It is quite dangerous for younger children to go under anaesthetic, so surgery isn’t ideal if it can be avoided. I understand she may have been panicked and in pain, but complications from anaesthetic can be much worse
They would've given something to numb the area ....my child had the same (NZ aswel) and they weren't put to sleep just a local in the area ..... A quick snip and it was done, child was 7

I watch it all the time cause these kids are like me I am always in the ER cause I have had 2Strokes so I was dignosed with a Stroke Deficiency and I have Epilepsy/Seizures and I am Diabetic and I am always in the ER having Surgeries or being checked on after a bad Seizure or Low or High Blood Sugar issue
My Father suffered from a sinus infection that went in to his brain. He had surgery. He was in a coma for 2 months. He survived but it changed his personality.
I can only imagine how many of us are truly wondering what it would have been like to have known such parental love growing up...My heart goes out to these precious children & their lovingly devoted families... God bless them...

Yeah sinus infections can be dangerous. I have chronic sinusitis and had surgery a few years ago. I have also been checked for that complication a few times. So seeing this poor guy suffer from it makes me very thankful I never developed it!
Any infection can kill, but sinus infections are among the more dangerous ones because it's so close to the brain (also why you should never ignore a tooth abscess).
I just got done watching all of the nurture vids and all these children r brave and I love going to children's hospital to see all the staff that have helped me in Arkansas children's hospital

The little girls mom crying because her daughter was put to sleep for surgery reminded me of my little sister when she had to get an MRI and they had to put her to sleep. I knew she was gonna be okay but seeing her like made me want to cry and since she has autism and is more calm with me I had to carry her while she fell asleep and I had to place her on the hospital bed and for some reason that made me very emotional.
msdarkstar1012 Same except that the boy was in a ski class and while he was skiing, he fell out of the way and and he got stuck and after he came the hospital, he died couple hours after... that's tragic and allllll the school was sad 😭 and the teachers too 😢😥⛷ it happened last year in march and he was 14...RIP Jabo.

I had a tongue tie when I was a baby. I had the exact same op done. Even though they cut the skin that was attached I still can't stick my tongue out that far and it tends to stick downwards. My Aunt also had the same thing.
it is not a pretty feeling when the docs take out the intubation tube cause it goes all the way down to your lungs to keep u breatheing & it feels worse when your awake i had the intubation tube when awake before & i hated it & unfortunately i kept vomiting & that did not feel good at all especially when it was coming out luckily it did help me with my breatheing 💜💖💜💖
Sean is doing well. He is young and will,open new pathways in his brain so he can ambulate ..he will,do well he's young and the first 6 months he will do better and then continue to get well up to 5 years by then he will be amazing
We do frenectomies all the time in my dental office with just a slight numbing under the tongue, and laser the tissue. No bleeding, very little discomfort. They are using an electrosurge here. It's amazing what a difference removing this little bit of tissue makes in speech.
My son had emergency brain surgery at 19. He had a 5% chance of even making it out of surgery. They only shave what they need to. The asthetics are not important. My daughter shaved the rest of her brother's hair when he got home a week later. ☺️
In all fairness I think dad was laughing at the kid's attempts not to swear. If I was a parent in that situation I would just tell them to curse like a sailor if it helped.

We could never get health care like this in the US. You go to the ER and your there for possibly up to 8 hours waiting for help it’s ridiculous.

You don't really need to go to a hospital, swollen glands in the neck with any sinus/throat infection is fairly common... monitor fever

Agreed. No reason to wait years for a minor surgery oike that. It impacts speech and eating in most cases.
My father was a pediatric surgeon and he used to perform the release surgery right away. Sometimes even in his office.
