Just “Big Bad Evil Iran just Being Big and Bad”, no American Imperialism here, right? Ain’t no U.S. Destroyers sitting right offshore threatening every little thing Iran does
What a hauntingly beautiful thing to do. Yes I'm sure the list is out there for all to see if they go looking. But by your simple act you have ensured that all of us watching this video see the names of a those lost. I took the time to read each and every one of their names, which ended up taking longer than it did to watch the video as I kept going back over names that I got wrong, and wished them all a restful sleep. @DisasterBreakdown YOUR channel of course but perhaps you would consider pinning this post for prosperity or adding it to your own, current, pinned post with a credit to @lostvictims9769
It's the leaked ATC recording that's particularly chilling to me, the part where ATC said "I don't think there is a problem for you," and Flight 3768 responded "God willing, thanks." Those pilots realizing that the Ukraine flight was shot down, and they need to get their own aircraft on the ground as quickly as possible.
The Ukrainian Pilot's final maneuver is most impressive. He used the last 30 seconds of flight and bare minimum control, to crash land this plane onto an un-occupied football field. There was no way to save his own life or the lives of his passengers, but in the final moment of his life he acted to spare the lives of hundreds of people on the ground. thank you for this video.
Oof. Yeah. That was tough to listen to. The ATC staff must've been terrified I imagine and just have had no idea of what to advise the planes still in the air...?
So, funny, this channel and Green Dot just started getting recommended to me and I have been watching a lot of their videos. They have some accidents that have not been widely covered yet.
God it’s so horrible to think of the passengers and pilots witnessing the missiles. I can’t imagine how scared they must have been. Such an unfair way to lose one’s life.
Finally someone talks about this plane crash, this is one of the second worst Boeing 737 crash and is forgotten and overshowed by Lion Air Flight 610, GOL 1907, Helios 522, USAir 427 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 Thank you for this 40 minutes of video about this tragedy
An accident is something unavoidable, where factors outside human control has come together. This had several steps of human control, whether intentionally or incompetently. Hence, it is not an accident, it is an incident. Coz it was entirely avoidable.
This is haunting, heartbreaking and rage inducing. The pilots tried SO HARD to keep her in the air and likely find somewhere to land to save everyone/somewhere to crash away from houses so nobody else lost their lives. It’s rage inducing because all these innocent people lost their lives and the Iranian government just gets to carry on like they didn’t do anything wrong. It’s especially sickening knowing family members couldn’t even get their loved ones back to bury at home.
Blows my mind that even today we don’t have all the details. And that Iran is still trying to cover this up when more and more information available points to deliberate culpability. It’s a shame that they won’t take accountability for the loss of innocent lives.
You're surprised that a dictatorial, fundamentalist theocracy, renowned for cracking down on its own population, is refusing accountability and covering things up?
Thank you Chloe, I'm really thankful for the thorough investigation you've done for this accident. I remember it clearly as day, we were all in shock over how could this have happened. As an Iranian i want to let everyone know that the general public doesn't accept the official reasons either and i think that sentence speaks for itself. Most people on this flight were promising members of our community and this loss is a really dark place in the modern history of Iran for sure. Many of them were moving to another country to start a new life and for it to end so abruptly...
omg it wasn't until the very end of this video that I remembered I actually heard about this... In college (in Canada) in early 2020, I remember going into class one day and the professor came in absolutely in tears. He told us he'd just found out that some of his students had been in that plane crash, and then we all had a little moment to remember them before the class started.
@@shanedoesyoutube8001 Yes and the US never apologized for that. Unfortunately when such mistakes happens, it is almost impossible for the government that made the mistake to actually handle the case well, it would seem.
@@MrOpenGL Honestly the wiki list for shootdown commercial airplanes is quite long. If they don't identify you, you are basically destined to be shot down. I guess for militaries the saying "When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail". Everything is an enemy unless proven otherwise...
@@GuitarRyder11 No they were not 'cowboys,' they didn't drift off course, they didn't do any procedures incorrectly, they did nothing wrong. Would the captain of the RMS Lusitania be considered a 'cowboy' in your eyes even though Cunard decided to continue trans-Atlantic service during WWI?
Crossfire my *ss! Iran just added some reach to Russia's arm to "twist the knife"... probably in return for some more trades on hardware with Putin and his criminal cronies. ;o)
@@luisdonoso1913 given that NATO had since 2014 to deal with this issue and did nothing shows you have little thought on the whole thing. Edit: if you really want to see how much NATO used Ukraine as a pawn go see how many times NATO denied them entry. Maybe see what countries lead the push to deny.
@@NavyVet4955 it seems you haven't heard/read what putin and his circle think about Ukraine. You don't need to check Western media for that, you can go straight to the source and see the comments that russian cronies make about Ukraine. Your comment is total nonsense, as it assumes that Ukrainians are simply fighting because NATO wants them to do their dirty job against russia. So you think that Ukrainians are suicidal people who fight a nuclear power like russia because they received orders from abroad? That line of argumentation makes flat-earthers look smart
Chloe, this video is one of the best you've ever made. I remember very well when this accident happened. Even though I live in America, I was in shock and disbelief when I heard that this aircraft was shot down in Iran, and I needed to know more about the accident to start properly pointing fingers at people. The first live footage of the aircraft hitting the ground I saw was the one depicting the large distant flash, followed by others, like the close-up footage and then the missile firing. Like other passenger aircraft shootdowns, this definitely should not have happened the way it did, and Iran's response and lack of accountability and responsibility for this shootdown is absolutely unacceptable on their part, especially with the way they treated the families of the deceased. Thank you for your wonderful insight on this terrible tragedy and keep up the good work.
Oh the hipocrisy is such a beautiful thing ! What exactly the US did in accountability and reparations when shooting down that iranian civilian plane ? Typical western idiot, thats why you guys are getting your asses kicked by the global south
Airspaces being open within warzones is actually more common then people realize, for example, durign the Iran-Iraq war, despite the major air war happenign between the two countries, normal international flights were maintained, which is what would lead to the Iranian passenger plane that got shot down by an american warship, which mistook it for a military plane. Another example was the Malasian Airlines plane that got shot down over Ukraine by the separatists. Its kind of ridiculous how there isn't some kind of procedure to simply not allow international flights over warzones . . .
@@LoboalphaMASTERSeparatist with BUK System..... Only planes who can fly into active warzone are El Al who basically operate some military Boeings with passenger cabin.
The Iranian government controls the internet and the media such that people living there aren’t aware of current events including military skirmishes and airspace restrictions
The same year this crash occurred I was a journalist intern at KyivPost. We received messages that the Iranian government was trying to find a way to refuse to pay compensation for the victims of the crash. I remember calling the embassy in Kyiv to inquire about this, and then the ministry of foreign affairs - inadvertently starting more diplomatic drama about this. But I remember the deep sighs overheard in the newsroom whenever yet more news would come out that the investigation was stalled, or victims weren’t getting information they deserved. But what a tragedy it was. In Ukraine we havent forgotten, and still remember what happened. If i recall correctly this plane even had a nickname - Romeo. Sending our love and solidarity with fellow Ukrainians, Iranians, and everyone else on board. Justice will be served one day. ❤ Edit: I forgot to add this but at the time, we were aquatinted with the recently retired director of UIA. (Not CEO but like the managing director.) to say this story fucked him up pretty bad is not even enough. He was pretty shaken by the fact that there was never a single crash and now a plane was downed when he finally retired. No idea how he is doing right now but I hope he is okay.
Present during the missile attacks on American bases in revenge for the killing of Qassam Solemani, was the Supreme Sh*thead KHAMENI, who issued commands to fire these missiles. One cannot avoid imagining the conversation when Ukrainian airline took to the skies that night: 'Supreme commander, an airplane has taken flight and is gainina altitude - shall we fire on it?' Supreme Sh*thead KHAMENI replies resolutely "FIRE!" Irainian fire was true, striking the airline and again, bringing down the airline and 127 innocent civilians. The single man to blame for this was SH*THEAD kHAMENI!!
You did so much work on this report, and it is an example of why your channel is one of the best on air disasters. Thank you for your hard work and thanks for your channel!
Remember this one very well. Very early morning on the 8/1/20 wife was going into labour and was stuggling for hours until some relief came from some nitrous oxide. I remember sitting in a chair next to her, watching her sleep for a couple of hours, really enjoying the silence of it all and being super excited for our child to be born later. Being unable to sleep myself, I grabbed my phone and scrolled through the news. This disaster was the big thing happening in the world. Sitting in this silent delievery room and reading about such a horrible thing felt so surreal. I don't have any connections to either Ukraine, Iran or Canada or any of the people on board, but because of the date (the birth of my daughter), it is an event (inccident) I'll never forget. Rest in peace, and may the people of Iran soon be rid of tyranny.
Another sad event that hit me quite hard. My company handled this airline at LGW and I used to complete the weight and balance Load Sheet for this exact aircraft amongst others regularly. So sad!
What an incredible, informative video. You research so thoroughly, and present the information so that it's clear and easy to understand. What a terrible tragedy this was! How cowardly is it to use civilian airliners as human shields. This demonstrates the complete disregard for human life that exists in the Iranian government. The lies, the harassment that the families of the victims endured was horrific, and Iran should be held accountable. RIP to all who perished.
@@duyhung2528"But what about america!!!!111!1!" The actions of the US, whether good or bad, DO NOT excuse causing tragedies such as this. You can't kill someone, then say "But this other guy killed someone, so it's fine!" Murder is Murder.
i remember when this happened. the CCTV video of the plane hitting the ground is extremely unsettling EDIT: 31:54 oh wow, there it is. wasn't sure if it was too NSFW for the video
I had totally forgotten about this incident, even though it hasn’t been that long ago. Excellent video covering this tragic event. I hope the families will receive some sort of justice, but I’m skeptical anything worthwhile will happen.
Finally, a consistent video about this act of terrorism! I remember waking up at night and seeing a live stream of Steve Lookner who covered it. It was a heartbreaking day indeed.
@@FELIPEFODAOBR12 yeah, just like Iranair 655, only there's tons of info about that plane and it's been discussed a lot in the past 30 years, and there was little to no info about UIA 752, so I don't see how your comment is relevant here
@@maxygrec just love poiting out western beligerante and hypocrisys... well maybe thats why you huys are getting your asses kicked around the world (specially in ukraine) and we are uniting around brics...
One thing I always remember from this one was discovering that the Iranian neighborhood in the Canadian city is known as "Tehran-to" as a pun on Toronto.
the American government didn't held accountable for shooting down Iranian Air 655 and 701 and you think the Iranian goverment needs to get accountable for UkrINT 725. nothing happens when people are lost, no justice, no nothing. welcome to the real world.
Finally, some people are actually talking about these incidents since every time it gets covered on the news people just start slandering those people that died calling it suspicious video or fake. Even though there is no lies when passengers were clearly dead.
This was a hard one to watch. It makes me so full of anger when criminal acts (especially, carried by the government of a country) happens. I just hope, one day, real justice can be done, all for the relatives of the victims. RIP to all onboard UIA Flight 752, and also, all the other victms of totalitarian governments and their war and crimes 🙏🏼 Extraordinary work Chlöe. Loving your new videos and the way you have done them. ABSOLUTELY worth waiting that extra time for you to put together the video. As I previously mentioned I independently investigate air accidents involving the Boeing 747 (I don’t make videos though). But I currently have ALOT of files and other documents etc etc regarding N739PA and since you mentioned about going back and remaking that video then I’m more than happy to share what I have with you to make the new video. Kind regards Jimmi ✈️
Chloe, thanks so much for your gentle and respectful handling as regards the lost souls of UIA Flight 752 and your tough stance on the Iranian response to this radar target coming into view. Despicable and horrible actions. Really enjoy the longer format.
Wow, Chloe, you've outdone yourself with this video! Very interesting, very informative. You've put a lot of effort into this video, and it shows. Great work!
You are doing a remarkable job collecting and describing these events. The format is just right covering essentials maintaining balance. I would say keep it like this. Not too much not too less.
Been waiting to see a breakdown on this disaster for a bit. I remember vividly hearing the news that morning and the procession at boryspil some time later but was never aware of the cause besides it being shot down. Eventually it’s been pushed out of my consciousness by the pandemic, war and other stuff but since discovering your channel last year or so I’ve gained awareness of more air disasters, as well as this one. Bit shocking to me that the plane was shot down deliberately and not accidentally as i believed at the time, and by the actual military no less. Anyway sorry if its a bit of a rant, thanks for this one and all the other breakdowns you do and keep up the good work ily
I remember when this happened. The Iranians were in a sympathetic position after the assassination, which was very controversial, even in the US. And then this crash and the haphazard and shameless cover up attempt, removed any geopolitical goodwill they had earned and quickly made them into a pariah for some time. The victims and their families deserved a much better response than the malicious and clumsy one they got from the Iranian government
Given they're collaborating so hard with Russia that they're working on a factory there to manufacture drones for bombing Ukrainian cities, they probably don't feel much concern at all about mass murder. To be blunt, they seem fine with killing anyone who isn't an ally of their regime - their treatment of the Iranian people shows the same.
@@ih302 The US has been embargoing Iran since the 80s. They prevent shipments of anything and everything that the US considers capable of "having military value" from entering the country, and cannot use international banking systems, meaning all international business deals MUST be conducted in Iran.
This flight hits home for me since my friend maxi died on it. she was an awesome creator in the sfm community, she was showing her brother her family's homeland. RIP Queen 🇺🇦
What I find mind boggling is that they didn’t terminate the missile when they saw it track a different direction than which they believed it was coming from.
Nevermind the fact that this supposed American cruise missile was cruising at ground level, lit up with lights, was climbing at a typical airliner's climb rate, and did not break up entirely after the first missile impact. Or, y'know, had a civilian transponder.
@@kelly2631 Keep in mind I don’t know what Iranian system was used, but most military radar don’t show the transponder data from what I remember, they instead do a radio altimeter for lack of a better term.
I've been wanting you to cover this one for so long. Great video and a sad thought to all those good people who unknowingly and unwillingly became martyrs
That is one stressed controller. You can hear in his voice he knows what happened, and just doesn't want to believe it. Also, f*** the Iranian government
You really put a lot into this. Strangely, I'd never heard of it before today. The fact that this disaster was a military strike, from this particular country, makes it both infuriating and unsurprising at the same time. Never trust this country.
I was working in the military during that time and remember thinking that there is no way it could have been a missile strike, this was all internet sleuths going wild, and most civilians have absolutely no idea about military matters. The amount of things that would have to happen for it to be a missile strike, even for Iran, is unthinkable. But it happened and I remember being shocked and extremely angered when the rumors were confirmed
As soon as I saw the footage of the crash, my memory of the event came back to me. I remember seeing the footage circulating around Twitter in early 2020. Considering how much went on that year alone, I'm not surprised that I had forgotten about this, but deeply saddened because of how it seems as if everyone was talking about it until covid news dominated mainstream news, and it fell into some level of obscurity. I hope the victims' relatives and friends are in a better position in life despite everything that has transpired in the time since.

I worked in UIA for more than 10 years, so truly it was a shock to see those news on Jan 8th, 2020. I knew from the very beginning that technical failures and pilot mistakes are out of scope in this case, since this airline always maintained quality on the high level 😢
Unless the Military has the capability to realize what a Passenger plane looks like on Radar. They should NOT be shooting down any Plane whatsoever… If you know they don’t respond more than likely they don’t have your frequency!
I love te effort, time and research you put into your videos. I'm hoping one day you cover some of the biggest accidents from my country Nigeria speciffically Bellview Airlines flight 210 and Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145.
Iran Air space was safe for many many years. The chain of event took place after USA assassination of Iran top General in civilian Airport in Iraq. That criminal activity was the real cause of tragedy.
@@shanedoesyoutube8001As do we all I suspect, at least it's something, it could so easily never have got to court. So a big thank you to all who made it happen.
If I were the pilot on that plane, considering I'd just been hit by a missile, I would've steered the aircraft toward the most densely populated area I could find You reap what you sow Iran
Something that confuses me about the statement made at the end, while yes there was a grave series of avoidable errors made in this incident, that is not proof of deliberation. Surely there's far more to lose than to gain by shooting down a passenger jet? So what person or group would have decided to knowingly shoot down and why would they have done so?
This was so important. I wouldn’t have dreamed this kind of evil actually happened. I admire your dedication and thoroughness, as well as your respect and thoughtfulness to the victims and families.
@@ingridclare7411 Well, yes. A poor choice of words were on my part. This particular situation is more unique compared to the darkness we see in the minds of most killers, deviants, soldiers and so on… I’m sorry you have been witness to that in whatever way you did.
I'm Ukrainian. Pretty much the entire country was shocked when the news came. It was pretty much everything people talked about the day it happened. The Iranian government, which was the sole reason for this horrible disaster, should revoke it's constitution and disband it's powers.
funny how you feel the need to say Iran was the only cause of this... Also pretty hilarious how it was Iraq that assassinated Soleimani 😂 and by your logic the US should have disbanded its government after Iran Air 665. I think we should stop ignoring the American military industrial complex's role in our insecure world
Obviously Iran was at fault - they fired the missiles. Could it be that the US had some role in putting Iran on a war footing? forcing them to hastily move their air defences following the assassination of a major goverment figure? You perhaps rightly don't seem to think much of the Iranian government but do you know the history of the US coup that overthrew the democratically elected government of Mosaddegh which directly led to the state and attitude of present day Iran. How about the stability of the whole region after the 2003 illegal Iraq invasion based on the WMD lies. These things don't happen in a vacuum and if we don't acknowledge the role of our 'rules based order' 😂😂😂 it will never change.
i binge watch your videos while i work (i'm a photographer and i spend 90% of my time editing) and out of all of the disasters, this is the one that sent the most chills down my spine. that cvr recording! and just a few years ago. truly horrifying.
Whats more sad about this accident is that one of the passengers named Dorsa Ghandchi aged 16, was popular in the Five Nights at Freddy’s community with a youtube name as “Maxie”. She, along with her mother, and her 9-year-old brother were killed on this flight
I don't know... As important as that person may be to the FNaF community and the loss that she is, every loss from the flight matters the same, it's not sadder because of a certain person.
This is actually the first time i have started to feel sick watching an Air Crash investigation.. Well, not the first, but very rarely do i feel THIS bad! Good god those poor people..
Incredibly well-researched video. Excellent job! Your videos are extremely informative and I always watch them with a lot of attention. This one hit me particularly hard. The recent tragedis suffered by Ukraine, including of course the terrorist and genocidal acts committed by russia (with Iran being a complicit) have affected me at a personal level too. Fantastic job Chloe!
Thank you for drawing attention to this horrible crime! I remember how shocked we were in Ukraine when first heard of the missile strike on our passenger plane. It was everywhere on the news, and no one believed Iran would let the transparent investigation or would take the responsibility... RIP passengers and crew!

It's the leaked ATC recording that's particularly chilling to me, the part where ATC said "I don't think there is a problem for you," and Flight 3768 responded "God willing, thanks." The Ukrainian Pilot's final maneuver is most impressive. He used the last 30 seconds of flight and bare minimum control, to crash land this plane onto an un-occupied football field. There was no way to save his own life or the lives of his passengers, but in the final moment of his life he acted to spare the lives of hundreds of people on the ground. thank you for this video.

Blows my mind that even today we don’t have all the details. And that Iran is still trying to cover this up when more and more information available points to deliberate culpability. It’s a shame that they won’t take accountability for the loss of innocent lives.

The first live footage of the aircraft hitting the ground I saw was the one depicting the large distant flash, followed by others, like the close-up footage and then the missile firing. When a country is willing to keep its air space open for human shields, no one outside of that country should be flying through it anymore. Period.
Ukraine did it for whatever reason in 2014 and that's lead to some bad events.

Iran has been a pariah since 1979.
Given they're collaborating so hard with Russia that they're working on a factory there to manufacture drones for bombing Ukrainian cities, they probably don't feel much concern at all about mass murder. Surely there's far more to lose than to gain by shooting down a passenger jet? So what person or group would have decided to knowingly shoot down and why would they have done so?
4:05 Unfortunately yes. Two PhD students and a postdoctoral fellow from my university were perished in the disaster. This is just sad. So sad .😢
This was so important. I wouldn’t have dreamed this kind of evil actually happened.
I admire your dedication and thoroughness, as well as your respect and thoughtfulness to the victims and families.
I know that such evil exists. And even worse......
@@ingridclare7411 Well, yes. A poor choice of words were on my part. This particular situation is more unique compared to the darkness we see in the minds of most killers, deviants, soldiers and so on…
I’m sorry you have been witness to that in whatever way you did.
Incredibly well done presentation. Thanks.
I think we should stop ignoring the American military industrial complex's role in our insecure world
Lol what a silly comment
@@ewartmouton As we all know the iranian government did nothing wrong aside from this
Obviously Iran was at fault - they fired the missiles.
When is Z resigning
i binge watch your videos while i work (i'm a photographer and i spend 90% of my time editing) and out of all of the disasters, this is the one that sent the most chills down my spine. that cvr recording! and just a few years ago. truly horrifying.
Whats more sad about this accident is that one of the passengers named Dorsa Ghandchi aged 16, was popular in the Five Nights at Freddy’s community with a youtube name as “Maxie”. She, along with her mother, and her 9-year-old brother were killed on this flight
They would probably be dead by know anyways... Zelensky needs his leo 2 tank drives to come from somewere !
Why does that make this more sad?
@@krashd I think it’s more sad for her fans

Incredibly sad. Thank you for bringing more context to this tragedy.
This is an absolutely chilling video.. Terrifying how it happens. I hope all the lives lost are resting as best they can.
I somehow missed this tragedy, a great video although a sad watch. My heart goes out to the victims and thier families ❤
Very well done. Incredible job. Thank you for the time you put into getting us this lengthy and detailed video.
I love this 40 mints videos.Good job Chloe❤❤❤
Massive props Chloe!
The slow realisation the controler had is just..very sad 😔
Thank you for drawing attention to this horrible crime! I remember how shocked we were in Ukraine when first heard of the missile strike on our passenger plane. It was everywhere on the news, and no one believed Iran would let the transparent investigation or would take the responsibility... RIP passengers and crew!
We should celebrate this week. Mentor pilot, Green Dot Aviation, Mini Air Crash Investigation, AirSpace, Three Green Aviation, Disaster Breakdown, Curious Pilot all did a video this week.
