This has honestly been one of the coolest things I’ve seen tech TH-camr do. 900 pounds of consoles really could of been anything and it was so fun to watch the build up to the big lot with all the consoles.❤
Just a clarification for anyone reading - this is NOT the final video in the series! We’re just getting started - still have to test every single console and do repairs/cleaning. Episode 6 will be next week
This probably the best way to be a video game reseller. You guys are going to bring these consoles back to life and back into the homes of people who will cherish them. If you didn’t buy them who knows where these consoles would go
Lmao, too much effort/trouble for my liking. I would much rather add to my real estate, crypto and equities portfolios. All you need to do is sit back (providing you invested properly) and watch the dough roll in.
Hey, just for future reference when you testing ps3. The static on the screen is deep colour issue. To fix it , go into the video settings and disable deep colour in video settings. Some models have this issue (i own super slim and slim ps3 and my slim ps3 has this issue while super slim does not) I don't know why this happens but it does for some reason
@@Itz_Dark_YT It honestly depends on how much you've got in there. If it's a light box, it'll cost you something like 50 or 60 bucks to ship. If it's a heavier box, it'll end up costing you in the hundreds. Just make sure you get enough to make the cost worth it.
I miss this series. At the same time around these videos, I went retro game shopping mainly for the 7th generation and Jacob, you encouraged me to buy an Xbox 360. I’m keeping Such memories, the summer of 2023. 😌
4:40 All you need to do is put the Cell Processor under intense heat to repair any micro fracturing in the board, after that, replace the thermal paste.
It’s amazing seing how far your channel has come. I used to watch during Covid when I had nothing else to do (I think I first watched the GameStop Star Wars 360) and then I stopped watching for a bit. I came back about a year ago while watching Scott the woz and it’s seems like a completely different channel. Keep it up!
This was a great series! A little risky unloading all of those consoles in Texas heat. I'm from Houston so I know how hot it gets. Glad to see you made it through it.
I used to do a pallet of consoles a week when i owned my own console refurbishing biz. Pop out that Playstation hard drive and format it in a pc and pop it back into the console. That had fixed many a yellow lights I worked on.
So I don't know if you know already, but I'll say anyway to be safe - for that backwards compatible PS3 and any other old fat model like it, you can solder some wires to a chip called the SYSCON on the motherboard and it will dump out error codes for whatever hardware problem it has. You can read some more about it over at PSXplace, would be interesting to see it used in a repair and have it be something as mundane as a capacitor!
Loving this series, you have a very relaxing style and it’s always fascinating to see you break down consoles and explain the common repairs, or review online retails in consumer reports style content-great stuff.
Just take those PS3s to someone who knows how to read the syscon and see if their problem is the GPU or some chips on the board(don't remember what they are exactly) but they are repairable. Or do it yourself with information available on youtube/forums and if you have the skills and equipment. Basically the PS3s require reballing and/or changing some chips under the GPU/CPU but you find out exactly what they need by reading the syscon. There was a one hour long video or something like that on youtube that really explained basically everything about YLOD, documentary type thing.
653 dollars because I bid on this same auction (I think) it became to much for me once it went above $500 you still got it for like less than a dollar per pound which is insane
I hope you guys picked up some smaller boxes and maybe a few storage totes to bring them all back in . The testing should make for some interesting viewing .
You can test the HD-DVD drives by plugging them into a Windows 10 PC. If it does not work but you see the memory units in device manager, MOST of the time that means the single capacitor on the power board has failed. Replace it and the drive will be back up and running. Better odds than a sealed Warner Bros. HD-DVD.
That piano thing is the Keytar for Rock Band 3. You can play Keytar mapped songs with a guitar for the color zones, but you need the Keytar to play pro keyboard mode.
The piano you had was a Rock Band 3 Keyboard controller. Been meaning to pick one of those up for a while since I picked up Rock Band 3 again, pretty niche controller that unfortunately didn't make a return in RB4, but I loved the branching out to further instruments. The number of songs that got left out due to a lack of proper keyboard support always made me sad. It unfortunately came too late for the game it arguably would have made the biggest impact for (The Beatles: Rock Band, not having Let It Be or Hey Jude was almost criminal, but neither really fit since the game didn't have keyboard support), but thankfully an exploit enabled custom songs in Rock Band 3 that at least allowed those songs to make their way into a Rock Band game eventually. Fun times.
Now this is going to be a great series! Hopefully you can fix a load of them up and. Hope you have the soldering iron and A LOT of thermal paste at the ready 🤣
You can check 360’s by the power amps sticker near the mfr date. And then if it has hdmi and no hdmi. Really needed when looking for an opus (14.2a non hdmi, not to be confused with 16.5a non hdmi xenon) awesome haul btw. If they weren’t actually tested I don’t think you over spent at all
I started your content with the DKOldies videos. Your videos kept showing on my front page. Now I officially clicked the Subscribe button! I though I already did XD
My ps3 super slim is a beast. My uncle bought it on release day and I played that thing everyday for years. It still works fine. The only thing is the power button fell off so I have to use a screwdriver to turn it on. My controller won't turn it on for some reason
if you don't know so there are ps3 slims that did not have led lights at all the only light that it had was the wi-fi light no HDD or power on or eject light. and little dots you see on the ps3 is from 480i rez mode once you bring it to 720p or 1080p it will go away it became a thing from a firmware update idk which one.
I'm going to low-ball you probably paid about $400. Still a fun series you did definitely would like to see more. Just imagine if there was dkoldies consoles in there lol.
Official OEM PS3 controllers are hard to come by. eBay is littered with knock-offs that are so decent LOOKING you cant hardly tell until you hold it. So finding some is SWEET!

1700 $
2500$
i say you spent about $5800 at least at most $12.500
$1899
This dude single-handedly is keeping Goodwill in business.
honestly it's crazy how much video game inventory this company has 😂 they have hundreds (maybe thousands) of video game auctions every day
like fr lmao
Fact!!
not really like goodwill is popular af
No way goodwill is awesome

And I thought my 30lb boxes from Japan were crazy. This is absolute madness. I can't wait to see how many of these consoles end up working.
where did you buy it from

Really been enjoying this series. Thanks for doing something new!
That slap on the Xbox Jasper.. Once you master it, you never lose it.
R.i.p. the consoles bearing the weight at the bottom
The hard case Daniel son....the case🧘🏽

can i have a wii pls :)
I would probably say $700-800
You wont this for $250
The ‘piano’ is actually the Keyboard accessory for Rock Band 3! Super fun to use, but it does feel a bit cheap imo
I hope you guys picked up some smaller boxes and maybe a few storage totes to bring them all back in . The testing should make for some interesting viewing .
My old console refurbishing addiction was at an all time high watching this.
I wish I had the money to do this, would be worth it even if most of the stuff ended up being a loss, would still love the experience.
This man is a genius. Even if most of these consoles don't work he can still make like 10 or more videos on them and make more than he spent.
It depends how much he paid... but yea he has many options to monetize it
I can definetly imagine 2 dudes just grabbing and flinging each console in the box carelessly 😏
I have been enjoying this series a lot. I wanna see all the random weird accessories you got with this lot too
As A Texan myself I can safely say, "THAT IS THE BIGGEST LOAD OF JUNK I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!"

The fact theres a white 360 that works is crazy! Though theres got to be enough parts to make alot of working consoles.
The lot's honestly not bad, but that depends on the price you paid for it. Can't wait to see more of.... The Texas Load!

You’re the best for real. I’m going to buy one of your fixes when you start selling. Love the dedication and passion you have for this.
It's like an episode of Storage Wars! ☺️
How much did 408kg of consoles cost?
Is there a video of u testing the wiis from this haul ?
A video going through and cleaning/detailing every console would be so satisfying
That keyboard/piano was probably for Rock Band 3's Pro Instruments!

The Xbox 360 at 6:56 was mine!!! I remember putting that sticker and having the black elite 120gb hard drive on it!!! 6:56
These consoles are still all in better condition than DK oldies refurbished consoles. Let than sink in 👀
Damn, that OG XBOX- has definitely seen better days 😵💫
im stunned considering goodwill never has that many systems in their stores
old cod games are back we need all the 360s lol
I have a question do you ask them if they have untested games and buy all of them in the back or something or is it different
Build a Custom homebrew Wii into that 360 HD DVD drive enclosure? HEWL YEEEEE the UNHOLY union we didnt know we wanted
Im pretty excited to see video's of testing those consoles, Im sure some of them are going to have very interesting issuies
Almost feels like goodwill made this just for Jacob
I was watching macho nacho where he had shown off the gamecube nano. Using wii parts. With all those wii's would you ever consider building 1?
TronixFix would have a field day with these! Lol.
13:33 I'm not the only one who noticed the Rock Band 3 Keytar in the pile, right?
Glad youre back in NC. I'm from Austin and sympathize with your experience in the U-Haul. Stay hydrated!
