    Thanks for watching! Do you prefer to pedal an e-bike or cruise using the throttle?

    • @Altema22
      @Altema22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do both. I'm a former marathoner who pedals out of instinct, but in group rides I throttle because it's easier to keep with the ever changing pace. Having 80 miles of throttle-only range spoils me though 😉

    • @geraldscott4302
      @geraldscott4302 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am disabled, and the only reason I got an ebike is so I could ride it without pedaling. I got an ebike with a stepthrough frame (because I cannot get my leg over the top bar on a regular frame) and about a 25 mile no pedal range, which allows me to go on long slow evening rides through residential areas and a long bike path beside a canal, at speeds at or below 10 mph. It has normal 26"x2.125 tires so I can fix a flat if necessary.

      i prefer using throttle because it makes me feel awkward when the bike is moving by itself without me pedaling...

      @@geraldscott4302 electric tricycles have become a favorite of mine. I set up the back with two little seats for my girls and a trailer for towing anything. I love it. I'm already looking into upgrading to a different drivetrain running 72volts. Should be really enjoyable

  • @geraldscott4302
    @geraldscott4302 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The only real problem I see with it is the tube type tires. I have had several "homebuilt" 2 stroke gas powered bikes, and one ebike, all of which had standard bicycle size 26" tires. I've had a lot of flats on them. It is not difficult to fix a flat with bicycle sized tires, but I can see it being a serious issue with motorcycle sized tires. I can just see myself getting stranded somewhere on that thing. You would think for the price they could have used tubeless tires, or at least have put a centerstand on it to hold it up while removing the wheels.

    • @mriguy3202
      @mriguy3202 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the tires on thsi bike, in the style of an old mini bike, will flat very little in normal use, because unlike your old homebuilt bike, they have the ability to soak up bumps without pinching on the frame. Your old bike was possibly overloaded also. It's not the tube, it's the wheel and tire selection. There's a reason why even small scooter morotcycles have wider tires than bikes.

    "iconic bike brand"... I remember when S73 started to produce bikes in 2016, a year after CoastCycles shoved off their Buzzraw (was called Ruckus at first) and everyone said its a S73 clone (otherway around) ...nice to see both are still around and now there are many similar style bikes around, i just ordered a Buzzraw X, i will equip it with a CYC X1 mid drive, 3kwh battery and and Öhlins suspension...

    It's good the company did not give you the e-bike to keep - it's human nature that you would give a more favorable review but not saying you would, and not being given the e-bike your review tells the viewers your review should be honest.

    Excellent video, and you got some great footage. You are so right about feeling safer in traffic with less speed difference between you and the cars. I also have to agree the Super73 community is great, and real down-to-earth. If you are in one of their group rides with another bike, and they stop for photos, they will insist you get in on the pics.
    The design of the bike is iconic indeed, and my favorite accessories would be the center bags or basket, even if I prefer dual batteries. I'm not so sure about the 2000 watt peak of the motor though, as the performance doesn't really match up to the numbers. Thanks again for the video!

      I think that the accessory mounts inside the frame allow you to mount a second battery. That would give pretty decent range (for another $1000). Of course to recharge you’ll have to spend the night at the little watering hole you rode to get lunch and a beer whereas the dirt bike you can fill up at the pump in minutes. 👍🏻😀

    The Super 73 RX is nothing but an over priced hype junker that isn't worth the asking price. Customization is where the Super 73 RX has an advantage over the rest but otherwise it's garbage. I'm loving my Spark Cycleworks Bandit dual battery eMoped, top speed for me on one battery is 40+mph, top speed on dual batteries I haven't tried out yet because I only had the eMoped for 4 days and I need to get comfortable with it first before going all out. It's built like a tank, premium components, 1500W Nominal, 2400W Peak, 95NM of torque, 48V-24.5AH Samsung cell battery, 12V electrical system, Steel Geared hub motor, triple crown inverted front fork, dual suspension front & rear, 203mm Tektro Hydraulic Brakes front & rear, 5 levels of pedal assist, thumb throttle, dual headlamps, turn signals front & rear, rear brake light, mirrors, horn, long saddle seat, 60T chainring, 7 Speed Shimano Gear Set and so on and etc. There's no going into settings to make this eMoped go any faster because it comes delivered to you that way directly from Spark Cycleworks. It's big, it's heavy but the weight is well balanced while riding and these features are in the base model for $3,195. The Bandit is not an eBike but if you gonna spend this type of money you might as well truly get what you pay for.

    • @chucknoob7041

      I checked out the Bandit. The difference to me is the frame. I wouldn’t take the Bandit off-road….ever. No gussets on the frame from what I could see. I would worry about cracking the frame. For a street moped it looks like a good deal though. The Super 73 however has better aesthetics IMO.

      @@jeffs4483 you can get an euc that goes 40 mph, has 70 miles range and fits into a car truck (or easy next to you on metro) for 2k (thats 1.5 k less than this thing)

    Ugly super over priced junk.. those new companies basically import a Chinese brand that cost them less the $900 and brand it here in the us. If you want a motorcycle get a motorcycle- that's not a motorcycle neither a bicycle, the geometry for pedaling is a joke. Bottom line you can get an actual e bike with better spec, better battery and suspension fork that actual comfortable to ride for less then $1700. The frame of this "bicycle" is the cheapest kind you can find.
