    i have bought the mini version, It's a nice little deck the only downside I find is that because of the standard size of the mini cards, they had made the cards wider and all coins are oval, the figures of people are shorter and fatter. 😞

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, that's a pity, they should've done it in a different proportion :(

      @@wolfofcoins I bought the mini Visconti-Sforza, without looking at it on line and i was really disappointed. They didn't adjusted the image fortunately. But they put on the side the title of the cards (In English) in big capitale letters. (I am a French speaker) It is not the language that bother me: it's the choice of the titles. Pope is Hierophant, Popess is high priestess, coins are pentacles etc. What a shame to disfigured an historic deck with the wrong titles.

    Thank you for the review! It looks pretty much like CBD with minor Jodorowskian additions. I think I'm going to wait for the vintage version that comes out in October - the photos in their catalogue looks really nice, I like the creamy backgrounds they'll have.

    This video persuaded me to order this deck despite recently buying 2 TdM decks in the last week! They look great, but more to the point, i totally agree with you about the card stock from La Scarebo. I wonder if those who complain about it are mainly those who buy just to collect. I have a couple of their decks and I love their card stock because it's easier to shuffle and handle which encourages me to actually use them for reading.
    Thank you. Loving your videos.

      Thank you! Yes, I think that Lo Scarabeo know what they are doing with this cardstock, it is very practical and I love it about it!

      @@wolfofcoins The deck has totally lived up to expectations and surpassed in some ways. The first thing to say is that yes, the Lo Scarabeo card stock is excellent as ever. Secondly it is a very good reference deck because it is very close to the original Conver style. In fact it's basically a Pierre Madenie deck and therefore very close to the CBD, without the small extra interpretations added by Ben Dov. Lastly, the little white book is possibly the best one I have ever come across. Normally I take a quick look, think what a poor effort that's full of mistakes or confusions and never open it again. This one is a model of clarity and gives just enough information that you could easily get started without any book and probably keep going for a long time with just the LWB. If only all decks had one just as good. The writer would be a fantastic teacher.

    The Camoin Jodorowsky deck appears to have disappeared from the marketplace - it may be out of print - so this Lo Scarabeo deck may be the closest we get to a Jodorowsky deck these days.
    I think I'll stick with the CBD TdM and the Hadar Veritable TdM but this new deck is a fine modern edition.

    Question: Are the cards very glossy? The large giant edition of this deck is quite glossy. (Sorry if I missed that in your presentation.) THX

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they are not very glossy, it's a regular Lo Scarabeo finish.

    I think Jodorowsky added a lot of his own " devices " into his deck, so it's better that subsequent decks from other manufacturers don't blindly follow it and instead look more to the original.

    Josephine the wife of Napoleon knew how to read the Marseille tarot and it's been said that she was very good at it. She told him to don't go to Russia because she was seen rivers of blood under a red sky and a disastrous defeat. Literally that happened. If he would had listened. But I guess at the end it was for the better. They got rid of him.

    I have the mini in a solid telescopic box. I figured it was cheap enough to throw in my bag. I like it more than I expected, it has some nice little quirks. The LWB is very RWS and I've seen reviews of her book that say the same, even down to them both using wands and pentacles rather batons and deniers (that may be down to translation rather than the creator, a real shame though).

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wonder if this isn't indeed the translation problem. The English "default" suits seem to be Pentacles and Wands and I've seen people use these terms even when talking about a deck where there are obviously coins, no pentacles as such. But as you say, it is a shame :(
