    The reason you're getting excessive noise and vibration is that you assembled the metal pillars incorrectly on the main pcb. Both holes need one full pillar above the pcb and one full pillar below it, where you have only fitted a nut. The pillars are for balancing but if they are unbalanced like yours, centrifugal force will act upon the heavier side (the top pillars) and bend the pcb downwards, potentially causing scraping, collisions, pcb damage, motor damage, more imbalance etc. You can see this happening if you look at it side-on while it gets up to speed. You will also notice that it bends back to straight by the time it's slowed to a halt, making it quite a difficult thing to notice when troubleshooting. Once you sort this out, the thing is nearly silent.

    Wait, what was the deal with using the POV remote to non-chalantly turn off the room lights? Either that was a neat trick, or I've been drastically underestimating the potential of tiny, generic remote controls! Hmmm... 🤔

    De leds werken wel wanneer ik 5v op de header pins aansluit alleen niet als ik de complete kit aansluit op 12v. Het lijkt erop dat de vermogensoverdracht tussen de twee spoelen niet lukt aangezien er 0v staat na de gelijkrichterbrug. Heeft u misschien nog ideeën om dit op te lossen?
    Alvast heel erg bedankt voor de moeite!

    You know where can find the complete source code of the pov.S19? For modifing?

    • @basvandersluis5662
      @basvandersluis5662  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can try the rar file which is available for download for this kit: files.banggood.com/2016/06/SKU654816.rar (238MB) There are lots of source code files in there.

    • @salvuccio1976
      @salvuccio1976 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thank you very much, but in that "RAR" archive there are only incomplete projects and source codes and with a lot of didactic bugs. I look for the source code of the definitive and working file called "xuanzhuan.s19" or "pov.s19", which is always in the "SKU654816" package, but of which the folder is missing and therefore the source code to edit it.

      I'm pretty sure that when I was looking to buy mine, one of the statements in the spec said something along the lines that they will supply you with the software but not the source code. Try downloading a decompiler and work backwards from there :)

    Hi Bas. I built this kit but when I supplied 12 volts with my power supply it spins but doesn't turn on. The strange thing was that it was turning before and LEDs were lighting up. However now the LEDs don't light up when it spins and the IC chip on the board with the switch, coil, motor, led, and power wires gets hot. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

      You need in a board only 5 volts. 12 too much

    Hello Bas. I built the same. But my blue led axial don't work. I'm sure the hardware works. The blue axial flashes when I connect with USB-TTL device. Which software you used? The "PC software change word" is for 32 LED and not for 56 LED...

    If anyone still checking... I built mine, the motor spins BUT the LEDs don't work.. in fact, when I have the coil plugged in, the voltage greatly drops so the motor can't get enough power to spin.. I've checked the joints on the power board, I believe, but.. i'm really not sure whats up there. Anyone know what bits would be best to check on? I have wondered if the main IC on the power board is faulty (I think that's an XKT-412) but i'm not sure.. do kinda wonder if I just need to reseat it.. but the connections looks okay..

      ARE YOU SUCCESSFUL TO PROGRAM AND OPEN THE FILE pov.s19?

    • @UKDJMessy
      @UKDJMessy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Device unrecognized happens if it's in the LED test mode. You have to press the reset button on the device and then immediately click "next" in the software. You've only got about a second to do it before the device goes back into test mode. Also check that you have the correct COM port selected, Baud rate set to 384100 and Echo mode turned on. Depending on the speed of your computer it may take a few attempts but once successful you should then then be asked to select target, pick STMB_32K, click next and you'll be at the S19 file transfer screen.
      It's advisable to make a backup of the original content (bottom option - upload from device) before you change anythng but beware, if the software looks like it has uploaded 100% and then closes down, it has NOT saved the file. The software is a bit finicky about path and filename. I tried saving to a file called Backup.s19 and it kept failing, I then tried a different folder and called it 1.s19 and it worked fine

    The soldering is good, but when the curcuit is spinning, the LEDs light up one by one. No images no nothing. Anyone had the same problem?

    • @basvandersluis5662
      @basvandersluis5662  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It means that the circuit is not receiving the infrared signal. Did you make the same mistake as I did and mixed up the polarity of the IR LED? (since the longer lead is negative in this case)

      @linguritafurculita5933 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@basvandersluis5662 Thanks for replying but I found the solution. Everything was connected, but the IR Led was not sitting in its designated spot. I found troubleshooting tips in a zip file downloaded from banggood ( files.banggood.com/2016/06/SKU654816.rar)

    • @ACTUEL1
      @ACTUEL1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, I'm going to try to work it out on my side cause I just finished mounting the kit and I love it ! . By the way do you think that this kit is tough enough to let it run for hours, days and months as a usefull calender-clock ?Did you let work the single one since you builted it ? I'm not worried about the electronic but I'm not sure that the motor and macanical attach are going to last very long 24 h/day..

    • @basvandersluis5662
      @basvandersluis5662  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you manage to get it balanced very well, as in that you can let it stand on it's own without it wobbling of the table, then it should last quite some time. When it wobbles it will stress the plastic parts and that will probably not last very long. I hope that you get it programmed.

    Has anyone tried to program it using an arduino istead of a USB to TTL?

    • @linguritafurculita5933
      @linguritafurculita5933 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If any1 is wondering, you can program it using just the arduino. have the drivers for arduino installed and use the pov's kit to program it.
      short reset and ground on arduino and the kit
      and wire:
      tx to tx
      rx to rx
      5v to VCC
      and ground to ground.
      good luck.
