      It won't run 3s stock. That's a 2s motor unless you got the vxl version but this one isn't vxl

    I had a nitro 4tec probably 12-15 years ago. Back then they were still using a metal chassis.

    Weight is important to keep the car stable controllable. Light weight will make it out of control and feel like a cheap toy. I prefer heavy cars of course provide it have the right setup

    @DarkSpice84 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You make valid points but the weight segment felt like a really weak argument. Its hard to argue "only 2 pounds difference" when in reality the infraction is 63% heavier. Context is everything.

    I hit 90 and still had some left. Stock internals, 48t/41t. No mod1 necessary.

      @What_Say_You ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, why stop at just 90? If ya ain't got any proof, just say 190, 290, etc., 🤨 or let's see some video for these outrageous claims my friend!

    What tires are you using? Can you keep it straight using the stock tires? I've seen some just spin in circles when it's up to speed...

    Cool video and some useful info since i might be buying a 2nd one i had a Ford GT model before i traded it away with a couple other cars for an X-Maxx. But this time i might get another brushed one and mod it into a VXL one or get a VXL one from the start. I currently have an XO-1 and a Rlaarlo AK-917 carbon chassis version.

    The 4tec is meant as a box stock class for onroad racing, not speed runs. So you know...

    Old video I know, but I own both the 4tec 2.0, 3.0 ans the HPI Sprint and Sport cars....
    4tec is better built than HPI and the rock in the steering problem is WAY worse on the HPI.

    rock problem can be resolved with dust guards and dirt guards. the evxl combo is stupid hugenand unecessary big in my opinion.

    Considering you have a huge battery in it, that likely adds almost another pound, but gives you no more voltage, only longevity. A stock 3s 5000mah battery is MORE than enough, especially if you’re doing speed runs. I have NO idea why you’d have that big battery in there, if you were complaining about weight. You’re not gonna go any faster with 6700mah of 11.1v than you will with 5000mah of 11.1v.
    Besides that, I’ll agree with the rock issue.

    Take the battery out and weigh it. The total weight all depends on the battery so take that out of the equation.

    I don't know if you reply to comments often but I had a question I can't really seem to find online. I was looking at buying a 4 Tec 2.0 but one of the common criticisms I've seemed to find is that the rear wheel offset isn't standard without using the stock wheels. From what I can tell from your video (I don't currently know a lot about the car so I may be wrong) you aren't using the stock wheels but it seems like your front and rear track width is the same? From my understanding the 4 Tec 1.0 had the same offset front and rear, but the 2.0 doesn't. I've seen one video on TH-cam of someone removing the rear hex's and adding wider hexes from a Stampede, but apparently that doesn't give enough width to allow standard touring wheels on the rear. I can't really see a lot of people commenting on the issue but I guess that's because this chassis isn't raced, and if it is, it seems to be with stock setups. I'm just curious what my wheel and tire options would be before I buy one, so I managed to find this "issue" before I bought anything thankfully. What did you do to the rear of your car to widen it if I may ask?

    I never understood the people who can "drive" straight vs the people who actually can drive turn left to go right tyoe of people. Just saying. Pedal down let off when loose then back on power. Eh more driver skill in turning left to go right. Just saying.

    Traxxas transmitter or horrible they use some kind of grease that makes the trigger and steering sticky not smooth.
