Excellent video on barak express through barak valley. This video is a prize winning one in any photography competition..I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BLOGGER WHO TOOK THE PAIN TO COVER THIS WHOLE TRAIN JOURNEY IN NE SEC OF BARAK VALLEY,ASSAM
This is the beauty of North East. I'm from Tripura I even don't remember how many times I travelled through this way..my uncle is a Loco Pilot(Train Driver) he is stationed in Badarpur Jn Assam I travelled many times with him at locos and the scene is just amazing.. but now broaudgauge railway service started so now train not going through this way but you can still see the old MG track from new BG track.new BG track is not as beautiful as MG but still beautiful..
OMG! Today I remembered When I was 8/9 years old, I rushed from home & watch the train,🚉🚉🚂 I aspect as if i will be in that train.🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂 No words to say 😢😢😢😢😢 _______________________________________ We missed so so much.. Thank you so much for this video.
India's Northeast is really beautiful and definitely a place to explore.. Good that this government is taking taking steps to bring northeast more limelight. Thanks for the video :)
The video brought back my memories of 1982 December when I was working at first job as a probationary officer in State Bank of India, Haflong. Its the mist wonderful place I have ever see in India.
I don't know whether I'll be able to visit North India or not. But thanks for sharing the eye soothing video of Northern Eastern Railways. The scenery, the people and and vegetation made me smile.
This video is extraordinary. What a beautiful railway line with bridges and tunnels. Locomotive engines roar. The tormented landscape is grandiose, angles of view are perfect and the colors are beautiful. The reddish brown of passenger cars contrasts with the richness of the greens of the vegetation. You make me dream that I live in France 7100 km from you. I like the Indian railways with a clear preference for the metric gauge. The YDM 4 diesel locomotives and Jessop passenger cars are incomparably beautiful. Thank you so much for making us enjoy this trip.
I have travelled by this route a number of times during my childhood and the last time was in the year 1996. Every journey has been a breathtaking experience. It is extremely sad that the Indian Railways have simply abandoned this route. At least to keep alive the amazing uniqueness of the route, some portion could be restored and maintained as a relic of bygone years.
Fantastic coverage! I was eagerly waiting for your NFR video and here it is! Awesome coverage Harris and hope you had a wonderful trip! And congo for 6000 subs!
Lots of emotion attached with this historic route every sound of ydm4 have flashbacked me to my childhood when I traveled numbers of time in this route my home route lumding Badarpur mg route .. terrific childhood indeed...
my dad lived his childhood in karimgunj... he became emotional watching this video as he frequently travel this train route that time !!! thanx mate really thanxxx.... bt when is part II coming ?? eagerly waiting !!!!!!! pls upload part 2..
What an amazing video. I can't believe our world can be so beautiful and that too in India. Honestly ,this is on par if not better than the scenic spots of europe. I watch lot of train videos but this one beats all.
Ultimate high quality video of this unsung Meter gauge railway in North east made by the British in 1900. I watched the HD version (worth the bandwidth). Thank you TheRailzone (uploader). Jai Hind... P.S. From 1-Oct-2014 this MG rail section has become history - Broad Gauge Conversion has entered the final phase.
Unfortunately...its not world heritage site...otherwise,indian rly wouldnt have that power to stop this service...like DHR is running to its full glory till date...the locals have not much interested in saving their heritage...nobody even raise their voice to declare world heritage site earlier...now, its gone, rly line is removed...its history now...long live british engineering
I might never see such a spectacular train route maybe, in my life, fearing all the naxal issues there. After 4:40, the blue sky and green hills were just awesome. Thanks for this video
i too seen many rail videos, but so much green , waterfalls iron bridges , i never seen any rail route in india , fantastic route and good video working hats up for risky shooting
This is great. N everytime i feel proud whenever I see a northeast Indian bro or sis. Yeah we have some bastrd in North India which spread racism every time. Ignore them guys. Ur great people whoever read or know about u will never ever judge u by ur look. Com'on u Indian unite India not break India
FYI, this railway line was constructed during British Indian times, 1898 to 1903. So, its > 100 years old. Now, this meter gauge line is no longer operational and is being replaced with the broad gauge line
Wow! I mean WOW!! Too bad my generation doesn't get to experience YDM hauled trains! I love the exhaust note of YDMs. Thank you for posting this video! Cheers! :)
Thank you for uploading this beautiful video among others. It reminded me of the days when I traveled by train, Delhi - Guwahati - Delhi very often and few trips to the South.
So much fun to watch! Nice and scenic train ride. Would like to see also the interior of the train and the locomotives and also some of the train stations. Thanks a lot for posting this video!
If you are a person who travelled this route both on BG & MG, you can notice the difference.....The major difference is that "Harangajao-Lower Haflong" Route....which will make you nostalgic now
Very interesting. My father worked as station master at Tista Junction on the East Bengal Railway 1944-45 when the US Army Transportation Corps operated the line. I always have wanted to see this railroad and the country side.
Aroma of assam is one of the master pieces of beauty yet the most dangerous route in Indian railways. To start with, I appreciate the the thought of attempting it. But, It would have been a better video if some one who loves the nature has taken it rather than the one who fell in weird, obsessive and irretrievable love with the exhaust. I felt like he missed almost all the beauty of the way offered, especially at the places like bridges, streams and the valleys. He might have gone through many dangerous challenges like holding the cam in one hand and balancing him self with the other for hours of standing and as I have mentioned earlier, I appreciate that.
Brilliant.......... spectacular........Miss that route dearly........ Brings back fond memories of my days when I was posted in North Tripura and traveled in that route for quite a number of times...Thank you RailZone for your splendid effort
Missing the MG did you see the speed limits those where 20 and 15 That was different experience Haflong to Silchar would take 9am-7pm. Now with BG and new direction of the tracks. It just takes 4 hours of course the views are different. The MG views where Golden. BG is also not bad though
That's neat. You have one locomotive on the head end pulling and one locomotive on the rear end. That saves wear and tear on the rails. The rear unit also supplies the extra power and provides the air needed for braking. One would have to have courage to ride the tops of those cars over those high trestles.
ViswaNath GummaRaju Thank you for watching , yes some shots were captured from the roof top and the rest on foot-plating from the Locomotive and from the Coaches on board :)
Great Capture..!! Just FYI, the MG line has been recently upgraded to brand new BG track (after a long wait of 18 years), and BG rakes from Guwahati to Silchar city have been pressed to operation as recently as Nov 21st. 2015..!! Welcome one and all to this pristine part of our great Nation and enjoy your smooth and comfortable stay in Assam!!
Asim Ghosh You just need to board a train from Guwahati City to Silchar.. currently 1 train has been put into operation on the newly upgraded boradgauge track on this hill section..!! Have a pleasant ride :)
....excelente video!!, muy buena panorámica de la naturaleza por donde circula la formación...los ríos, los puentes. la vegetación, todo bellísimo!!!!!....
I live in silchar nd yes travelled alott through this route... Its still dangerous.. Nd especially during night journey... Will miss this route aftr bg conversion...

The dhanuk bridge was visible from Jatinga Lampur station until it broke into half and collapsed with the course of time.........
Lovely I really missing my childhood when I love the chugging of these YDM4 Locos 👌😍
Fantastic coverage! I was eagerly waiting for your NFR video and here it is! Awesome coverage Harris and hope you had a wonderful trip! And congo for 6000 subs!

What an amazing video. I can't believe our world can be so beautiful and that too in India. Honestly ,this is on par if not better than the scenic spots of europe. I watch lot of train videos but this one beats all.
Very well documented. You have done justice to the beauty. Thanks.
During my school days, I travelled through this hill section many times. But after seeing this video, I got rejuvenated. Waiting for part 2.....
Thank you so much :)

Right a thing of past now, Thank You so much for watching !
Very beautiful nature views in journey.. YDM4 locos are superb...
Nice, visited this place in the year 1998 and again I will go through this route on 24th March, 2018 by Kanchanjunga Express from Agartala to Lumding.
You must visit post monsoons for the real beauty a lot has changed since the MG gave up to BG line.
This is very bad news. Four mountain railways are preserved in India. This one by its exceptional character merited to be it.
Very sad,,,,it should be declared as world heritage site.
Truth ... If it was preserved then we could have seen an active MG line
But now replaced by BG system, it still follows the same route more or less.
बहुत सुंदर दृश्य है, अच्छा लगा पूरा विडियो,
I love my Indian Railway
I might never see such a spectacular train route maybe, in my life, fearing all the naxal issues there. After 4:40, the blue sky and green hills were just awesome. Thanks for this video
Welcome & Thank You so much for watching !
Krishnan RV there is no naxal issues in north east man!!!!
Not naxal movement....no naxals in NE like mentioned in the comment above...they're all separatist struggles

This is real but unbelievable. We have something that is unique, like the beauty of nature and we are very proud of it.

If you are a person who travelled this route both on BG & MG, you can notice the difference.....The major difference is that "Harangajao-Lower Haflong" Route....which will make you nostalgic now
Yes right ,the BG alignment has completely changed eliminating the sharp curves and hilly routes which is a great miss.

Wow, you'd need nerves of steel to sit on top of that train like those men. How are they not sliding off? Beautiful scenery. Interesting to watch.
Beautiful country - amazing ride! We need more passenger trains in the U.S. - the ones we do have seem to go too fast...
Thank you.
i still miss the journey by metre guage trains.. it was a differemt fun travelling by m. gauge trains..
Very interesting. My father worked as station master at Tista Junction on the East Bengal Railway 1944-45 when the US Army Transportation Corps operated the line. I always have wanted to see this railroad and the country side.

NE is so beautiful...only tourism can bring prosperity to NE while keeping its nature intact.
Awesome, the landscape looks great and the train, well, I just hope everything went well.
Its wonderful to see. It reminds of my childhood.
Niece bro super bro. I like . You are good makaer video's.

Now with BG and new direction of the tracks. It just takes 4 hours of course the views are different. The MG views where Golden. BG is also not bad though
