Cheap Chinese inverter drive (VFD) part 1 - tear down, inspection and safety check

For an upcoming project, I recently purchased a very cheap Chinese VFD ( Huanyang) and decided to look inside before i power it up.

Actually for 2 reasons, checking electrical safety and also look at the components to get an idea how realistic the rating on the name plate might be.
The plate says It is rated for 220V/240V single or 3 phase input, Output is 220V, 3kW, 0-400Hz.
Considering price (less than $150) and origin, it is hard to believe that this rating is real, and in particular a continuous rating.
