Thank you for doing this series. It is so desperately needed in this dark, lost, broken world that we all live in. The Bible, God's inspired word, is the ultimate authority on life.

How refreshing to hear another Christian who recognizes the poor quality of Christian music and movies. My husband and I often find ourselves solo in this area. Fruitful, wonderful study!♡

AMEN! Seriously-- it's awful! And compromise should not just become our default by proxy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Glad you're here- and that we get to connect! XO

Loved this video, thank you. Kind of felt sad when you mentioned hair turning gray, and felt like the insinuation was that you no longer have beauty if your hair is gray. Mine started going gray in my early 20s and I had a really hard time when that happened, but checking my heart and pride helped with that. My husband still thinks I’m beautiful 🥰

I love that you're encouraging women to be modest! It is truly one of the ways that we can show our Father in heaven How much we love him.
Modesty also has the power to set us apart as one of the believers.
I'm concerned however that at about 5:37 you say that it's a form of pride to be concerned and insecure and worried about yourself to an excessive degree.
I am in my 50s, and I am very beautiful and very modest and very loving... But I'm also extremely insecure and worried. Several years ago a woman at church told me I should stop apologizing and worrying so much! And I felt really badly by her words, but a few weeks ago I discovered a woman here on TH-cam named Heidi Priebe. I've watched other TH-camrs, but these particular videos that I watched helped me to better understand myself.
I recently learned that I have an insecure attachment style! I experienced a lot of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse as a child, and what I didn't realize is that it impacted my ability to connect others. I also had parents who were emotionally absent. God has been good in trying to teach me that my true identity is as his beloved daughter. But the small inner child within me feels broken and unworthy of being loved!
And there's no legitimate reason for that... I am very very loved by men and women and children throughout the world because I myself am very kind and sweet and thoughtful with others. I give regular community service, I teach others of their self-worth, and even recently I volunteered on Facebook to do free alterations to help make modest dresses for the school dance at the high school. I'm willing to give my life in ways that would please God, but it doesn't mean that I don't have a pervasive sense of insecurity and doubts about myself worth. So I would be very leery of saying somebody's being prideful because they're worried about themselves and worried about how they look or if they're doing an okay job. It's a hard world out there, and we're just doing the best we know how, but it's important to realize that there can be a variety of factors in place, as to why people feel immense self-doubt. Some of that comes from abuse and trauma and unhealthy parenting, and it also comes from the father of lies, even the devil, who would try to tell us that we aren't worth anybody's time!
Thankfully the spirit of God teaches me that I'm loved and I'm valued and I'm beautiful, but internally I'm having to try to retrain my inner child to believe that!
I'm doing this from voice to text on my phone, so I hope it's making sense and there aren't too many typos!
Here are some videos that have really helped me to understand what's going on with me... And to give myself Grace and love as I learn to maneuver my way through the challenges of life.
I wish you all the best. Thank you for sharing your love of God !

I'll share some of the videos that have really resonated with me from one particular woman. (She rarely swears, and she is modest, so I don't see plunging necklines. She does occasionally take the Lord's name in vain and use a swear word-- and some of her videos definitely speak of things of a more sexual nature-- but the majority of her things-- are like the ones I'll share hear-- Insightful and Inspiring to help me acknowledge my shadows so that I can bring joy to myself and others. That's VERY simply put!). -- If any of you feel broken, unworthy, ashamed, perfectionistic so others don't see your flaws, and just general concerned that the authentic you isn't good enough to bre loved-- then I recommend this women.
I've benefitted greatly from Patrick Teahan too, but he uses a few more swear words-- though not remotely as many as Dr. Ramani! There's also "Therapy in a Nutshell," Dr. Les Carter, and Dr. Sage, and even Dr. Lund --author of the book How to Hug a Porcupine. Each have a unique style and things to teach though.

Transcript: This part really spoke to me! I want to "show up for myself:
    4:40
...to get started on this what you want
to do, is start making very small goals
that you follow through on solely for
the sake of following through on them.
    4:51
Not because there's a particular outcome
you want that is really big. Not because
you want to hold yourself accountable to
    somebody else.
    4:57
    Just pick one small thing
that you can commit to doing for the
next 30 days in a row that will make
your life is genuinely better in some small
    way every day.
And then do that thing solely because
you said you would do it.
Even if there's a day where it does not
make sense to do it, or it's annoying to
do it. Do it that day solely because you
said you would do it. And I really do
recommend making this a small thing.
    5:24
Don't make it something you hate. Don't
make it something you know in advance
you're going to feel extreme resistance to.
    5:30
    Make it something very manageable.

This is such a good series. I want to watch it again with my granddaughters. They are 10 and 9, but already feeling pressured and confused. We went through the hair dye thing. I felt it was too worldly. I wish I would have handled it better though. I was really upset because they did it before asking permission from their Daddy. They understand now though.
Thank you again. I really appreciate this study.

Thank you sister ( sorry I don't know your name). I'm 62 and I learned so much. I struggle with trying to be modest at exercise class because I wear dresses and skirts. I finally found so modest athletic skirts with attached leggings. I feel much better even though its a senior citizen low impact class I still want to be modest.

This summed up A LOT of the questions I had. Also I had the same convictions when it came to that scripture in Peter and Timothy u should focus on beautifying your spirit through the transformation of the Holy Spirit working on u rather than how u look on the outside..that being said there is nothing wrong with looking nice but what is your true intention

Hi, I've just discovered your channel about biblical womanhood and I'm really intersted in it. I'm struggling with the biblical vision of woman because I've always approved feminism. Hope your words and biblical studying will help me to understand God's will. Moreover, I completely agree with you about the concept "our body is the temple of the Spirit of God". I born in an Adventist family and so much of what you said about modesty and appropriate clothing is tought in our churches. So, can I say you something that maybe can interest you, which may make you think ? As our body is the temple of God also what we introduce in it is important, the food we eat is important. I've just seen a short video that you made about yours breakfasts and I've seen you eat bacon. I hope you don't take my words for judgment, but God gave specific instructions to Israel about not eating unclean meats, such as pork. You can read it in Leviticus 11 and Deteuronomy 14. These are instructions from God, and so there is something about certain animals that God knows are not good for our health. May God bless you and your family! :) (p.s. forgive my poor english, I'm italian)

    • @HeavenlyMindedHome
      @HeavenlyMindedHome  ปีที่แล้ว

Your English is beautiful- great job! So thankful we can connect all across the world! 🥰
I would encourage a complete understanding of Old Testament food laws: Leviticus chapter 11 lists the dietary restrictions God gave to the nation of Israel. The dietary laws included prohibitions against eating pork, shrimp, shellfish and many types of seafood, most insects, scavenger birds, and various other animals. The dietary rules were never intended to apply to anyone other than the Israelites. The purpose of the food laws was to make the Israelites distinct from all other nations. After this purpose had ended, Jesus declared all foods clean (Mark 7:19). Later, God gave the apostle Peter a vision that implied formerly unclean animals could be eaten: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean” (Acts 10:15). When Jesus died on the cross, He fulfilled the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24-26; Ephesians 2:15). This includes the laws regarding clean and unclean foods.
Romans 14:1-23 teaches us that not everyone is mature enough in the faith to accept the fact that all foods are clean. As a result, if we are with someone who would be offended by our eating “unclean” food, we should give up our right to do so as to not offend the other person. We have the right to eat whatever we want, but we do not have the right to offend other people, even if they are wrong. For the Christian in this age, though, we have freedom to eat whatever we wish as long as it does not cause someone else to stumble in his/her faith.
In the New Covenant of grace, the Bible is far more concerned with how much we eat than what foods Christians eat. Physical appetites are an analogy of our ability to control ourselves. If we are unable to control our eating habits, we are probably also unable to control other habits such as those of the mind (lust, covetousness, unrighteous hatred/anger) and unable to keep our mouths from gossip or strife. As Christians, we are not to let our appetites control us; rather, we are to control them (Deuteronomy 21:20; Proverbs 23:2; 2 Peter 1:5-7; 2 Timothy 3:1-9; 2 Corinthians 10:5).

      Praying that helps! XOXO

      @@HeavenlyMindedHomeHi there great vid!
So I do eat pork from time to time and I just want to point out that what I’m about to say doesn’t come from a place of you have to stop eating pork. When Peter had that vision in Acts, his vision was later explained in Acts 10:28. I learned here that this particular story actually points to how the Jews thought of gentiles and how that needed to change. Having nothing to do with what we eat.
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
I hope this brings clarificar to that scripture. Again great vid and thank you for putting it out!

    • @HeavenlyMindedHome
      @HeavenlyMindedHome  ปีที่แล้ว

Yup- sure does. But while he is speaking of food, God then clarifies the even deeper message of it extending to the gentile people and not just the food they ate. As we see Jesus clarify himself when he declares the food clean while using the imagery of it not being the matter that goes in that defiles a person... and then we see further instruction in the epistles confirming the fulfillment of dietary laws (noted in my response above). :)

The Bible says in Deuteronomy 22:5
The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man.
God put a significant difference between what a man should wear and what a woman should wear.
If you go to a restaurant and need to use the restroom, how do you tell which one you should use?
One with pants you automatically know is for the man. The other with the dress is for the woman. Any kind of pants pertains to a man. Modest apparel is not revealing.
The Bible says, a woman’s hair was given to her for a covering and that it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven.
A Godly woman is not to cut her hair.
    (King James Version )
    1 Corinthians 11:6, 15

Your content is great…thank you so much! I’ve always been a modest dresser, but for some strange reason I have a hard time with knowing what to do about bathing suits. I don’t like all eyes on me…so it’s not a heart issue…but I also don’t want crazy tan lines (I know it’s weird because all my clothes cover them anyways 🤦‍♀️)…or to wear shorts and a tank top while I’m swimming. What do you do?

    • @HeavenlyMindedHome
      @HeavenlyMindedHome  ปีที่แล้ว +3

I think the tan line thing always would get me too, lol! Which is so silly! I do have a modest, vintage style bathing suit, that I wear when I occasionally get in our pool. Going anywhere in public I wear shorts or a skirt and just don't care if it gets wet. ;) My daughter and I found these swimsuit tank top type things at Walmart this year and she got that! It looks like a more loose fitting tank top but it's swimsuit material with a built in bra. She wears that with workout shorts- the ones that have the tight bicycle shorts under the loose fabric shorts. We have been loving that setup!

Hi I did enjoy your video. I have a concern though, is dyeing hair appropriate for a child of God as we are to do what pleases him and what we see in the world and the love of these things is against GOD. As you also said we do not belong to ourselves so our choices and likes or the fun we have from what we do do not matter anymore.

In today's world, I associate colored hair i.e. the pink, green, blue, purple... with "wokeness". You've given me something to ponder on!
