As a student at the University of Cambridge, it was crazy seeing the amount of support Jordan got for his talk at the union recently - with over a thousand people queueing upwards of 4 hours for the chance to see him in a venue with a maximum capacity of 400. It's jaw dropping that the overwhelming support for this man was ignored by the University, which instead chose to listen to a minority of people who opposed his visit, on the ridiculous grounds of a photo.

Accountability is for behavior. Genetics shouldn’t reap credit nor shame. Some who crave control are wanting to undermine accountability itself, holding people responsible for the behavior of others.
If I wasn’t directly involved, it wasn’t my behavior. I made no choice. If I wasn’t yet born, this is even simpler. Hold me not accountable for my genetics nor the behavior of others, as neither deserves credit nor blame.
Words and actions, by others, give me neither pride nor shame. My DNA, determined prior to birth, is no source for pride nor shame.

Every discussion and each subject in his book was his one sided opinion. I couldn't make myself to accept it, even regardin the parts that I actually had a similar points of view with him. So on my final exam, all my essay answers were the exact opposite of what he was professing. I ended up with lowest passing grade (the majority were very high grades and no one was failed). I see the issue with females in power everywhere.
Females are fantastic. But being leaders with a mind that uses emotion to make decisions isnt a trait that is desirable for a leader.
Theres a reason kings and great thinkers and leaders were never women. Its not because they arent necessary, beautiful and amazing creatures.
Its because leaders think with logic not emotion.
      Just look at female cops.
They are either called quota hires because they are only hired because the departments have to hire them to meet quotas.

Access to a conversation like this, 24/7, free, nearly anywhere on the planet through a device that is almost universally possessed by anyone who even marginally functions in society has enormous impact on human life. I imagine the Ottowa truck drivers on the road listening to this level of discourse and formulating their opinions. It gives me hope that the average human being has more than enough intelligence, faith and reason to motivate them to stand up to the arrogance of the power elite and the weak tyrants who are manipulated by them.

My uni age kids keep telling me that many of the view points that seem so prevalent on social media currently don’t really reflect their peer’s views. These very vocal minorities appear to be doing a fantastic job of suppressing what are quite fair challenges from people who are actually reasonable and kind. When I was young The Boy in the Bubble was a movie (kid had no immunity and lived in a 'bubble'). Today, it is 'the' manner by which children are reared and raised, long past 'maturity'. Raised inside and completely detached from nature and its power; dis-associated from human relationships, supplanted with 'technology'; and seldom, if ever, having repeated opportunities to make decisions and suffer the consequences as an individual- like making a bike ramp too steep and getting road rash. Cause and effect- natural laws. Those instances are real, not the 'theoretical' realm that seems to be the ONLY place many can currently survive in. All I know, is that if Judgement Day comes any time soon, I'm sitting in the Catbird Seat.

The sheer magnitude of how much they hammered on Jordan Peterson is unfathomable. It would make any man break. It was extraordinary cruelty and now he gets to join back in the great adventure. Decades of stupendous speaking and course work and care by this man met the brick wall of young ignorance only for so many of them later to go "ooooo. I see now". Emm-hmm.
They didn't just judge the whole man, they judged the pieces and then the pieces of the pieces of a man. That shattering was unworthy.
I have a different style when that comes at me. It's not gracious like him. I pretty much flip the bird to it. He handled it like a champ and a diplomat on a flaming tightwire and never once lost his tongue. Unbelievable.

How things have changed. I remember in the 1970s when the words 'student protest' was common parlance. When I went to university in the 1990s I saw with my own eyes how dictatorial the education system was. There was (is) no room for public debate and the expectation was that you didn't question the tutors to come to a common consensus. The idea was that if you wanted good grades, you didn't voice your opinions or theories, let alone discuss them. The theme was to regurgitate exactly what you were told as verbatim as possible to allow you to pass your exams

Well I like how he continues to address the free speech issue since that is first caught my attention with bill C 16. For all the explanations about hierarchy structures look at what the privileged few at the top do with their power and it's no wonder there is so much resentment and inequality in society. Then the poor are like crabs in a bucket climbing over each other because they feel powerless and are at the mercy of a few wealthy prestigious folks who may not even be qualified for their positions.
