Hi Chuck I have had the painful thumb several times in my life. I use Voltaron 60mlg tablets the drug name is Diclofenac. I have 2 a day 1 morning 1 night with food for a week and generally that fix's it. Some times some gentle massage can help with the voltaron as well. Ask Jack in your home town. As I am a amputee I have had many issues with over use of my arm and hand. The last time I had a trigger finger release operation on my thumb and I have not had the problem since

End of day they'd divy it up amongst all of the officers so my local friendly cop told me. I like the support you got .it' looks like it will hold your thumb in one place so it can recuperate. When I had the surgery on my shoulder I had to put my arm in a sling for 3 months. It was very restrictive and I am right handed so I was very restricted on what I could do.
Interesting Trip. We are planning a similar trip at the end of October from Mukdahan to Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and so on. I hope we have better weather there.
Weirdly I found the Thai Food in the United States to taste better than most of the Thai food I had in Thailand. Especially in Florida. Tampa area has some terrific Thai restaurants. I did have some good food in Thailand, but on average I preferred my spots in Tampa. If I had a local to show me where to eat, I'd probably have a different experience.

Chuck, possibly you have been chocking your golf clubs shaft on your thumbs with too much pressure and causing your issue with arthritis to flare
