    Hi Magdalena, the Knight of Coins is missing from the original deck - it hasn’t survived - that’s why there are three versions in the different decks you’re using. Lovely video, Madziu 💜. I need to take a look at my Tarot deck, but I’m pretty sure I’m struggling to enjoy the Devil card in it. I know it’s necessary, though I don’t like it when it appears in readings. The tricky part about the Devil is that it’s always in the right spot and always makes sense. To be honest, sometimes you might think, ‘Oh, this is a random reading; I don’t think these cards make sense,’ but when the Devil shows up, I know it’s never an accident.

But I'm a Pisces and Pisces Rising so I really need and appreciate the solidity and confidence and power and stability of the Emperor. I also like the 4s in the minors. They always suggest balance and I need that with all my feeling and water. The tree symbol for the Emperor is really apt. I love huge trees and finally live on a little plot of land covered with huge trees that form sort of a protective haven in the back yard. Now I'll think of the Emperor when I'm sitting back there. The real world of dreams has a story of a stupid skeptic who told the story of Jack and the bean stork which was an oral confusion about stalks flying and the skeptics warnings of thinking stalks can reach to the sky. In really ambitious skeptics who said magic has no barriers even proof, Jack and the bean stork invented Planes. Not plains, although we must be careful that the wrong skeptic doesn't get that one.

The Juniper has called me as well, and I am currently gathering information about the bush 😊 Here in the Finland/Sweden region juniper was used during funerals to ward off negative energy. It is also a symbol of fertility, spring, perseverance and survival. Watching people older than me, with much experience is always wonderful, it makes me feel like a student. Thank you for your work in previewing these guides. I'm still on my way reading my second book on tarot (plus much more things) by Robert M. Place, just finished the fourth chapter and my head gained a lot of weight. Would you suggest good books for Raider-Waite Smith for a beginner who's reading through Place's guide on Waite and is kind of familiar a little bit with it's symbloism? Side note: Alchemy symbolism led me to Tarot, hence why I got interest in the Alchemical Tarot by Mr. Place.

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Actually I haven't read Robert Place's books, so I cannot tell. The advice I would give myself from 12 years ago would be: don't worry too much about the symbolism and arcane knowledge, tarot can actually be very pragmatic and down to earth :) There is of course a lot of fascinating symbolism in the tarot, but sometimes what we need is a straightforward approach which will help us make changes in our everyday lives. But that's only my point of view :) I know I sometimes got overwhelmed by the multifasceted symbolism, Kabbalah, astrology and many other things attatched by some writers to tarot. For me this is too much and actually prevents us from going deeper into tarot itself. If you are a beginner and would like to learn how to read RWS, I think that books by Joan Bunning or Barbara Moore will be easy to follow. If you want to learn about the symbolism, I guess Arthur Waite's book will be the best.

      @@wolfofcoins Thank you for giving a full answer, I literally have no more questions, what I had already been answered in your reply. I'll look at Joan Bunning and Moore then, your approach is kind of new to me, due to Place being the first teacher I read about regarding Tarot.

      @perfectheretic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd suggest you to look into Place's Book titled: The Tarot, Magic, Alchemy, Hermeticism, & Neoplatonism. over 600 pages, was extremely readable for someone who's basic in English and always suffer reading in English written books. Like the book title says, he'll go through tarot and the mentioned topics history, starting with the pre-historic shamanism, to ancient egypt; Osiris, Serapis, Toth, Mesopotimia, the Semitic invasion, Abraham the prophet of the three faiths to Solomon and his story with Ashmedai the demon who tricked the wise king, Christianity, Islam. As of now (in chapter 5) as a beginner the book is very digestible, to a knowledgeable people such as you it'll be much easier. :D

      @@wolfofcoins The deck has totally lived up to expectations and surpassed in some ways. The first thing to say is that yes, the Lo Scarabeo card stock is excellent as ever. Secondly it is a very good reference deck because it is very close to the original Conver style. In fact it's basically a Pierre Madenie deck and therefore very close to the CBD, without the small extra interpretations added by Ben Dov. Lastly, the little white book is possibly the best one I have ever come across. Normally I take a quick look, think what a poor effort that's full of mistakes or confusions and never open it again. This one is a model of clarity and gives just enough information that you could easily get started without any book and probably keep going for a long time with just the LWB. If only all decks had one just as good. The writer would be a fantastic teacher.

    This video is wonderful, thank you for making it! Is mugwort ever dried and burned on Slavic traditions (smoke cleansing), or is it just hung up around the home and barn?

    • @wolfofcoins
      @wolfofcoins 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, we do use mugwort and other dried herbs for smoke cleansing (Polish 'okadzanie'), it is a very old practice. I usually prepare smoke sticks from the herbs collected on Kupala or Zielna and use them during the year. I also make loose incense with juniper, another popular cleansing plant in Polish tradition.

    Oh my! Thank you for this beautiful presentation! It was quite funny how the runes commented on your dislike of matt finish 😄We are really happy and proud of how it looks, but you are right - it might be even better with a rune symbol printed on the card itself. It would make searching for rune hidden in the illustration much easier 😉And about the Dagaz... That was quite lame, but we thought that the shape of butterfly would be enough to communicate how Dagaz rune looks like. Once again it would work much better if the user already have known how the symbol looks like 😅 But hopefully we made our amends for this by writing such a chunky guidebook 😀 Take care and thank you once again for this thorough review 🥰

      Where is the Thurisaz rune in the card? Hiding the actual runes in the images, without printing them next to the title? Not the brightest idea in my opinion (and I'm sure I'm not alone on this). It would have been such a great deck. Now I will have to sell or donate it, unfortunately.

I actually said to myself, “I want to know someone who would pick that!” 😊 I so identify with your love of history, and your thoughts about the levels of their lives. Even as a child was interested in history. I also feel Crowley Thoth is too much... and I usually like decks with a lot of elements to them... but it looks so crowded to me! As funny as it sounds, I feel like it’s been calling to me for the past few weeks. I’m more drawn to Thoth-based decks than ever.
