Yamaha Inline 4 Crossplane's power is not the problem, Yamaha can make a powerful Inline 4 than V4 but they don't because they need to reduce power to have a rear grip. That's why Quartararo prefer lower HP version than base engine. It's the geometry of the bike. Using V4 can make a good chassis because it can shift weight a little back, Inline 4 is front heavy and Yamaha is struggling to make a rear traction.

That's why they have to convert to V4.

The inline 4 has enough power, the issue here is that based on the cylinder structure the inline 4 is wider than the v4, at 300 KPH that extra few centimetres creates so much air drag, that makes the bike slower at the top end than another V4 bike with fewer horsepower. It's all a compromise between power and aerodynamics.

The problem with Yamaha is that they have changed the engineering base characteristic of the M1 CP4 Inline and lifted the center of gravity. They forgot how Furusawa specifically designed the M1 to perform at its best. Furusawa lowered and perfected the center of gravity of the bike with its engine placement base to in line with the characteristics of the CP4 engine to perform at its best. Since Furusawa left, they've changed the bike away from that aspect and the performance of the bike have been going down in the spiral. CP4 M1 engine still has a lot of power to give as per furusawa which had to chose 2 types between a screamer and a big bang. Vale chose the big bang but with a tamed engine spec and that's the current engine. But the power that CP4 can give is really high, I remember the graph shown by furusawa back in the days and I was amazed with the Engine. Even Furusawa believed the CP4 Engine will last in MotoGP for more than 2 decades. It's all about the bike's set-up, electronics, chasis, geometry, aero. the Engine is already a beast. I remember Furusawa said, CP4 has the firing power of V4 and performance of inline combine. so changing to V4 is not necessary.

@@MusicLifeVideo ah yes I'm sure Yamaha forgot how to make their bike work 🤣
The reality is that ride height devices and aero advancements in recent years have nullified the advantages that I4s had in stability, packaging, and weight distribution. Whether the 850cc era redresses that balance remains to be seen, but I'd wager a V4 will continue to be the engine of choice for a could of reasons:
      1. It's narrower so you have more room to fit aero within the regulations
      2. You can basically run any crankpin offset you want with a 90° V4 for optimum traction (Ducati uses 80° if I'm not mistaken)
      3. You don't need to run any kind of balancer with a 90° V4, unlike a CP4

Personally I don't think the V4 will solve Yamaha's problems. As others have mentioned, Honda is running a V4 and how is that going for them? They just need a BETTER engine, regardless of configuration. That's the main difference between Ducati and the rest, the Ducati simply makes more power, they have a better-designed, more efficient engine.

The ducati is balanced, precise and stable.

In my opinion, Yamaha has been improving recently (more specifically, since the Aragon GP) because of these reasons:
    1) It had closed the gap relative to Aprilia and KTM since the Aragon GP.
    2) Both Fabio and Rins had made Q2 appearances on a semi-regular basis in the recent Grands Prix.
    3) Related to the previous point, Fabio and Rins had shown the ability to fight for Top 10 finishes more effectively thanks to the improved Yamaha bike. Bonus points go to Fabio who not only has finished almost every feature race within the Top 10 since Misano R1, but also fights for a Top 5 feature race finish occasionally thanks to his raw talent as well.
    4) Unlike Honda, Yamaha goes for a more strategic approach for improving the bike, which turns out to be much more effective than Honda's methods of improving their bike.
Conclusion: While it will still take some time to bring the bike back to the front, Yamaha overall has been slowly but surely improving throughout the season as they are now closer to the gap to Aprilia and KTM than Honda. Besides, while the next season will very likely be a Ducati dominance yet again, it also opens a chance for Yamaha fighting for regular Top 10 finishes or even a podium finish in sprint and feature races due to Pramac Racing joining Yamaha next year, which in turn gives Yamaha a big W for improving the bike.

Test a flatplane inline 4 vs the V4 bike though. The crossplane inline 4 is slower than everyone else's flatplane. Suzuki's bike was as fast as the V4s in MototGP and BMW is as fast as the V4s in WSBK. It can be done. Crossplane might have been the move in 2003, but that was over 20 years ago. The Crossplane obviously doesn't have the same performance ceiling and you've been banging your head on that ceiling for several years now.

2025 season yamaha corrects its mistakes, has a satellite team.
how can you develop quickly if you rely on input from 2 riders' data, ducati to achieve its current success got input from 8 riders.

Why FQ when he with PETRONAS SPRINTA RACING TEAM performance so good but when he leaves the team to go to MONSTER ENERGY YAMAHA he performed so bad..?..the answer is the MOTORCYCLE itself and who built it..😂😅

Copying is never going to work now everyone will have a Ducati style engine. They need to remove traction control and rider aides!

It's not the engine it's the entire package starting with the frame
Ducati's electronics is what separates them for example the ride height device
Ducati was always fast even when Honda and Yamaha were dominating
The Ducati in a straight line was savage but lacking in other areas
If it was the engine every bike would use the same exact engine

Ride height device is purely mechanic btw.
No electronics in this system allowed.
