It looks great. Awesome video! My issue with the BLS system is that the brushed motors were in affordable models that were generally aimed at younger drivers. A 7 year old doesn’t have any issues driving a brushed 2wd Slash around. Make that brushless and it starts to get away from being accessible. Yes i know there is training mode. When grandma and grandpa buy these for jr on christmas they will have zero idea about this. I worked at a hobby shop for a while, including during the christmas rush and saw this every single day. The next part is the cost. The brushed motors were cheap to replace, especially for a kid on an allowance. $40 vs $20 adds up over time. The ESC is also $20 more if needing to be replaced. We all know how that goes with Traxxas. For adults, it’s fine. But for growing the hobby on the low end side i don’t see this as the best move.

I converted my 3.0 back to a 2.0 because of the strange wheelbase! I wanted to run more standard 257-260mm wheelbase bodies Oh, and 40mph isn’t good enough ;) I ripped all the nasty brushed electronics out and installed the high speed gearing with a Castle 5700 and Sidewinder 3. It’s an absolute missile! I’m guessing 70+. I have a newer AVC receiver installed to help tame the beast and make me look awesome. Haha

Badass looking car, an even better video. Matt your videos are above the professionals at Traxxas. Old or New, I'd buy it just after watching this video. Awesome job Matt. Can't wait to see your brazin mullet chassis finished. I'm still trying to get mine done for a snow crawl on New years day. Happy holidays Mr Matt from the PNW
Great video! I am torn between getting this exact setup or finding a 3.0 hot rod coupe and adding this system to it once it’s available separately. The price is pretty much the same, and I’m putting way too much thought into it for something I really, really don’t need!
Cool car and great video, I used to own a Grabber Blue Ford GT 4-Tec 2.0 a year ago but i traded it away last year and started to miss it so i thought about getting another 2.0 this new BL-2s one or a VXL or trying to find a 3.0 Corvette C8 in good condition. I know the Corvette C8 4-Tec 3.0 is discontinued but i'm hoping if i go that route i can find a good affordable one or worst comes to worst i'll just buy the 2.0 BL-2s model and get a clear Ford GT body for it.

Can't fit your booger hooks into the fender wells of an on-road. If they put them on the bottom, the ground would be knocking the body off all the time. So...
love the looks of the car however my roads here in California are not smooth enough for on-road cars but I really like seeing the switch to brushless standard from Traxxas i want the new stampede 4x4 to sit next to my other stampedes, can't have too many of those, well that's what I keep telling myself

I found a fastback Mustang clear body to work with; now I'm just looking for someone who can paint a tribute livery on this beauty. Do you think you can help me out? 😎🇺🇸
fun fact this chassis identical the the 4tec 2,0 70mph one traxxas sells both so if you want a 70mph chassis and the same body just buy the 4tex 2,0 vxl chassis its the same wheel base as the one sbg has and same body mounts
It is a great car. The stock tires arw too soft and disappear after 3 or 4 hard runs. Get a set of foams and never look back. Get a set of Yoko DRA drift tires with a gyro and you can look back.
What pinion and spur gears are in it? Are they the same as the xl-5 version? I already have the xl-5 version and I’m interested in installing this system in it.
I’m not sure, best thing to do would be to look at the product pages on Traxxas’ website. They might be the same, but can’t confirm as I don’t have the XL5 version.
Curious if the redcat impala bodies are able to fit on the 2.0 to do sort of a resto mod look. Ha anyone tried it or does anyone have both that they can do a test fit?
Matt my dear man you are a master at the media game , your camera skills I have to say 😂 those at Vanquish should've made the job offer Remote 🤦🏽♂️ cause your abilities could be a major asset for companies Sir 🫡 , but congrats on a Great Job with filming 💯🍻

Great video. The 2.0 platform is much more versatile then the 3.0 platform (loads of body, tire and other options). I have the 2.0 VXL-version they released a couple years ago. 2S is nice, 3S rips (and rips your tires 😅)

Unfortunately, true to Traxxas becoming a VERY greedy company, they are putting this BL-2S system into almost everything they can.
