  • Hi all!
I hope you are all well.
Things I mention in todays video:
    McCall's M8312
Tilly and the buttons Juno Pyjama's
    Longleat Safari Park
Look out for the cute animal pictures at the end, and don't forget to let me know what you use for inspiration? Do you use inspiration for your outfits? Also, what would you like to see in my videos?
    See you next week.
    Jennie
    xx

I enjoy hearing about your life. What you have sewn, what you have altered. Keep going, I seek out your vlogs

I would like to see more of how to alter patterns to fit, and actual "how to" sewing content. Right now, as a newish sewist, I'm focused on getting patterns to fit me and constructing them successfully.

That looks such a cool dress on you and beautiful fabric. Great Pjs as well and I know what you mean about shorts being too short so sticky legs 😂. Can't believe you were less than a mile away from me last week whilst I was at Center Parcs 😂. That pattern software sounds intriguing. When I'm stuck for an idea or what to see what's in fashion I just go onto to shop websites like Fat Face 😅. I then see their prices for basic items and make my own! Have a great week ❤

Hey! 👋 I know, we went past Center parcs on the way and I did think of you. I do similar to you, depending on the type of outfit I want I will change the shop I look at. Hope you have had a lovely week. Xx

Thanks for this video, I’ve been sewing and wearing clothes for a long time, I’m 65 and have been making clothes since my teen age years, so even though my size and shape has changed lots in that time, I do know what is a ‘me’ style, and I get inspiration from other sewists to make that, mainly Instagram and TH-cam. I do see lots of patterns that I really like but know wouldn’t work on me, mostly models are tall and slim and I am short and round, the complete opposite, so I think you have to know yourself, not just shape but lifestyle and taste so that you can make the right choices from the amazing quantity of inspiration that is available. Having said that I have just made a dress which I really loved but I had a little niggle as to whether it was me and when finished, I was right it isn’t me at all! Luckily have been able to change some details so that I will wear it and I know how I will change more details so that I can use the pattern again but I guess that is why I should make a toile but I’m too impatient for that!

A peek at the pattern drafting software? I know there are some online, but this sounded as if you owned it. Which is cool…..

Jen, happy Friday Sews. What a beautiful dress! Do you have to do FBA's?

Hi! 👋🏻 I do often have to do an FBA, it just depends on what I am making. xx

What Pattern Drafting Software do you have?

I have the Wildginger pattern master boutique and I have used Tailornova before. Here is the first in my series on pattern drafting software where I talk about the pros and cons of the ones I have found. th-cam.com/video/YAeQNH0n82Q/w-d-xo.html

I have not heard of a pattern drafting software, that sounds interesting. I think Michou from @michoumakes uses Lekala patterns often, as you can put exact measurements into their system and even plan your whole design. But I haven’t tried this myself.

Thank you, yes I have looked at Lekala but not tried it.
