Hi Colin. Thank you so much for this great video! Very informative! Do you know if the finished 3D file, made in Photoshop, can then be printed out using a 3D printer? We have a Bambu A1 3D printer. (For regular work we have Epson printers) Thank you again.
the toaster got really beautiful texture... does it export as texture to use in another 3d app ? I'm thinking in re-texture a bunch of buildings - from various sources - to get an unified look & feel. meanwhile, really insightfull video ! umoshiroi
Yes a good quick look at this latest offering. Sadly, quality seems to always be an issue with Adobe (like the1024 limit still in generative AI, etc). Thanks for keeping us up-to-date though!
Its a bit complicated to get started but once you suss it out you can drag all types of files in. It's quite good fun . Ive been adding lots of the 3D print files into photos
I would like to tell you what I do when I watch one of your videos. I turn on Transcripts and highlight all the text. Then copy and open text edit app. Paste copied text and then at the top of the first page I put a title. The print it out. Love all your tips and videos.
You don’t have to do all that, I have written steps on PhotoshopCAFE.com for each tut with screen grabs that you can print. I usually add the written a couple of days after the video
Dear Sir, thank you for your tutorial. I've subscribed to the Substance Suite and have created a simple t-shirt in 3D Viewer. I've exported as FBX but when I import it to e.g. Character Creator 4 no file is loaded. Neither GLTF or OBJ will load either Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, from Copenhagen, Adam
Thnx for the tutorial. I imported my own 3d drawing, a 45 mtr high tower which is drawn 1:1 scale, and the background and this tower are not to scale. Anyway I can fix this? Thnx in advance
Dear Colin Smith, I followed your tutorial closely, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to create any images with the generate function-it only produced a blank page. Could it be that this feature isn’t yet fully functional in Israel? Regardless, I look forward to following your next tutorial! Best regards, Avidan Yoram
Great stuff Colin. Jesus Rameriz has also put out some amazing content on this tool, and the Ai generators generally. He has a sort of advantage in that he is using them in his work with Lisa Carney, because he is really getting to grips with them. Do you have any thought on the long term availability of the Substance 3D Viewer? Will it only come with the Substance apps? I was getting those apps originally, but was not using them so chose to let them lapse, but S3DV is too useful a tool to lose.
Hey, Substance 3D Viewer is free ( you don't need any subscription to use it). Long term plans have yet to be defined, but the idea is to keep a free version, so it can be considered as a universal 3D Viewer for everyone. The tool is a month old so at first we want to make sure to make it useful for 3D artists and graphic designers, so feel free to give us feedback ☺️
I’ve also been using it a lot with my commercial work with David Lee Roth. Adobe hasn’t told me how they intended to position in the market. When they do tell me stuff early, it’s NDA. I’d read their blog to see what their plans may be. I understand this was the results of a sneak at MAX. Let’s hope it becomes a free extension with photoshop
@@photoshopcafe substance 3d Viewer is planned to remain a standalone app, connected with Photoshop, and eventually other apps from both CC and Substance 3D ecosystem 😉
Good to see Adobe restoring that 3D function and in such as way as to be easier to use and with the Ai implementation, more relevant.
My next vid will be about the non ai 3D integration with photoshop

things are certainly going in a good direction!
nice to see new technology
It’s interesting where it could go
Is ti good with anthropomorphic models? Wish to know
Can you export the textured 3d model out to use in a 3d program?
I believer you can only export and image or scene, you have to use Substance painter to integrate the texture with a 3D app.

You can change the field of view to match with the background. You can also start in Photoshop with your background. I'll be making that video soon.
Hello, in my case I dont see the Create 3D Models with texts, how does one implement this feature? Thank you.
@@rbaezd on the left bar, the last icon is 'generation': click on it and you should see the option appearing
awesome

It is possible that the feature is not fully rolled out, try again in a few days and if you still have issues, Adobe has forums where you could ask.
yo can you export the textured model that it creates?!?!
No you can’t
Thanks for the clear explanation. Some handsome-looking toasters. Love the DC-3 - I rode in one at age 3 in 1945 from Chile to the U.S.
What a great experience that must have been
You render a toaster and don't include wings, flying in space?! Come on!
lol! good one

If they start like this, just give them some more time and will be WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Nice
Your model airplane was a prop but the generator kept changing the engines to jet or no engines at all. Can't say as I was impressed.
It has a ways to go yup
Is it free, or paid for this 3D.

It’s a free add on right now
Crazy……..
Damn it! Right when I cancel my subscription.. they just find a away to suck me right back in!
@@Instant_Nerf you actually don't need subscription to use Substance 3D Viewer (unless you want to use it with Photoshop)
