For today's video in the #365daysofguitar series, we have an overview and demo of my personal 2019 Gibson Les Paul Special TV from the Original Collection. I bought this guitar in August, 2019 and felt it was time to do a cool demo of it.

They are awesome! I have this, as well as an SG Special with P90s and a wraptail; I enjoy both quite a lot.
@@WillyKidd sweet. I had one that I had to sell in a fit of being broke. Luckily, a friend of mine bought it but is willing to sell it back. Though I'm a bassist (2007 Rickenbacker 4003 and 1980 BC Rich Eagle deluxe) my number one electric is a 2001 LP standard, stage played by my good friend Victor Griffin from Pentagram. Nice chops. Will be watching the channel.

I have the same 2019 Gibson Les Paul Special in TV-yellow and it sounds awesome!!!
The build quality is superb and I like the chunky neck a lot. The P90's growl/bite and sound very vintage, And the nitro laquer ... it smells sooo good like vanilla !

Great overview. Really nicely done, and with a perfect demo.
I felt the same way in 2019 when Gibson re-released the Standard. I read about it, looked at every demo I could find, and then simply ordered one online. I figured, 'hey, free returns, let's give it a go!' (this all happened in about 24 hours!) Well, my Standard remains in my top 3 favorite guitars in my overly large collection.
I'm here in 2022, five days into my ownership of my new LP Special, and boy is it ever hard to put down! I'm proud to put it alongside my Standard and my other favorite Les Pauls.

Such a fantastic guitar! Its such an inspiration to play! Since I got it I’ve been feeling so inspired! The sound of the pickups, the light weight and the fantastic neck! Everything adds up to a killer instrument!

I have this guitar, not only does it sound amazing, the nitro smells amazing, like a candy shop.

Those clean tones are why you buy a Les Paul Special. There is literally nothing else that sounds like that. And when you need it, you can still crunch the hell out of it and make it sound amazing!

Amazing guitar and guitarist. Just bought one in cherry red though. Would have preferred it in TV yellow but you get what you can get. Love how your pants goes with the guitar.

Lovely guitar. I have a Junior from 1988 with a tunomatic bridge - they only made them from1986 to 1982. It's my favourite, even over my Black '96 Standard. P90's are great pickups, with better responsiveness to playing nuances than humbuckers, in my experience. The mahogany slab body sounds less "brittle" to my ears than Les Pauls with maple tops, at least to my ears. Still plenty of bite - helped by the P90's sparkle, but with plenty of body - complemented by the P90's mid-range punch. You're absolutely correct as to why It's called TV Yellow. It's a weird thing about black and white that colours show up strangely - in the 60's on UK television there was a popular television police series called Z-Cars. They used "white" cars but, as the early programmes were shot in black and white the white cars presented onscreen as grey so they painted them bright yellow, which looked white in the broadcasts.
I got lucky and got my hands on 2016 Japan model. Set it up and the baby just sounds beauty, thanks for the awesome review and great playing.

Awesome. The colour tends to vary a lot depending on the lighting IMO. Most pictures make it look really bright and opaque.
Bought the 50s with humbuckers and love it but really want one of these also

It’s a hell of a guitar. I actually sold the TV special because of losing my job over the pandemic, but when things picked up I was able to save a bit and get the ‘59. There are some videos on the channel if you’d like to hear it - thanks for subscribing!
I have a new epiphone version of this one. A 2020. They made an almost exact copy with a few minor differences. The main difference is a poly finish and the new Gibson like headstock revealed at NAAM. And it has an intimated bridge. For $400 it's an acceptable copy of you don't have $1500 for the Gibson. It sounds just like yours.
I picked up the Gibson version only because the Epiphones are made in communist China!

Which guitar do you think is better between the LP special and SG special p90s
I bought the SG first,and loved it so much I had to buy the LP. Anyway for me the bridge pickup on the LP is better than bridge on the SG. The neck pickup on the SG is better than the neck on the LP.
Anyone change from 10’s to 9’s on the strings? Any intonation issues?

Hey - pop quiz. Who made a white guitar in 1954? Certainly not in Gibson's catalogue. Ever wonder if that theory is wrong? Why would Gibson care so much about washed out guitars from competitors if you can even find one?
