  • This is my 1986 Honda Civic Si, the first year of the Si available in the United States, representing an awesome combination of economy, utility, reliability, and a giant dollop of fun.
This car was originally owned by a lady out in Oregon, so it's 100% rust free, and not modified, & 100% stock. Technically I am the third owner, the second owner had it shipped from Oregon out to the midwest, and he only owned it a few months before a move forced him to sell it.
It's crazy to think that the engineers who worked on this car are likely retired/deceased; I bet they had no idea of the longevity of the Si nameplate!

This was my first new car. I really loved that car, on longer trips it got around 40 MPG. Fun to drive! Got about 200K on it should have never given it up!

My mom bought that car brand new and when I turned 15 in 95’ I bought it. I loved that car. Wish I still had it. I was driving on the highway one day and I opened the sun roof and it flew off 😢

I see you have an Insight as well, that was my second Honda replacing the Civic in 2002.

I love them both for what they are and you have a tough choice indeed. I was lucky enough after searching for a while to get a bone stock 90 Si a few months ago. I love watching your videos and how much you appreciate these cars. I know one thing, I wish I had your luck finding these cars in good condition stock. That being said, If you end up wanting to sell the 90 Si please let me know. Then again the 86 is a beauty as well. I look forward to watching you figure out your conundrum and to offering my services!

Pretty much never find them unmolested like this, so when I do find them, I jump on them if I have space. They're so fun to drive!

Keep the ef chassis. It's already got GC's on it and Im personally more of a fan of that chassis. You'll get a decent amount of money for it, being it's in such good shape and unmolested minty ones are getting harder and harder to find. It's not great to let them sit for that long either. Cars should be driven at the end of the day and when you let them sit things start going to shit.
