    Raphael, the Chinese used the piling method on this bridge. No caisson, or coffer dam method was use here. They use pipes and drill them until they reach rock foundation then they pump out all the water and mud in the pipes. They then place re bars in the pipe and fill them with high strength concrete. ❤

      I am going by pictures of caissons that I saw in government photos at an earlier stage of construction. The public is not permitted to get close to the construction sites.

      @@RaphaelNation, buddy, don't argue with me l know what l am talking about. There are three types of bridge foundation. 1, piling, 2 caisson, and 3, coffer dam. For the Guyana situation piling was the best option because of it's soft soil and it's faster to complete . After the piling were constructed , pile caps were constructed. Now they have to go 400 feet in air to string the bridge decks with cable stay. This bridge could never be completed next year, no way . And then one has to cater for the unexpected. I work on these bridges before. This bridge still has a lot of work. Raphael, don't let the ppp fool you.

      @@IanBynoe-it6ni they do use the term pile cap in this article guyanachronicle.com/2024/08/06/second-main-tower-pile-cap-completed-for-new-demerara-river-bridge/

      @@RaphaelNation, yes , this is the pile foundation, where the pile caps sits on the piling foundation, very simple but effective. I am so surprised how fast the Chinese are working on this bridge. In America they work slower. At one site I work and we made a mistake and it took us one year to correct it. I hope the Chinese contractor is being very careful.

    It would be a remarkable achievement should this bridge be completed before the the end of next year. If they have to depend on some construction material from contractors here in Guyana,that will be the deciding factor in the equation.

    2026 is the completion date I would say, but the ppp is pushing for a 2025 completion so as to use this bridge as an election gimmick for re election , but it won't happen . There is too work to be done on this bridge.

    • @josephwinslow7613
      @josephwinslow7613 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It sounds like you are praying that the bridge is not completed by 2025 so that you and the PNCR can use it against the PPPC government for the 2025 election. The fact that it might not completed by 2025 is not a big deal because the bottom line is that it is being built. The PPPC government has plenty more completed projects that they can campaign on.
