Who's excited for Friday's video where I reveal the ENTIRE 900lb Goodwill lot?? Let me just tell you... it's CRAZY. From all of the shops I visited in Episode 1, which was your favorite?
I remember visiting retro game stores in America years ago and even though Vegas had about 3 stores that aren't all too big, they were still exciting, especially considering the fact that in Australia retro game stores are practically nonexistant.
As a Tasmanian, I was amazed when I found one retro game store in Melbourne because there are none in Tassie as far as I know. Ever since EB games started the Zing Pop Culture thing which now takes up half of my local store I’ve pretty much just gone to buying games on EBay.
I'm tasmania too! It's such a shame we have literally nothing going! I have found this place called sb games which has been quite nice for xbox 360/ps3 stuff
The locations you went to in NC are some of my favorite locations to hit up when I can! Glad you're giving those locations some love and appreciation. Looking forward to rest of this series, keep up the good work!
i had no clue you lived in north carolina! seeing you say you were in huntersville, where i know some people are from and wearing an app state shirt, where i go to school, is awesome.
Bro I’m from nc myself and these videos are amazing man started with the 900lbs of consoles video now ima going through an catching up. Thanks for the hard work and putting these videos out!
I've been having some luck at goodwill lately been finding tons of guitars and controllers and even found a few super nintendo games as well. Glad to hear there is an actual location may have to check it out one day. Maybe I'll finally find the elusive Digimon world I've been searching for for years
Found myself a loose PSone bundle at the ValueVillage/Savers that was behind my home. Consisted of the console with power cord, screen, controller, memory card, 12v DC adapter for the car. Included Crash Bandicoot loaded inside. All for $30 Canadian! Was surprised with the quality of the LCD screen for something from the late 90's / early 2000's.
I can't believe you were at The Grid! I don't think I was working that day, it would have been awesome to run into you there. Video Game World was a nice store too, I remember they had a nice selection in their glass case when I went. Great channel, Jacob!
Man, some of those stores remind me of this "little bit of everything" gaming store we had in my area when I was growing up (I can't recall the name.) They had everything from the newest gaming consoles at the time, PS3 and Xbox 360, all the way down to a game of Pong, and everything in between. There was so much cool stuff there like addons to systems you didn't even know existed in the first place for pretty much any consoles you could think of, as well as a ton of games for so many old and new consoles. I have so many fond memories of that place. I was sad the day my mom took my brother and I there and the building was empty and for lease/sale. T'was a sad day indeed.
Lol try being from south africa, console gaming only really started becoming big here around the ps1/ps2 era. Trying to find a ps1 here that doesn't have some sus mod chip installed is tough😂
I had a PSOne in my car back in 2001 or so. It had a 3rd party screen though, Intec I think. I cut the wire and spliced it to my screens in the headrest so the PSOne would display on 3 screens in my car. Good times.
Glad.ypu picked up tarzan... one of the first of many games I worked on as a graphic artist after working on hercules :).... keep up the awesome content buddy
For any future journeys, it might be useful to carry a memory card with you for each console? Call it a useful tool pack (you could also have a screwdriver, laser cleaner, batteries/adaptors, etc.); or whatever else should you need them. Obviously you didn't know you might need these this time, but it's just a thought which might save any issues later?
You should do more videos like this one......WITHOUT overpaying for some video games lot though!! Besides, getting untested video game consoles is somewhat more exiting.....maybe not for you!!! but you get the drill!!
funny story about the slim Psone. I found one at a thrift store! it was just sitting near the loose electronics area NOT behind glass! and I bought it for only $5!!! so that means I bought a fully working PS1 for an insane $5!! but it had no adaptor nor AV cables. so It had to share the ones from my PS2. including the controller.
I'm a big fan of this little series. What part of Texas are you going to if you don't mind me asking? I'm from the Houston, area, and I really love my local shop. The owner used to have a store out of his house, and ended up turning it into a pretty cool little local store, with some great stuff. There are a few others in the area, but I personally don't think they're as good. Looking forward to the next video.
I bought what was listed as an original fat PS1 but it ended up getting the PS1 one slim with the LCD screen . For around 80. Best eBay. Item Surprise ever
Not sure if it applied to the USA playstation one official screen but the power supply that came with it in the box is a diffrent model number than the standard supply that came with the console. And the manual says not to use the console power supply but only use the screen supply version when the 2 are connected.
It applies to us too. I bought a ps one screen and ps one to play, but it didn't come with the power supply needed for the screen, so it didn't work with the one the came with the console. I had to go back to that game store, and they fortunately had the appropriate one that works with the screen.

The best kind of roadtrip
Oh so much nostalgia of playing Tarzan on PS1.
Let's hope it's good... Interesting video Jacob.

Some nice pick ups , love your channel massive inspiration to us smaller creators
I really enjoy your videos man :D
That is a sweet setup for 20+ years.. with speakers too
Assuming the screen was originally for purchased in 2000 for the sticker price, the $129.99 is worth ~$225 today so you did alright lol
this is BA! finding hole in the walls for gamming love it!
Tarzan was my first console game ever so it's nice to see!
Watching from the UK. You guys have SO much more of a retro game scene. So jealous.
Not really. What you see on TH-cam is HEAVILY glorified. Most of us live in small nothing towns with no retro game stores around for a long while

Lmao I didn't know you were from NC, the Video Game World near me is a lot more empty then the one in Huntersville and even Concord Mills >:)
i have the lcd ps1 screen i bought it years ago at gamestop when someone randomly traded it in and i only spent like 40 bucks on it
Nice find

Lcd screens sure have come a long way, but for its time it was a pretty neat accessory.
He gave the game some scratches with that manual stop

My local game store VideoGamesEtc
I noticed had a ps1 with screen . I passed it up and bought Resident evil Dead aim instead haha .
Moline Illinois
where i live, there’s only one retro game store nearby but i have to bike through 2 sketchy neighborhoods just to get to it
I bought the PS1 LCD screen new for 130 from Amazon in 2016. It really shot up in a short period of time.
“BARBIE EXPLORER!! NICE!!”
This vid is so cool
I drove from NJ to VA not long ago just to buy a game lot. Worth. Got a pippin CD I and a 3do cheap.
that lcd screen is sick

I wanted one of those screen attachments & car adapter for my PSone so bad
“I’m not gonna manual stop this one it’s a $60 game”
3 seconds later
*Manual stops game*
And here I am complaining that the nearest red light district is a 3 hour drive from me😂
Ayye didn’t know you were from NC too. There aren’t nearly enough retro games stores in the RDU area
Hi. Could you use the screen to play Time Crisis with one or two light Guns? Best regards Lau
You should have checked out the video game cavern in taylors south Carolina its about 20 mins from 1 up and alot bigger

Memory cards you put in the console and never think of again, unless it's the VMU on the Dreamcast.

Why the Oh No on the thumbnail when everything is absolutely fine and your happy with everything??
Hi camera man finally you show yourself even tho it was his hand🤣🤣.
I’m actually impressed with that lcd for the ps1
Right? Once it was working, it looked a lot better than I expected
I had no clue we were neighbors I live by Raleigh too!
I hope he gets some good stuff in the load
Do a road trip to dkoldies, imagine their reaction.
It's super hot in Texas I bet.
FYI just check the copyright on the box if you wonder if it’s late 90s or early 00s
I had a PSone with one of those screens like 15 years ago. I think I sold the whole system for about $40.
The psu for ps1 screen has bigger wattage due to powering both the ps1 and screen. Th og ps1 power supply will power them but eventually blow it.
Who else used these in elementary school? So nostalgic.
I got my ps one with the lcd screen years ago with the joystick for 50 dollars from the value village
Can't believe that Goodwill look like a game store WTF I don't think I've ever seen that much game stuff in a Goodwill
BRO WHERE DID YOU FIND THESE OLD CONSOLES LOL I NEED ONE TOO XD
Can you give away the ps1 demos 🙏 a piece of my childhood right there 🧒
I am trying get hold of ps1 screen. I do have screen for ps2 slim
You really put crash bandicoot back...
I Never knew that an LCD Screen for a console that came out in 2000 (PSone released 2000) already came out in the late 90‘s…
Bro! I work at video game world in Greenville sc! Sucks you didn’t Stop by!
Question: Will you make a full movie compilation video after this series is done?
Good idea 👍
from raleigh? same here!
I sold my 360 Collection for 30$ and you buy wifi for 10 😂😂
Idk if you’ll be near Dallas, but we have a place called “Game Xchange” that has a bunch of retro games, consoles, and controllers.
I went to a few game xchanges on this trip - you’ll see some today and tomorrow
