Hi Bill, thanks for the explanation of your hernia. Hope you continue to recover in a timely manner. Enjoy your Christine videos. Cool wood boat. Thanks Bill!

I watched a few videos before the procedure and thought my version would be helpful to someone at some point in time. Glad you're enjoying the videos and - hate to brag - but that boat really is COOL!

Hey Bill , hope you continue to feel better. I enjoyed you recounting of the surgery and your experience involved with that. I hope I dont ever need one of those procedures but if I do this will help. We both have red and white 56 Chevys and both like wooden boats. Enjoy the videos. John

Thanks, John! It's not all that bad - more of an extended inconvenience. I'm always in motion, always needing to "do something" so that part was pure torture!

Wow! Great explanation. Sooo sorry you had so much difficulty and pain. I got lucky I guess. Triple hernia, laproscopic repair, mesh inside the abdomen, stainless steel staples for attachment ( can't clear airport security now. ) but no pain. Went back to work about 3 days after surgery. I was in the automotive parts business back then. Full recovery still, and I'm 74 now. Laproscopic surgery is great, not like in the old days where they really open you up and there is a long long recovery. Keep getting well and take good care of yourself! Your friends miss you! :)

Doc explained what they used to do and it's drastically different. But I thought he put two small patches over each tear and he said that it was really two very large patches and that's why the ache was so broad. I'll be in the garage this weekend, so we'll be back in the saddle and posting more content soon!

Good to hear you're doing better. I had to have a hip replaced, and it's still not the same a year and a half later. It took me over 6 months before I started working back on my Nomad project.
Remember, we might be able to fix things, but the body has to have time, and we can't rush it. Take things one day at a time, and thank the people around you for being there for you. Remember, it beats the alternative.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel your pain Bill, I had one in 2019 and for me it was a slow recovery. Listen to your body because we aren't 25 anymore lol. You are doing a great job on the 56! God bless and Happy Thanksgiving.

Really glad to hear that things went well! During your summary, I was wondering what a "Hippie cleanse" was until you clarified that it was "hibiclens".

Hippie cleanse! LOL!!! Light some incense and spritz me with patchouli oil! Glad you got it the second time around!

Had one done too. When I know im going to pick up heavy stuff I put on a truss just to re-enforce from the outside.. A lot of things I use to muscle through I now figure out how to use some sort of machine to do it.. I dont want a second one!

A truss... I do have a core brace like the UPS guys wear, which I used to always wear when I was marching, carrying a snare drum around. I might just pull that out!
