Hey, this is "BlakeVR's" dad. We happen to be your neighbors! He's super excited to meet you and hopes that if you're out practicing, he can come check out your rides!
Me to but if u have a pedal bike its fun to if been wheelieing on pedal bikes since im 5 and now 10 years later i can go like 100 meters in a good wheelie and its stil fun and in saving up for a Surron now
Amazing. I used to be so good at wheelies when i was younger.. anything from bicycles, dirtbikes, quads, etc. Now that I'm a bit older I have fear of getting injured, whereas back then I was fearless. My surron comes this week and I need to get back to wheelies!
respect. i started to laern how to wheelie at 9yo, and now im 14. it took me 5years to lern how to wheelie for miles on a pedal bike. first 2years i didnt have rear brakes cuz i didnt know how to fix them and make them more agresive. love this video. you did an amazing job explaning even for pedal bikes no video helped me for my first 4years the last 5th year i started to learn some tricks. love the vid keep up the amazing work😘
I can balance in the balance point using the pedals and brake kinda fine, but still have a hard time trying to balance side to side, I always drop to one side until I can't take back conrol, any tips?
Great video. I'm going to start pointing people to this when they ask, "how to?". I drilled the "golden rule" into my head a while back after watching your first wheelie video from a few years ago. Best tip ever. Even now that I can go for blocks, I have trouble remembering the even bar pull and looking at the horizon, so it's always nice to get a refresher from the OG. The tip on practicing the pop to get the wheel up without throttle also sounds like a great idea for new people who are nervous about getting started. I'm down for a while recovering from an open fracture on my elbow so when I get back on one wheel I will need to focus on buttery smooth come downs🤘
NICE! I was just popping some wheelies today, but still working on mastering them. Couldn’t have been a more perfect timing for this video. Thanks man, cheers!
By far the best wheelie tutorial I’ve ever seen. Doug Domokos couldn’t have demonstrated or explained it better himself. He would’ve loved these new e-bikes. Really enjoyed the specific tech tips for each bike.
4:40 applies to a motorcycle as well. I wasn't able to power wheelie my stock '01 CBR 600 until I realized I had to engine brake in 1st gear at about 4k RPM, then mash the throttle as the front end was rebounding upwards. The bike didn't have enough power to pull the front end up on engine alone, but going from cruising to 0% to 100% throttle with the right timing at the right RPM and the front end would come up nice and smooth with no clutch. Pulling wheelies like this is WAY more controllable and comfortable than dropping the clutch in my opinion but both methods work.
@@Undefeated.ZX10 they definitely are until you get the clutch down the only thing clutch ups save you is RPM to play with in the gear you’re in. If you can shift it literally doesn’t matter at all
Another piece I’d add, is lock your arms out as much as possible. That way when you are trying to bounce the front end up and backwards everything comes up including your body. Otherwise you’re just pulling the bike into you and you never get close to finding the balance point. Some pro bmx guy gave me this advice at a skatepark one day, changed my wheelie game dramatically.
SurRon I’m 67yrs I was taught the rear brake method when I was only 12. You are absolutely correct. I was called wheely Billy at the sand dunes in Idaho. I also put extra foot pegs right near the rear axel on my SurRon Super Moto. You can stand and dance. Too much fun. I love your videos but there’s a time and place to do dangerous riding. Don’t scare grandma and grandpa camper driving.
looped a wheelie 2 weeks ago on the first ride of my talaria. I think I'm ready to try again. Thanks :p wear your gear boys and girls. padded undershorts will save your tailbone and hips. also recommend padded elbow/forearm sleeves. never had a problem doin wheelies on my ninja 636 but the ebike torque is scary lol
I would love a Surron. Been caring for my mom for the past 4.5 years. Caregiving etc. Toughest job. Won't cry about it but life has been super rough and would love the ability to have a bike like that and just be free and have fun.
i bought a surron early this year. I already drove over 3000km. Since i had it i was starting to learn how to wheelie. It took me one week to get it consistant. Now i can drive curves, stand up, sit dow, do coaster wheelies.... i didn't fall once i just felt a few times while learning jumps and on crosstracks. When u know where ur brakes are and u have a bit of grip u nearly can safe anything. (i dont have any power Upgrades i just got maxxis offroad wheels and a 90mm rise handlebar the rest is stock)
Thank you soo much for this video it taught me so much I have a surron and 72 volt ron also I was really good at wheeling my stock bike but couldn't wheelie my 72 volt I can finally pop wheelie my 72 volt ron thank you again this really helped me
When I was a kid I thought I didn't have very good balance so I stopped trying wheelies. No one told me you have to practice over and over and over! Now I'm finally getting good at it and I'm 58 years old! Switching from riding wheelies on my electric mountain bike to my new Pro SSSS. I'm just a little bit nervous because I'm so used to feathering the brake with my right hand.
Probably the best explained wheelie tutorial I have ever seen!

I like how you started off with no suspension because its hard to find videos these days how to wheelie a bike with no suspension. I have a E-Bike but i don't have shock on the rear or front suspension forks. Thanks for the tips G
Wow this was actually a really good video. Now I just hope I can follow it… EDIT: I got into a wreck so I’m out of commission for awhile, but my brother learned to wheelie using this video. Thanks dude!!
Very comprehensive tutorial, some people suggest lowering rear tire pressure, not optimum for long hauls, but for hooligan sessions it's supposed to help. When is the next Stark session happening?
learning to wheelie on a pedal bike. my god its a workout. still cant do it, but we gettin there very slowly loool. i literally never have my head straight and looking at the horizon. i let fear takeover before i can progress and bail instead of trying to feather and letting myself fall. i think ima wear a bunch of gear now that its colder and just let myself fall on my back.
I like it when you take old things and put them back together and I have a old Spider-Man car in my garage and I what day I decided to strip to the bottom which I did go to the outside my backyard because I power wash I did everything to it in and trying to restore it now and shout out to you on my TH-cam channel because you’re the one who gave me the courage to do this. i realy wanted to wheelie bicycle and i did want to give up but i did not give and in 1 month i wheelie very good so never give up have faith in your self
