It is refreshing to see Bond wearing British made accessories. It gives a nod to his Britishness and military credentials. Interesting to hear you are a fan of Peaky Blinders. This TV series is based in the city where I was born. Do you own a Peaky Blinder cap? I would recommend the Harris Tweed version. Another nice video.
I think of Suspenders to be what holds stockings up! I have a little chuckle at that😁.... to us Brits they are referred to always as Braces. In fact theres a saying if job is done really well or item manufactured really well....its referred to as "Belt & Braces" i.e Quality.
Belt & Braces is a saying that refers to overdoing something as a precaution, e.g. "I set my alarm but also asked reception to phone me". Basically you normally only wear a belt OR braces but not both, but you COULD wear both as a precaution in case one failed.
David Ive been watching your vids since the build up to skyfall.. Life long bond fan here.. Although during the no time to die production I fell out of love with bond I guess it was more frustration with all the delays.. Think it was about the time Danny Boyle left.. Now I'm in quarantine and I'm rewatching all the old ones and your videos too.. Its after reigniting my love for bond! Keep up the good work! 🇮🇪
Wow! I never about this company or their Bond involvement. Roger Moore looks fantastic in the scenes where he wears that tie, his overcoat is beautiful. LALD is my favourite James Bond movie and I've always wondered who made the brown tie. I know the pattern is out of date now, but I'd love to get my hands on one. Does anyone know who supplied it? I always assumed it was Turnbull & Asser or maybe Cyril Castle.
Believe it or not, Clint Eastwood also wore the Guards Brigade tie in "Dirty Harry". He wore it with his grey jacket and maroon sweater. Maybe another reason to buy it!
Love your vlogs - it gives us such a fantastic insight for all bond fans. The jumper you’ve got on in this video can I please ask where you got it from ?
Craig is really growing into the role as he matures. Actually, bearded Pierce Brosnan looks just perfect for the role of a significantly older "Never Say Never Again"-style Bond... But I accept his tenure had become silly and redundant by "Die Another Day"...
They were made by Albert Thurston but the difference is that Benson & Clegg changed the packaging to use their packaging. If you buy them directly from Albert Thurston or Mason & Sons they come with Albert Thurston packaging and the best part is that they are a lot less!
AFAIK American stripes slant the other way to British ones... therefore if there is a British design you like, you can wear the inverse American version and still be correct
David I'm surprised on the wrapping on the tie bar as mine was shipped by Benson & Clegg in a plastic shipping bag with a slip cover over the tie bar box.....not impressed!
Nice, tasteful overview! Only wish they sold their stripes in the American style- right to left! Don't want to offend any Old Boys by wearing a necktie to which I have no right!
Please do NOT wear a Regimental or School tie unless you were in that regiment or went to that school. As someone has already said you'll be a Walter Mitty and could be accused of what I believe Americans call "stolen valour" The colours may look great and stylish but you've not earned them. There are plenty of other great looking ties you can wear. Love the channel as always but just want a note of caution around Regimental, and to a lesser extent, Old School ties.
Regimental ties I agree with, people died for those units. It's only stolen valour to say you were in the unit but, still, it's disrespectful. Public schools? Go for it. The only pain associated with them is the term fees.
@@darthkek1953do you consider that LALD Reppe tie to be associated with a certain unit? I do not want to disrespectful in any way, even as a Mexican national

Great video. Thanks. As a Londoner I've walked past Benson & Clegg many times but never knew its close (cuff)links with Bond. Watching in Brunei btw

Well done, a great VLOG and learned about their early connection to Bond.
Thank you David , I was not aware of the connections you highlighted . Very interesting.

Nicely done. I will have to look into their accesories.
Hi i thought the suspenders were by Albert Thurston, with everyone in the bond fandom promoting the albert thurston one?

Surely should only wear the ties if you were a member of that regiment/Royal Navy or an old boy.

Hi, need your advice, any clues on light blue shimmary tie worn by Daniel Craig in QOS ??

You got the suspenders. Yes!
Oh - the metal hardware on those braces is gold-toned, or silver? I prefer gold but it's rarer, apparently.
The purchaser should be a member of those military units.
I have the Albert Thurston braces from Casino Royale, the Benson and Clegg brace lsook just as high quality.
They are actually made by Albert Thurston. You can find them in their website.
@@diegogiovagnoli9591 thanks!
David so who is providing the braces for NTTD? Till this day I read everywhere it is Albert Thurston so now I am confused...
It is Albert Thurston, Benson and Clegg simply carry the former's products on their website (and put their name in the packaging)
Best regimental ties
Love those ties, hopefully more affordable than the T&A Brosnan ties?
Much more, about half the price
Moore's live and let die was an is so classy.
Pierce Brosnan was the best, he looks like James Bond#1
He was good but the films don't age too well and with him driving a BMW ...and Die Another Day was just not very good!
I prefer the Daniel Craig simple sharp and minimalist look, Sean Connery had the same style too.
😊👍

I'd personally feel disrespectful wearing anything representing any military services, unless it was in honour of a family member who has served.
Definitely. Don’t be a Walter Mitty
03:50 controversial opinion! Most would say Spy who Loved Me.
I say Octopussy (despite his age) , even more controversial lol
Daniel Craig does not act like other james bonds; grace only script & directiors/spectre was last covid shot
