Talking about your legs being cold, with me it is my feet. If my feet are cold, it doesn't matter if the rest of my body is warm, I am cold and miserable lol

Yikes trapped in the ice... but you eventually broke free and sailed off again... yeah keep the water, diesel & gas always topped up... as you never know when you will run out. I see you had some condensation on the windows... hope you don't get too much of it. Please never feed the birds bread on the water... it is actually not good for them.. google up botulism in birds. Yes 5k, we very excited to have climbed that hurdle. Yes we broke through ice, we have to wait a little bit and allow it to thaw as it ruins the blacking on the boat and can damage any other boats we pass so we waited to be safe. Normally we don't give them bread but we had ran out of food and said swan had followed us so far we felt bad not giving anything. Hope you are well and had a lovely Xmas. Hi guys, what do you think about CRT's plans to increase boat licence fees above the rate of inflation and introduce additional fees reaching up to 25% for continual cruisers?
I get why they are having to do it due to funding cut but they really have got to sort out moorings, we have been quite a few places now there is so many perm or winter moorings and simply not enough for us continous cruisers. Don't mind paying the extra fees they are asking but they surely have to provide us with adequate mooring spots. 🙃
Go figure... I spend 10 months on my boat and never ill, come back to bricks and mortar matrix world... And I get ill😂 best wishes for 2024 and many years beyond ❤️🎉👍🚢
Oh no Gavin, hope you get better soon. No one has time to be ill on a boat do they 😂 We always get asked what we do on the boat, and as a boater you'd know there is always some job that needs doing, no time for sickness. Happy New Year to you. Hope you don't go into 2024 feeling poorly.
That is such a good point... It's true, always stuff to do on the boat. I'm probably ill because I had time to stop and body went "yippee my time to detox and reset" ❤
I used to work in a school a while back and I could pretty much guarantee that I'd be ill half terms when my body and brain took a little break. 🙃
@@uponreflection omg... My mum was a teacher, without fail she would always be ill on holiday time... I think a certain amount of adrenaline and stress is actually a good thing

@chrislowe3282 i think the 3 pro has pretty much the same features as the 4 I'm pretty sure the only significant difference was more obstacle avoidance on the 4 .
Loved the vlog and the way Ernie cuddled with you Liz under the blanket, was so cute. The young swan staying with you was amazing. Perhaps it knew you would feed it so it would benefit being alongside whilst it’s cold. Wishing you a very Happy New Year and seeing what happens in 2024. Again, a big hug to Ernie!
Wishing you a happy new year Glynnis. Ernie gives great cuddles, he never used to like cuddles at all until he was about 9mths old and now he loves sitting on laps and cuddling up 😀

@uponreflection one last question if I can, has anyone used a cordless impact driver for opening and closing the ground paddle gear? There must be an attachment or does that take away from the experience?
@czamman hi there, I wouldn't know the answer to this to be honest. I would have thought that using an impact driver would open them too quickly and maybe cause damage to them. I enjoy doing locks and although some can be tough to open etc it's all part of it really 😉

That was only a minimal amount of ice. You could have gone through it easily - it would not have been a repeat of the Titanic and the iceberg.
It was quite thick to start with but did thaw out through the days. Yes we could have gone through it but it damages the blacking and didn't want to damage other boats as we passed 😀
