I can't think of the last season premiere of a show that had my eyes glued to the screen from beginning to end, no hyperbole. First off excellent writing by Lauren LeFranc with vivid dialogue and intense scenes. Secondly, the acting is masterclass especially from Colin Farrell who completely disappears once again as Oz but in a much significant role and Cristan Miloti is a pure unapologetic scene stealer. Finally, the atmosphere is so connected to the Matt Reeves Batmanverse that you can watch the 2022 film and this series right after, it just flows perfectly. If I had 3 arms I'd give it 3 Thumbs Way Up, and can't wait for more.
I like how they're showing Penguin's soft spot for people who were bullied (dude with the stutter), his soft spot for his mother, and his motivation for being ambitious coming from a place of not wanting to feel inadequate.
Growing up, Penguin never was my favorite villain. Everyone else's story seemed more fleshed out, and they had more overt, intimidating powers. But I never would have guessed he'd jump from a small-fry villain, to someone much bigger than I ever thought. Funny that it's a point of the show. Love Colin Farrell and his portrayal along with every aspect of this show. Making me put some respect on Oz.
This was a great episode but I especially loved seeing Oswald (possibly for the first time) having a friend at the end. That and the interaction with his mother deepens the character and it's wonderful.
The truth is that Victor didn't expect it and surprised me, he has potential. And he has become the Robin of the Penguin Mafia. And he makes it clear that a character that has been seen as ridiculous should never be seen in a harmful way and questioned.❗❗ How great it has been 😍😍🐧🐧🐧🐧
oh wow i used to work at the location used for Buddy's at the end, Bar Velo on the edge of Williamsburg. Loved that job. They shot lots of Gotham and the SNL Joker parody about Oscar the Grouch further down Broadway where I lived then. Cool area.
I think you are one of the first reactors I've seen who have picked up the Burgess jeweler's reference. Good job. I loved the Burgess Meredith Penguin as a kid. The purple car is likely also a nod to Batman 66. Most of that Penguin's vehicles and toys were colored purple.
👩🏾💻👩🏾💻 Y'all have to ABSOLUTELY make time to watch "9 to 5"!! Judging by some of the movies you guys like I believe ya'll will love it. Great reaction, as always 🙋🏾♀️🙋🏾♀️💜💜
Is this going to be a Thanos/Gamora situation where in order for Penguin to become who he truly is, he has to sacrifice that "good" part of him which ends up being Vic in the end?

It turns out Mick Giacchino is Michael Giacchino’s son. That talent runs in the family!

"Simon Phoenix! Lie down... on the ground... or else!!" And that's where Robert's shirt comes in.
"Exactamundo!!!"
Olé
"so long ago" it does feel like forever. i don't have time to rewatch The Batman so i'll just jump right in here lol
Same here.
I’m glad a Giacchino is doing the score for this show too! Can’t wait to hear what he comes up with.
Crazy to see DC actually building out a universe from scratch.
Wow was the last decade a waste from them 😅

Matt Reeves said The Batman won’t be turning up in this show , maybe we get to see Bruce instead
For those who watched Gotham Vic reminded me of Martin who Penguin also took under his wing.
i haven't watched Gotham iam debating it, is it worth it?
@@RandyReviews1990 Gotham's really good, and it's an alternate timeline and more feels like the Burton films. However, it's very well done
Man Clancy Brown continues to show up in everything this year
As he should, he’s a seriously underrated actor.
He’s a fantastic actor and voice actor
Kurgan (😉) has been going strong almost as long as I've been alive - he's BRILLIANT!
9:27 "take him under your wing" 😂

@@LatetotheParty And Aguilar means "Eagle," so they're keeping with the bird theme... 🐧🦅
Cristin Milioti better win an Emmy next year
Her eyes alone deserve a nomination. 👀 💜
Cristin Milioti is hands down the most intriguing performance! Amazing show but her Sofia Falcone is phenomenal!
Wonder if James Gunn will put Christian Milotti in the DCU Movies as a villain with Powers it a GREEN LANTERN

12:20 the dinner scene is a call back to how Penguin would eat in the Tim Burton film

I called the Burgess out immediately too. Robbie, good job buddy! Thanks for the review guys, love you.
This show is off to an incredible start. Just give Cristin Milioti her Emmy now, my GOD
The Premise of '9 to 5' is that of hard-done-by workers rise up and overthrow the boss

Just sayin. It’s really good. 😊
Lovvveee This DC universe
U guys should react to boondocks
I have a sinking feeling that Victor won’t make it to the end of the series, and that Oz will be the reason. 😢
It's Cobb not Cobblepot
Relax
Don't get the point in recasting a dead character 😅
Flashbacks maybe??
Where in the hell is your reaction to superman the christopher reeves story?.you are one of a few channels that have yet to react to it.
I need Agatha all along episode 3 and 4 pls I don’t have anything else to watch it on pls 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Even if they got the screeners which released the 1st 4 episodes I really don’t think they can release those reactions until they come out offically
