I buy and sell cars for a living, some morning it’s extremely hard to get out of bed due to depression. Whenever I’m in a funk I put in your videos and it motivates me to get up and get to work. Thank you for what you do man!
New sub from Tyler / Hoovie's Garage. I've been doing TH-cam for years, but never really took the leap to making it my only income. I got fired earlier this year from a company in SF I helped build from the ground up, and was forced to make TH-cam work. I have almost 200K subscribers now. You'll do just fine man. Great channel! Best wishes from Oklahoma.
I bought a 2.4t as an 'airport car' about 5 years ago. It cost not much. Admittedly I had to get the suspension mainly replaced; the 'consumable' components. I've got rid of several other cars since, the airport car has stayed. The 2.4t is an unsung hero totally excellent car.
I was literally just led here after watching a video about a cheap GMC typhoon, while trying to decide the best way to remove old plastidip from my taillights... Looks like I'm going to have to subscribe.
Dylan McCool has a video on here just power washing a car that set for like 30 years is so satisfying to watch 27 minutes of power washing.my wife says there's something wrong with me but I really liked it
Looks so much better! My ‘94 Town Car had plasti-dip on it’s wheels and grill when I got it, I used a Dupont product called “Kleensol” and a small paint brush and it all just dissolved off really easy.
Goo gone is awesome stuff. Can’t remember how many times I had students use it to clean up after they purposely ink stained desks and walls in my classroom. Good to see they have an auto cleaner now. Also very satisfying to watch that plasti-dip come off.
Good job on the wheels. When pressure cleaning with an applied chemical on the surface, you get better results if you go slowly from the bottom up. If you start from the top, you rinse the gg. Also press the trigger often, as the flow of water cools the pump. Running the engine in idle without pressing the trigger may cook your pump unless it has a clutch. Love your show!
The remover is called your fingers! plastidip is made to be peeled off. He would have been better off buying another can of plastidip to spray on another layer to make the plastidip easier to peel. The thicker the dip the easier it is to peel off.
that high pressure relieve valve is sticking, you can watch youtube videos on here but a simple fix of unscrewing it and cleaning it out/ possible slight hammer tap like your freeing a stuck valve in a cylinder head
Have done this as well - works great. I dipped the whole lower part of my car to protect it when I was running about in the woods for work. I didn't use a pressure washer... still worked, just took a bit longer!
I was just researching this last week on removing plasti dip off of some wheels I bought for my daughters truck and Goo be gone and WD-40 were the top two things on the list other than the pressure washer. Thanks for sharing this video as I’m going to be using Goo be gone after seeing it actually work for you…
To my knowledge that's the first thing you've done to the Camaro in quite a long time. How about a video on it at least to go over what needs to be done?
He did a video on the Camaro a while ago, its kind of a hacked up basket case from what I remember. Wiring was so bad you'd be better off installing a new harness than trying to fix what's there IIRC.
For adhesives on most materials, I cycle through Goo, WD-40, and Isopropyl. One of those will typically do the business. On glass, WD-40 is often the best. Goo is really great on particular adhesives, but almost useless on a fair bit I deal with. If not on plastic, I may try acetone, but it's tricky as it evaporates fast enough that you think it's working, then the adhesive seizes up again. It also destroys a fair number of plastics.
Can't wait to see how the Volvo turns out, drove an s60 of that vintage in California several years ago and I've owned a 2012 s60 for four years now....Volvos just have a certain quality that makes 'em sweet
Gabe is The Man! Always saving your butt. You should take Gabe out for a great Freddy's Burger and a frozen custard for always having your back. Get'er done, John Ross.
Thats super unfortunate, that company decided to let go such a smart datacenter engineer such as yourself. It's their loss, a few job applications and an interview or 2 and you'll be in something better anyways. Or you'll really take off with this channel and your car flips, either way you're a smart guy, you'll be fine :-)
oh the skateboarding action in the beginning is cool man :D. Picked up an 03 F150 with leftover plastidip on it but only in the spoke holes and bolt holes, tons and tons of baked on brake dust so I hit em with 1500 wet sand and they look way way better. One more time around with 2500 and maybe even 3500 wet sanding and some around the lip of them and theyre gonna be hot wheels. Wet sanding only because of the brake dust that was probably four years old or something. Cool videos you put together man
Is it weird that now I wanna find a car with the wheels plasti-dipped just so I can do this? 😄 I love pressure washing anyway, but watching that come off was so satisfying! Great video. Thanks for sharing. 😊
With the black spray paint on the wheel you could use some brake fluid but that may also take off the clear coat on the wheel itself. So only do this at your own risk.
The Volvo is looking good! I can’t wait to see what kind of money you will get for it. Car flipping looks like fun (at least when you do it)! Have a great weekend! 🚜👍
I was happy to see the Camaro in another video. I know you have huge plans for that car. But I certainly would enjoy seeing some short repair videos on the Camaro. Just fixing it up a little for now until you get the cash for the huge rebuild is another way to keep the Camaro on youtube. Just a thought. Thanks for the vids.
4:25 I had this exact same thought with an old Acura I bought. Had plastidipped wheels and 2 spokes I could NOT get it off no matter what I tried. I't slike the plastidip bound molecularly with the wheel.
Next episode: Dude where's my rim's clearcoat?? That is a really strong power sprayer (pin point adapter) to use on older rims? Still love seeing the PD'd rims get rescued from mediocrity.
Pro tip break cleaner takes it right off gotta move fast tho to not effect paint but if there not pained rims just soak a rag with break clean and rub it off the missing black spots
WD-40 melts Plasti-Dip right off. I blacked out an old Ford Exploder once and decided to take it off years later. Couple cans of WD-40, a trip to the car wash, and the job was done.
If Plasti-Dip is done correctly it should not require any sort of cleaner or remover - it should just peel off fairly easily. Someone has probably already said this but I don't want to check. Spraying goo-gone on top of plasti dip is just a waste of money. The goo gone can not penetrate through a thick layer of plasti dip, the only thing it might do is loosen up the edges after a chunk has been peeled off. Again, I am talking about a properly done plasti dip job. The dip remover and goo gone is more for over spray or if the plasti dip was sprayed on too thin.
You are the most pleasant car channel on TH-cam.
Totally, likeable fella!
True, no fluff or bs drama here. Just hangin out working on cool cars.
MrShadowDUH:😉🍻
Agreed.
MrShadowDUH I agree

Feel satisfied to watching the plastic dip peel off from the wheel
You got fired for making TH-cam videos that is insane. I hope you do much better
I was literally just led here after watching a video about a cheap GMC typhoon, while trying to decide the best way to remove old plastidip from my taillights... Looks like I'm going to have to subscribe.
Nick Wilson: Welcome, Nick!😉🍻
Dylan McCool has a video on here just power washing a car that set for like 30 years is so satisfying to watch 27 minutes of power washing.my wife says there's something wrong with me but I really liked it
I love that video, too!
I just spent 10mins watching someone remove Plasti-Dip from their wheels...and I really enjoyed it, haha!
It's good that Watch JR Goes was able to sponge a pressure washer from Gabes in order to clean his wheels. Gabes is definitely a VIP!
unstablebobgable:😉🍻
They both look so much better!
Idk about the plasti dip, but for that patch of spray paint, gasoline works wonders :)
Did I just spend 10 minutes watching JR take plasti-dip off of 8 wheels? Yet it was much more enjoyable than doing work stuff.
Looks so much better! My ‘94 Town Car had plasti-dip on it’s wheels and grill when I got it, I used a Dupont product called “Kleensol” and a small paint brush and it all just dissolved off really easy.
I've found the key to using GG is patience. Put it on thick and wait.
Citrol is one of the best removers out there, bugs, tar, adhesive all just wipe off. Always good to have it in the garage when you need it.
Goo gone is awesome stuff. Can’t remember how many times I had students use it to clean up after they purposely ink stained desks and walls in my classroom. Good to see they have an auto cleaner now. Also very satisfying to watch that plasti-dip come off.

Judging by how powerful that pressure washer is. That Goo gone didn't do much. Would have been better to buy the remover and be done in 10 minutes!
The remover is called your fingers! plastidip is made to be peeled off. He would have been better off buying another can of plastidip to spray on another layer to make the plastidip easier to peel. The thicker the dip the easier it is to peel off.
catfisher420
It gets dry solid concrete on the wheels because of heat.
Can't peel it like from a hood.
My daughter always used WD-40.
Gasoline works just as good and is $4 a gallon
that high pressure relieve valve is sticking, you can watch youtube videos on here but a simple fix of unscrewing it and cleaning it out/ possible slight hammer tap like your freeing a stuck valve in a cylinder head
That Volvo is lookin sooooo clean
Have done this as well - works great. I dipped the whole lower part of my car to protect it when I was running about in the woods for work. I didn't use a pressure washer... still worked, just took a bit longer!
The wheels on both cars look so much better! Top job
For future reference. Oven cleaner works great. Works great on stuck on break dust as well. Just rinse quickly. Don’t let it sit too long!!
Great for greasy engines too.
Scott Reska Absolutely!!!!
Ronsonol lighter fluid (like you would use in a zippo) dissolves sticker adhesive really well.
John: I need to to O’Reilly’s!
All of John’s cars: Drive me!
Boosted Board: Hold my beer...
Steve Kirks:😂🤣
I just use this on my truck grill and it worked great although the plasty dip was only applied 32 hours before. I just didn’t like the outcome.
Only JR can make plasti dip removal seem so interesting
Gotta love a good pressure washer. I don't loan it. It's too useful for cars, dirty motorcycles, yard tools, houses...

I used the same thing on my grille!! worked amazing

Gabe is The Man! Always saving your butt. You should take Gabe out for a great Freddy's Burger and a frozen custard for always having your back. Get'er done, John Ross.
SIXPACFISH: ....or tacos?😃
You can use lemon furniture cleaner spray for the stickers it works good
Good looking out 🙌
I don’t know why but I really love that tracker
Man, that O'Riley dude got everything in his joint!
PS:
Best of luck with your vlogger career, man!
I'll watch all your videos!
Dan _: 😉🍻
Use acetone on that spray painted wheel the spray paint will dissolve right off without ruining the factory finish.
Fed Rooster: Thanks. We’ll give that a shot.
Gabe Use it on a Rag or towel. You may have to rub it a little bit but, it should come right off if it’s regular spray paint.
The regular Goo Gone is also very useful for removing almost anything from household surfaces. It’s about $3.00 a bottle but good to have around.
Thats super unfortunate, that company decided to let go such a smart datacenter engineer such as yourself. I wonder how good that works on oil stained concrete?
Put liquid laundry soap on it let it soak about an hour and it will have it clean.
Awesome tip, have to do this to my miata wheels. Some kid before me plastidipped them black uggh.
well done, just what I need. My Miata/5 needs the plastic dip off. Thanks

Donna Wagner: LOL! Not at all!😉🍻
Sorry about you losing your job bro. Hope you hit that 100k soon!
yooo I never knew being on youtube can get you fired from your job, that's bullshit I subbed also hello from Hoovie's channel.
Melody -Mellybyte-: Welcome!!
At 1:49 Gabe came through like he always does. JR cracked me up about saving the world from plastidip one wheel at a time.
big thumbs up for "unpimp ze auto"
The place you used to work for is the definition of jerks wish you all the best in your TH-cam channel 👍🏻 from Kuwait
Wow... Impressive! a "No Touch" cleaner that actually cleans without having to touch (Scrub).
Your logo reminds me of Weather Tech floor mats logo. They are a pretty successful company so that is a good thing!
Awesome as usual! I have one request, more tracker content!
With the black spray paint on the wheel you could use some brake fluid but that may also take off the clear coat on the wheel itself. So only do this at your own risk.
Your like a goo gone superhero riding around on the one wheel......the exp can be your ride for further adventures
Both are so much better without the Plasti-dip.
The Volvo is looking good! I can’t wait to see what kind of money you will get for it. Car flipping looks like fun (at least when you do it)! Have a great weekend! 🚜👍
Tractor Hyatt:😉🍻
Was never a big fan of goo gone but that stuff worked nicely on the rims you worked on , GG 👍
i love this chill intro music
Best title ever. Good stuff, looks much better!
I've used BrakeCleen as well for some trim pieces but a lot of rubbing was required...
Dope stuff man!
Wow, you finally worked on the camaro
Really nice "dolly" shots on the wheel thing [thumbs up]
That was completely satisfying.
I was happy to see the Camaro in another video. I know you have huge plans for that car. But I certainly would enjoy seeing some short repair videos on the Camaro. Use a razor and pretty much any cleaner for stickers and adhesive on windows and glass!
Bought my own power-washer...did a driveway the size of an aircraft carrier...looks easy, harder than hell.
Your driveway was plasti-dipped??? 😜
.:: KOEN ::. - haha, I just WANT a driveway the size of an aircraft carrier!
.:: KOEN ::. :😂🤣😂🤣
4:25 I had this exact same thought with an old Acura I bought. Had plastidipped wheels and 2 spokes I could NOT get it off no matter what I tried. I't slike the plastidip bound molecularly with the wheel.
Keep up the awesome work thanks for the amazing content them wheels look way better without plasti dip off
Yes! More R8 please!
Joe Princena: We just shot some more content. Stay tuned!😉🍻
I like the bonus ASMR section at the end.
Have you tried oil that Volvo seems to have plenty of it. So when is the Abarth going on sale? My $350 isn't going to just sit and wait
Taelor Watson:😂🤣
Try OilFlo safety solvent from Titan Laboratories
Next episode: Dude where's my rim's clearcoat??
That is a really strong power sprayer (pin point adapter) to use on older rims?
Still love seeing the PD'd rims get rescued from mediocrity.
Found you via Hoovies garage
Peter Currie:😉🍻
Awesome video!
Pro tip break cleaner takes it right off gotta move fast tho to not effect paint but if there not pained rims just soak a rag with break clean and rub it off the missing black spots
i wish you luck 4your new job on youtube
Rahmet 96:😉🍻
I used WD40 to remove plasti dip for a couple of years. Helps when it’s thin
Great job! But I don't like using the high pressure washer next to the brake calipers. I'd prefer to take the wheels off.
Great job
Bro you are original af that trip to oirellys in a skateboard 👍🏼
i also liked, and did whatever I wanted to do.
Just a quick question, ummm was there more oil or water on the driveway once you were done?...inquisitive minds wanna know?
Needs a oil cleanup on concrete video.
s60 is a great car... the i5s made by Volvo are such great engines
WD-40 melts Plasti-Dip right off. I blacked out an old Ford Exploder once and decided to take it off years later. Couple cans of WD-40, a trip to the car wash, and the job was done.
Ayy shout out from your oreillys crew
trenton navarro: 😉🍻
1 Engine Rebuild Away From Perfect. LOL.
Aerosol based (not spray bottle) glass cleaner [i.e. Invisible Glass] does wonders in getting sticker adhesives off.
I have been waiting all day
I've never dealt with plastidip but now I want to try my hand at it, just to watch it fall off with Goo Gone. Learn something new.
Yes!!! Gabe to the rescue!!! #Champ
chris simpson:😉🍻

Hey JR I just subbed to your channel I saw you on Hoovie’s channel! I watched a few of your video’s good stuff bro!🐟
Catfish Corner: Welcome!!😉🍻
For the black paint on the camero wheel try goo gon grafitti remover
Damn that's satisfying
Word of advice Volvo is big money very well made!!
I wonder if any "globs" of plastidip got onto the rotors or into pads?
