It is quite dangerous for younger children to go under anaesthetic, so surgery isn’t ideal if it can be avoided. I understand she may have been panicked and in pain, but complications from anaesthetic can be much worse

They would've given something to numb the area ....my child had the same (NZ aswel) and they weren't put to sleep just a local in the area ..... A quick snip and it was done, child was 7

I knew she was gonna be okay but seeing her like made me want to cry and since she has autism and is more calm with me I had to carry her while she fell asleep and I had to place her on the hospital bed and for some reason that made me very emotional.

I had chronic sinus infections for 17 years (usually just very tiring, only a couple times when I was younger did it almost turn very bad.) and finally in the last year I discovered I had a pretty severe allergy that was resulting in repeated infections, and now with some strong daily antihistamines I've gone my longest ever stretch without getting sick. But it terrifies me that I was always at risk for meningitis and at the point I was in I couldn't even get antibiotics because I was sick so often I would have basically never come off them.
