I feel like with this Colin Farrell has to get some kind of award. He's definitely going to be up for some nominations with this show. They're going to be able to delve much deeper into his character, so him not getting any awards will almost be a crime.
Jaby, watch Gotham, it has great Cast for the Gotham villains, brilliant portrayals. In the whole list of villains that appear there, Penguin and Riddler makes the viewer root for them. And Gordon/Harvey Bullock, oh chef kiss.
Gotham is absolutely worth watching. The show is gorgeous, weird, sexy, funny and just fun! And you get a ton of corruption in that show. As for The Penguin. Looks awesome! I really don't see Colin Farrell in that character, which is a testament of the make up department and of course his acting abilities.
With Penguin wanting to rise to power after falcones death, the show is gonna deal with Sophia and Alberto falcone battling for the gothams underworld against the Penguin. I think him and Sophia might have a love hate relationship. Clancy brown is also appearing as Sal Maroni, so Penguin already has a few antagonists in the show
To one of your points, the series "Gotham" really does dive into the corruptness of Gotham City, from the police and government officials, to the Villains. Gotham itself is like it's own character that helps create the DC Heroes and Villains of Gotham that we're most familiar with today. Not the best series, but definitely a good...interesting watch. Might be fun to do a watch-along reaction series on Gotham.
Not a masterpiece show but it's a fan favourite show. And it does alot of amazing work with the heroes villains and gotham itself was so well realised. Not to mention the penguin on it was INCREDIBLE
Tony SoPenguin - looks good - and you're right how Farrell blossoms in this role - the makeup may be liberating for him - Turturro's brilliant Falcone was so real and horrifying, almost Satanic - maybe it's good we got just a taste - whereas this Oswald does look like he can easily carry a series - he's easier to bear, more movielike, whereas Turturro felt like real life
You should totally check it out… penguin is really good in it too… you see how dirty and corrupt Gotham is in that show too… and Jerome Valeska steals the show😂❤
Gotham is entertaining, but gets a bit campy (need to not over think it and just take it for what it is). The penguin in Gotham is a different take than we had seen too, but it’s not this HBO penguin. At least not by the trailer and movie. I liked Gotham but it’s not A+ material.

Collin Farrell did pretty good as the Penguin in The Batman, and can’t wait to see him crush it again in this miniseries.
