- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome evaluation and scheduling surgery prior to my 2025 AT through hike attempt #appalachiantrailthruhike #appalachiantrail #appalachiantrailclassof2025 #hiking
As an older hiker myself, I'm glad to see this type of AT hike prep video, as I am going thru a similar set of preps myself, for next year's long section hikes, so thanks.
I thru-hiked the AT this year and I am in the process now of going through my pictures. I noticed on June 19th I had a picture of a cooler of trail magic left at a road crossing in MA with a sign that I believe mentions your TH-cam channel. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your kindness in leaving some cold drinks during that intense heatwave at the time. It was such a nice surprise and boosted our moral to finish our miles for the day. Best of luck to you on your thru hike attempt next year! Remember... No Pain, No Rain, No Maine!
Yes! That particular week was so hot and I wanted to do something to help. Congrats on completing your through hike and thanks for the comments.
Prayers for speedyvrecovery
I had carpal tunnel 35 years ago but, took it easy so I didn't get the surgery. I got called up for Desert Storm and teamed up with a Physical Threapist for morning runs. It was kinda funny two 40+ year olds running together while all of the kids passed us. She taught me a stretching excercise for my wrists that has worked for 34 years now. Hands together against your sternun, fingers pointed up and heals of hands touching. Slowly turn wrists away from you. When you feel your wrists get tight, hold it for a little bit, then back off. Repeat this whenever your wrists feel tight. With time you will loosen your wrists and get a lot less pain from them. Wear wrist braces at night. Remember that people tend to develop tunnel vision and only see their solution. Surgens seem to be this way. Good Luck, Rick
Thank you for the advice and the stretching exercise. I will definitely try this.
