love how the drummer plays the melody in his solo
He's good too!
The quoting of The Flintstones at 3:07 in the alto sax solo just butters my egg roll
TheLudicrousLime youre not funny
@@willreem5099 shut up
it was good and dude know how to put it in smoothly
What?
@@willreem5099shut up
That little smart ass sax played the Flintstones theme
He crazy good tho
ye
when?
nvm just heard it
Alto Sax player is something else.
This is one of the most creative sax solos I have ever heard, absolutely killer!
It's so cool to see the other kids digging their band mates solos, and just digging the groove. The bass & guitar seem so locked in!
OMG, the sax ensemble! The Duke would be proud!

Same
Austin Zhang!
My alma mater! Graduated in 06, the Jazz band has come a long way since then
Everyone’s talking bout how he quoted the flintstones but did anyone notice that he quoted Beethoven Egmont Overture??
where?
Also Illinois Jaquette
In my 100% UNBIASED opinion this was the best band lol
First sax player started with Ben Webster’s first phrase, then the alto player ended with another phrase from the original solo. Pretty cool
That's my kind of drum solo!
Joseph Karl agreed, that was immense...
everyone be blessed! Just awesome!
fantastic!
This is sick!!!
Good job by all!
The vibe here is I M M A C U L A T E
He was the reason my school’s Jazz band lost to his school 💀😂😂
@Yuval Agam Naaman Forest High School.. 2017-2018
Quantum Rey, which student was the reason?
@@tromboneman4517 I think they're talking about the sax player who played the Flintstones in his solo
Riyan Ali, I meant that sarcastically, implying that there are many great players in this group.
@@tromboneman4517 I'm a dumbass lmao
3:10 so fye
3:04 lmao
I wanna be best friends with that guitarist
1:03 Coltrane Jr.
Killer!
Alto player is really something. Anybody know what alto he’s playing on
Looks like an ishimori woodstone
THE SAMPLES FROM THE ALTO SOLO... frothing rn......
Yeah, that’s how it’s done
The tenor 2 player looks like Coltrane when he plays. He even has an Otto link.
Wow! What a band...Wish I had that drummer in my section :) Also looks like a Seawinds Alto?
straight 🔥 wtf
where can i get the alto sax solo
0:32
was that austin zhang on alto
Eric Liang yes
Whats up with all the bench warmers in the back?
not entirely sure, but i think they perform when the band needs more parts covered (vocals, aux perc., more winds, etc.)
It’s arranged for small big band format. Only about 2 parts per instrument. Also what spooky boi wrote.
zayne if I remember correctly from when my high school tried to get in. You have 3 Trumpets and 3 Bone Parts
ApplePie IS GUD This band is actually bigger that what is currently on stage (they have more trombones, saxophonists, etc.) Unfortunately, Ellington music is restricted to a certain number of parts, and putting two people on a part would probably overpower the band’s balance. Because the director wants everybody to have a chance to play, he is saving those people to switch out with those on stage already for a different song so everybody has a chance to play.
My band competed to enter the Ellington competition, we had to play 1 of each part. So I'm assuming it's the same when peforming
what is in the water in Plano?
Lots and lots of money
@@Lolaismypoopydog2036 plano isn't even that wealthy. students there are wicked smart though
No full piano solo? :(
Good to see America becoming "Great" again!
What kind of ride is the drummer using?
Right side Bosphorus Master Vintage 22” with 2 rivets, left side Bosphorus Master 20”
My man using a schilke
What, are these guys doing maths and stuff when they are not blowing? Amazing!
You just close ur eyes and you can see Tom Hunting Jerry
trumpet soloist really be using schilke
