I hope you didn’t throw away that clogged Sawyer filter. Seems like a great opportunity for a video outlining how to properly overhaul one and review results.
When I overhaul my Mini (yeah, I know) it flows faster than a BeFree new out of the box.
The process I follow is that I backflush the filter five times in a 4:1 mix of very hot but not steaming DISTILLED water and white vinegar, then soak the filter in the same mixture for an hour. The vinegar soak will break apart minerals that are caught up in the filter.
Once complete, I backflush another ten times with equally hot DISTILLED water, (no vinegar this time), knocking the side of the filter on a countertop, padded with a towel, between each backflush to loosen debris inside.
If the filter has dried and sat for a few months, i also find that it helps to prep it before taking it into the field by soaking it in very hot distilled water (again, no vinegar) for an hour the night before I leave. If I’m driving, I just fill a liter Nalgene up with hot distilled water, toss the filter in, and screw it shut. It’ll be fine by the time I reach the trailhead. It’s important that the Nalgene is filled with water to the top when the filter is inside.
The filter sort of bobs in there, so you have to sort of push it down into the water and then quickly screw the top shut before the filter starts to bob.

11:39 I've heard people say to steer away from freeze-dried meals with red sauce, and intuitively, that makes sense to me. It's hard to reconstitute tomato sauce and make it taste good. You really like that Mountain House Spaghetti?
11:43 Complete fail here to highlight the very best candy bar. Take 5! Hold it up! Talk about how it's sweet and salty, chocolatey, but peanut buttery! Caramely with a pretzel crunch.
11:55 someone turned me on to those Salt Stick fast chews. I really like them. ..but you put them in your water? You're supposed to chew them while you're drinking your water. Haha. You're doing it wrong! :p
Looking forward to your AT videos.

Awesome loadout. I was wondering how you managed to get double-ended stuff sacks made out of Ultra. I told Ben at Hilltop Packs that he needs to offer custom-printed hammock stuff sacks. :)

Waterproof bags for the tarp and hammock come in handy to keep things dry. I made 3 of the bags. Miyagi made one.

I’m planning a trip to the boundary waters for canoe trip the end of April here and on my gear loadout I’m looking at bring my 20° war bonnet links under quilt in my Banyan Bridge hammock and was wondering for warmth on the bottom side of the hammock if I use 22:05 22:05 22:05 a half inflated Nemo pad in the double bottom, is this help in lowering my temperature range in the hammock or should I order a double under quilt or possibly a 0° under quilt

My buddy Rob tried putting Nemo inside an underquilt and it actually made it colder. Don’t do that and layer the quilts.

I remember watching that winter camping video Rob or yourself posted on your winter trip to Hageman lake and I keep that in my mind all the time because Rob really had a bottom layer of everything he could possibly bring close cell phone pads, air pads under quilts, and got warmer instantly when he removed the pads so that’s kind of what I’ve been thinking
