The rain falls hard and unrelentingly. You cower in your closet thinking of the horrible deaths of your friends. Footsteps grow louder and louder. A shadow dances off the closet door. In a single futile motion the door is ripped open. A tall figure looms before you, and speaks the last words you ever hear. "This is my coke bottle gatling gun. HAHAHA... Let me show you its features."
If I recall correctly, Coke bottles are made from the same bottle. They just blow them bigger to hold the different volumes of liquid. This would answer why the smaller bottles are tougher, the plastic material isn't stretched out.
Awesome laugh. I can just imagine if he had a daughter someone tried to date, he could say something like: "I can build an easy to dispose, semi automatic rifle from a soda bottle and some wood without breaking any German laws, (whispers>) if you break her heart I'll break your face, HAHAhaha".
It was subtle and cute at first... then it got louder and turned exciting... now I'm less interested in its features and more interested in my life .-.

+Jonthan Fowler BB guns are allowed, but may not have more than 7.5 Joule of power, otherwise you can only buy and own them with a weapons permit. BB guns below 7.5 Joule are free to buy and own 18+, below 0.5 Joule are considered toys. All BB guns over 0.5 Joule though are restricted by the German firearm laws, which means full auto is also not allowed on those. That's why we play Airsoft with semi-auto guns almost exclusively in Germany, apart from the odd 0.5 Joule full auto CQB guns some bring. If Jörg wouldn't block the barrels he'd have to send in those contraptions to an office where it would get checked and stamped, as they're clearly exceeding 0.5 Joule.
Mid Night I think 10 Joule was the limit for BB guns overall, but I might be wrong. You are, however, wrong on that 0.5 Joule thing. That's only a thing sellers agreed to, there's no law that sets this restriction. You can look it up.

+The RedCross Logic Well, depends. You need a license for guns (quite easy to obtain), but then again no general speed limit. When I drive in the US, I almost fall asleep. My moped was faster.
JoergSprave Did you know that it's legal (At least the state I live in) to drive 10 miles over the speed limit? Just don't go 10.1. They will know. They always do. >.>
Maybe you could grease up the rod that the arrow slides on so it will move quicker due to less friction and also create a tighter seal. Sounds like some air is escaping before the arrow is even off the rod.
You could use 12g co2 cartridges to power fire each arrow. By install a disc that ruptures at just below co2 pressure between the aluminium tube and the valve would compensate the slow opening valve and burst the power.
Have you tried polishing the aluminum tubes? That might help, especially if you use something like trumpet slide grease on them. The slide grease would lubricate the metal, yet keep the air from escaping around the tubing. It might increase your velocity a bit.
Only someone like Joerg could name a channel after something as simple as a slingshot, and still strike fear into the hearts of everyone who watches his videos.
Aluminum on aluminum has a relatively high coefficient of friction. You would probably gain some extra power if you used a brass tube since brass has such a low coefficient of friction. Steel would work better, too, but not as good as brass.
The image of this guy laughing in his terminator voice while gas curls out of the tip of his deadly makeshift crossbow is one that will forever haunt my dreams.
The length is causing friction, though shorter tube will mean less accuracy. Consider retraining the arrow, allowing pressure to build in the shaft. This should increase Q, the flow rate of molecules, by reducing friction relative to pressure. IMO A proper comprehension of fluid mechanics will go a long way in it's development.
Because it's a spigot type system the trouble is it must remain low pressure.the higher the pressure the thicker the projectile casing. Since the pressure is maximized by the rupture pressure of the bottle, the only way to increase the propelling power is the volume of air. The longer the barrel the higher the friction, but that isn't all all bad. The longer the arrow remains over the barrel the more time the barrel pressure has to equalize. Ideally the barrel would be at the same pressure as the bottle before the arrow left. Additionally the friction drops the further along the barrel it travels, leading to barrel friction being inverse to barrel pressure. This is good for energy efficiency. Too much friction could be avoided by applying oil. The problem here is the ball valves he is using. They have a pretty bad pressure release gradient. It looks like a lopsided parabola with a slow buildup and a fast drop off. Ideally the valve would be spring loaded and open in milliseconds.
RaeSyngKane The ref was to air friction due to turbulence, though a drop of light oil would help seal and reduce metal on metal friction. By, momentarily, restraining the arrow, pressure will equalized. No velocity, mean no friction. Once released, the higher pressure means more molecules of air will pass w/ the same (or lower) friction as the lower pressure(due to back pressure lowering velocity), ergo transferring more energy.
Suggestions: 1) make a piston valve for a faster release. 2) use the largest inside diameter tube that you can find for the barrel, since a larger inner diameter will allow faster flow. 3) Go higher pressure.Honestly, you could probably do away with the valves, and use a mechanical system to hold the arrows from launching. A clamp or pin the hold them to the barrel, and an o-ring to hold the air in. Much like the way our water rockets work. This way, the entire barrel is at full pressure at the moment you release the arrow. Your current design has to build pressure in the barrel when the valve opens, and this lets the arrow move partially down the barrel as the pressure builds. This robs you of acceleration and top speed. The mechanical latch would probably be easier to design an automatic repeater for as well. With the valve removed, the air path would also be shorter and smoother, so the air would vent faster and give more speed as well. You original idea is really cool in any case! Keep making these videos!
+USWaterRockets Piston valve would not make much of a difference. The tube diameter is so thin that the air flow is limited, so even if the valve opens slowly it does not matter. The inner diameter of the tube needs to be maximized, but of course the walls need to be thick enough too. I am afraid I can't go thinner really. I'd need to make my own arrows from thick tubes,. Higher pressure always works, FXAirguns uses 3000 psi - but I can't afford the required compressor. Keeping the arrow pressurized is certainly a good idea, but then again you run into many problems keeping things air tight.
one thing you can do that may improve performance is cut a 1/8 inch wide by 1/4 inch long slot at the end of the barrel 90 degrees from the pin it will improve airflow and still be legal as a BB still could not be loaded into it
If it rotated and you had some kind of trigger lever to open each valve as it rotated past, the trigger mechanism could trip each valve, creating a single spin (of the drum) in rapid fire succession.
Hey Joerg, as with Gas Blow Back operated BB guns this could fair a lot better on a hotter day and using some kind of aluminum case, you should test this again in the summer and use your car to pump the gas in or you'll pass out before you can shoot it!
I have heard of people using sprinkler valves for on pneumatic potato cannons so they can be fired electrically. Perhaps you could try something like that.
I can imagine that Joerg could ake this with steel tubes that could be a lot lower profile and be put to way higher pressure, so he could fit mechanisms to automatically open the tubes a lot faster, maybe even make it so he could quick detach/attach "cartridges" onto the weapon and load arrows. Before you know it he could have quite the weapon: that's the thing I really love about Joerg's stuff is just how functional and effective his things are and what pride he takes in their refinement and improvements.

after applying the valve coat the bottles in rhino liner. added strength like no other, paint over the caps seams to eliminate risk of blowout. If the relief valves have an arm that can rotate against a stationary pin as you spin the bottles around its center pivot. fires as it turns past "top center"
Arrow shotgun - fires all 6 arrows at a time?
+TAOFLEDERMAUS i know you! :D i subbed to you, didn't know that you are following joerg
My first thought as well.
100% agreed
nice idea :)
Arrow gattling cannon,
Who else has a feeling that Joergs wife wrote that disclaimer at the beginning and joerg probably wasn't even gonna put a disclaimer down
Warning, plastic bottle in Germany are a lot thicker cause they reuse them, do not try to put that much pressure in a normal soda bottle

This guy wouldn't even realize the zombie apocalypse had begun.
Poor opponents.
2:07 "Let me show you its features!" was more epic than usual haha
+Zack11 it sure was
+Lorenzo Stroe lol
yeah at the beginning i was a little disappointed 0:28 . but he is awesome anyway
This man has the best attitude on TH-cam. Love it.
There's snow he's breath freezes just wears a shirt and looks so happy
Ha has a thicker beard than normal here, he's completely fine.
The only man to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Joerg, your inventions and your laugh are both excellent. Thanks for sharing them with us! =)
So shooting a bb out of that thing is illegal in germany but firing half meter arrows is totally ok 2:30
I think it's because the arrows are practice tips, no real killer arrows there.
Like the shirt, "Pray for peace, prepare for war". Hope for the best, work against the worst.
His laugh makes me want to follow him to battle

It's not a biography. It's a joke..
How many times a year do you need to replace your shed back wall
The best part about these videos is how much fun and joy he has doing these things. Followed closely by the enginuity.
When the zombie apocalypse hits, Jörg is my go to guy!
Can you imagine the smile on this man's face if he caught you stealing from him!
I swear, the "Let me show you it's FEATURES" is getting more aggressive every video xD
+Pineapple Jones eventually it will turn into an incoherent demonic growl :D
+Henry Phillips Definately, soon I hope to see a primal scream and Joerge charging at the camera. Watched for year's, this channel is the best

Germany: Heavens no!
German people: Can we have arrows and slingshots?

._.

And you have to be older than 14 to own a airsoft over 0,08 joule (up to 0,5j)

+SlimeBuilder101 I tought same :D
Survive? He will clean up the zombie mess. All in a days work ;)
+Ryan Mann He's made slingshots capable of beating revolvers in terms of impact.
reko rek damn
This guy needs to do voice acting in either cartoons or video games. The cliche "mad scientist" archetype comes to mind.
So it's against German law to make an air powered BB gun?
I'd hate to live there.
People always forget that the laws there aren't for "safety" it's for control.
No freedom.
+The RedCross Logic Well, depends. You need a license for guns (quite easy to obtain), but then again no general speed limit. When I drive in the US, I almost fall asleep. My moped was faster.

+The RedCross Logic So you are allowed to drive 10 miles faster than my moped (35 years ago)? Big deal.
JoergSprave I think you could.
Not sure though, as I'm not that old yet.
Summary
Damage: 95

You could add fast release air valve to the thing, so all the pressure of the bottle comes out as fast as possible, it would give to it more power.
*LET* *ME* *SHOW* *YOU* *ITS* *FEATURES* XD Classic Joerg
Bethesda please make a Nuka Cola version of this in Fallout 4 DLC!
I'd say it's less like a Gatling gun and more like an old pepperbox revolver.
He just sound like a really nice guy
We don't go to ravenholm anymore....
Have you tried polishing the aluminum tubes? That might help, especially if you use something like trumpet slide grease on them. The slide grease would lubricate the metal, yet keep the air from escaping around the tubing. It might increase your velocity a bit.
is it just me or does anyone else think he sounds like one of those blacksmith NPCs you'd encounter in an RPG game??
Joerg's pick up line: "ha ha ha. Let me show you it's features!"
Joel Austin JA JA JA
LMAO
"Rather small nuts that still fit through the mouth!"
Only someone like Joerg could name a channel after something as simple as a slingshot, and still strike fear into the hearts of everyone who watches his videos.
You can't make a BB gun but you can make a 6 shooter arrow destroyer.
Find a way to fire all 6 at once, that would be pretty cool. Coke needs to sponsor this channel.
Aluminum on aluminum has a relatively high coefficient of friction. You would probably gain some extra power if you used a brass tube since brass has such a low coefficient of friction. Steel would work better, too, but not as good as brass.
Try using a multiple airgun airtank and a solenoid valve
I love to see how you make a good-working weapon from random stuff. Great work, Jörg!
The image of this guy laughing in his terminator voice while gas curls out of the tip of his deadly makeshift crossbow is one that will forever haunt my dreams.
But in a good way :)
Would this work underwater too?
He should be designing weapons for the next Ratchet And Clank game.
Why not make a sniper? With a long barrel, and sights? Or what about adding the pump, to the weapon, so you don't have to go find one?
+minihali Ya! Sound pretty good :)
Die Videos sind einfach zu geil! Ich seh mir diesen Channel schon sehr lange an und bin immer wieder begeistert was hier geboten wird! Danke.
Use electric lawn sprinkler valves in place of the ball valves. They can be actuated with 2 or 3 9VDC batteries in series.
You even get to blow the smoke off the tip of the barrel...
Every time you where shooting you are out of breath. Couldn’t you get an air compressor with the right psi settings?
The last words any criminal will hear "let me show you its features hahahaha"
Awesome
also, "and here is what i came up with" hahaha
At 3:24, is that a deer in the background I can see? Near top right of the video.
This is a German mechanic designing mass destruction weapons in his shed from literally anything he sees...
How does he come up with these things?

dude u should try auditioning some villain role in movies. your laughs are epic
Joerg, you're the best. Keep up the great work and fascinating inventions!
I've not seen Joerg's videos for a while and almost forgotten what an absolute legend this man is!
And this technology should used in post apocalyptic games. Come on Ubisoft buy that for Far Cry 6.
Best coke advertisement I'd ever seen.

Dose anyone else wonder what he ends up doing with all the things he builds like dose he just have a shed full of his creations
He should do a video on all that stuff he made I just came across him on TH-cam now I have to watch all his videos
No, he has a shed foll of holes and arrow heads!
If the apocalypse ever comes, you sir, will be king of the wasteland
Am I the only one that fucking loves his laugh
No.
It makes me happy.
If it rotated and you had some kind of trigger lever to open each valve as it rotated past, the trigger mechanism could trip each valve, creating a single spin (of the drum) in rapid fire succession.
Connect a set of tubes to the bottles that all meet at one single point so you can air them all up at the same time.
You are actually The Heavy from TF2.
Hey Joerg, as with Gas Blow Back operated BB guns this could fair a lot better on a hotter day and using some kind of aluminum case, you should test this again in the summer and use your car to pump the gas in or you'll pass out before you can shoot it!
This man is like a fucking russian santa. he will bring the best makeshift weapons instead of presents.
He's German
Give him a break. He did say "like", not "is"! It's that deep evil laugh that is his trademark!
Evil laugh? His laugh if so full of pure joy, it could be the love child of Bob Ross and Santa Claus!
your awesome man. I love the enthusiasm in your videos. That laugh every time you fire one of your weapons is great and contagious
I have heard of people using sprinkler valves for on pneumatic potato cannons so they can be fired electrically. Perhaps you could try something like that.
Joerg is the medic from tf2 CONFIRMED
+hytato a heavy-medic ;)
*no offense jörg
Or the Heavy! (^o^)
+Simon Flixeder Heavy seems more fitting.
+Gary T. Heavy fight little men!!!!
hes the 10th class its confirmed
0:46 his hands are so huge!
Does anyone else just love his laugh?
I can imagine that Joerg could ake this with steel tubes that could be a lot lower profile and be put to way higher pressure, so he could fit mechanisms to automatically open the tubes a lot faster, maybe even make it so he could quick detach/attach "cartridges" onto the weapon and load arrows. Before you know it he could have quite the weapon: that's the thing I really love about Joerg's stuff is just how functional and effective his things are and what pride he takes in their refinement and improvements.
Use that for home defense just to confuse anyone who tries to break in
Is that Braum?
Thats the power of German engineering
He's like a real life Reinhardt
You could make a rail that turns the valves as they rotate through it and add a hand crank for full auto.
In the beginning why does it sound like he is in a big room?
Instead of a repeater make them all fire at once.
Hey Jorge, you should test your weapons on a ballistic gel torso/head,flesh and bone, blood sac...
So you're telling me german law prohibits bb guns...
No. You can buy and own them just fine. You just need to learn the gunsmith profession before they give you a license to make them by yourself. They still have to be inspected by the authorities, see if they are safe to use. Then they get an official mark and go into circulation.
Ah, thank you for that. Was a little confused at first haha.
the moment when you realize that your laughter sounds the same as Joergs and everybody loves it.
sir i want to know how you make the cover of the coke bottle where you pump the air inside..
tune in next week to watch Joerg hold back the soviet advance in Stalingrad with old underwear waistband, sheet of plywood, and bottle caps
Don't lose that laugh. Hahaha. Your laugh shows that you love and enjoy what you are doing. It's contagious. Thumbs up for you. :)
How do you build so much new stuff so fast?
German engineering!!!!🇩🇪
He doesn't watch TH-cam.
after applying the valve coat the bottles in rhino liner. added strength like no other, paint over the caps seams to eliminate risk of blowout. I hope you're making a living at these videos, because you're obviously having fun and they're amazingly fun to watch. Thumbs up for you!
"the nuka cola gatling gun" for Fallout 4... why doesn't it exist already ??!
