For those complaining that the meat is too rare, this is what we call "medium" or "medium rare" in the industry. True rare meat, especially in steakhouses is dark red and actually cool (basically uncooked) in the center. Please stop exaggerating.
callmechia if it is cool inside when ordered rare you cant sell it if the center did not received heat it's dangerous, but i still eat it even raw ^^ have a nice day
Only in some states of the USA and some Middle Eastern countries. In most of the world, and that includes the majority of the USA, you can ask for it "blue" and it will come cold in the middle.
@Fiora Emerald that me everytime i go to a steak restaurant, i can't stand it when they cook the flavor out of my food, some things might need to be well done, but please leave some moo in my beef
Francis's self control- Level OVER 9000 ^-^
without question, best cooking show on youtube
I love how the chief's pepper grinder is electric. Pretty cool!
02:14 - 02:18 Francis is savoring the smell before he goes: "YUM!"
I just made this tonight and it is REALLY delicious! I forgot to grab Dashi stock, so I used chicken stock instead and the sauce still came out delicious!
Also, instead of pouring a lot of sauce over the meat, I poured a little on to keep it moist, and then poured some sauce in a bowl to dissolve wasabi in. The meat tastes DELICIOUS dipped in it! =)
Thanks Francis and Chef! =)
I might try it then. I managed to get my hands on some mirin, the dashi stock was the only ingredient I couldn't find so I'll try chicken stock.
沢山ある料理動画の中からCooking with Dogがホームの一番上に配信されて来てとても幸せです。シェフさんのお料理はとても分かりやすいです、ありがとうございます。😊🐰
There's always something in all of your videos that make the whole experience happy. That makes you different and better than any other cooking shows.
It's incredibly simple to 'roast' beef this way. It's actually a solution to the problem where oven is not available. Thanks you very much for a wonderful recipe.
Frencis' flower in its hair!!!!! Awwwwwwww sooooo VERY cute!
Dog is awesome! So are the people and recipes. This series rocks
Dashi stock is a clear broth made by simmering kombu seaweed and bonito flakes :) Dried baby sardines and shiitake mushrooms are also used to make dashi.
The brand name of the burner is "Miyabi" and it is sold by Iwatani, Japanese gas and energy supply company :)
I swear these videos are so therapeutically calming
Actually, the brand name of the burner is AMORFO PREMIUM (アモルフォ プレミアム), not MIYABI (雅).
I hope Frances got a little bit of the roast beef as a treat for being so patient, love your videos!
I usually serve a beef dish on New Year's Eve. I'll give this a try! Happy New Year, Chef-san. It is so wonderful to have you back with Francis!
Its the voice man, that dog has an awesome voice. Its like lukewarm honey being gently ladled into your ears on a cold day.
The first 5 seconds of this video made me drool. This looks amazing.
Chef's lovely smile is always my favourite moment of the show. She's the best!
I'm doing this recipe right now with home made dashi stock. It's simmering in the pot with the stock, mirin, and soy. Plan to serve it with white rice and veggies. Wish me luck!
+Rebecca Jimenez How was it?
Absolutely delicious. Had to increase my cooking time since my roasts were a bit bigger. Otherwise, it was absolutely delicious with white rice.
Even the way she pours the liquids into the pot is soothing.
(Nods) "Mffiii". And that's how you know it is good cooking! I love both Chef and Francis and everything they cook!
These slices of beef look so yummyyyyy ! Love it when it's pink like that ~ It's so tender !
和風ローストビーフのレシピ、とても助かります。
毎年スーパーで買ってしまうのですが今年は作ってみようと思います。
ありがとうございました。
Most beloved chef on TH-cam!
I've always belived that Roast Beef is an old time recipe that all main cooks of a house hold should know how to make, this will be awsome for me to make!
this is the best show on youtube ever
its so soothing to watch after having a really crappy day and calms me down
Chef You're definitely my cooking hero ! I wish you a very good year ,and Francis too ! And also to all your viewers ,!
happy new year francis and chef! wanted to thank you for the tip with checking the meat's temp with the skewer. i did this for a saddle of lamb i cooked new year's eve and when i cut into it after letting it rest, it was perfect.
I really love the subtitles you added. It makes it easier for people, who need to look up a word or two, to understand the recipe. Is there any chance to add in brackets the length in cm? Since I find it really hard to imagine a quarter inch using centimetres all the time.
What a great recipe! I bet this would be great for use in bento as well. Francis was so cute at 1:35, sitting there and dreaming of roast beef!
Hehe the dogs ear looks so cute! My dogs fluffy fur looks like that after a nap too!
結局どの動画よりもこの人の動画が一番飯テロだったりする
I'm so glad that the sweet head chef there is doing much better. I remember that back in Feb 2012 she was a bit sick and in the ICU. Yokatta anata ga daijobu chourinin-san!
Alright so my japanese is limited, but I'm still happy you're looking well.
Que buenooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
saludos y felices fiestas desde Andalucia España Sevilla.
Its funny the way the dog just sitting there lol and recipes look delish too
I'm so happy to see the chef has made a full recovery. Looks delicious, I will prepare for my wife this weekend. Thx cwd!!
Awesome! I live in south Florida so I don't like to use my oven. This is a super way to fulfill my craving for roast beef using only my stove.
Nice video! It's a coincidence that I have been doing this method for the past month. I learned it in college & is a great way to prepare beef! Shout out from Yuasa-cho!
This one is to die for.
That's gotta be the quickest roast beef I've ever seen!
I always asked to myself how to make that light pink color in the meat. Delicious
Look at that round! For an inexpensive cut, that's nicer marbling than any of the 'expensive' beef i can find in my local supermarket.
i can tell francis really likes this one!
Doing this for my new year's dinner right now!
The cook is the most adorable person!
i love your video's! so grateful your channel exist!
The cook really is so talented - it's so nice to watch
I love how you adjusted the opening subtitles chef says so that it fits JUST above the pop-up add, so thoughtful ^_^
Happy holidays and soon the new year! Roast beef color is so pretty xD
I love that lazy-pepper-grinder. I need one in my life.
Chef, you're so cute while eating the roast! I hope you're having a good holiday Chef!
2:14 smelling smelling :D
I can't stop thinking how it could taste with salmon... I'm starving now!
Japanese beef just looks so much better!
Chef is so adorable!!
お褒め頂きうれしいです!これからもがんばりますね。次はブリしゃぶです!
Great tip for checking the temperature of the beef. Wasabi tastes so good with rare roast beef, we have used it many times!
You might try for garnish water cress, the peppery taste is great with beef!
I don't check comments but has anyone else noticed how obedient the dog is, it never tries to go for the food.
Happy new year! Chef-san and Francis !!!
Chef looks so adorable when she's eating the roast meatxD
i love this channel. the voice and the video is so relaxing to watch!
It looks so tasty! My mouth is watering just watching this. Also, Chef's sweater is fantastic!
Quick question though: what's the purpose of soaking the thinly sliced onions in the ice water? Is it just to cool the onion down before serving?
Only chef could get a fist sized piece of meat to cook medium rare within 30 minutes. Love these videos, keep up the great content! :) Francis is adorable as always!
Off topic from the video, but Chef's shirt is totally adorable. Very fashionable, if I do say so myself.
This recipe looks super delicious! I need to try this sometime.
I never claimed it to be a bad thing by any means. In fact, I may actually try this sometime and quite enjoy it.
美味しそーーう!!!!!!!!!ローストビーフを作ってみたいと思ってたので参考にさせてもらいます!
Love these videos, there's always something around the corner that sparkles a smile even a laugh out loud moment. Happy New Year to you and

Looks delicious as always!
What could be better than art you can eat?
Oh. My. God! This looks SOSOSOOOOOOOOOOOO delicious!
Poor Chef was still trying to chew it and say how good it was! I think that speaks for itself.
As always, I love watching your videos :D

超おいしそー♡
3:44 to 3:56.. everything was so silent, my mouth was wide open as Chef sliced the beef. For a minute there I could almost taste that succulent beef!
I just made roast beef and this looks so much better.
Happy new year for you and your family :)
There's something funny in the accent, not purely Japanese. I can't put a finger on it, but it makes the video all the more enjoyable :)
Looks so good! Do you serve it with rice also?
Oishi~! So cute Chef-San!
That looks gorgeous! I'm definitely going to try this.
I love the show, i learn new things every time i see it. From Belgium
rare is the best way to go! yumm...
Soaking the onion slices in ice water will reduce the pungent taste :)
Waoh the technique you used to check the meat is completly new to me, from now on im going to use it thank you vm
