I worked in the Proving Grounds for 10 years so I'm very familiar with this town. I live in Houston now, but still yearn for Bangkok City Thai (so freaking good). Also, after work, it was really nice to park across from the McDonald's and bike down through Kensington Park. Whenever I come back to Michigan, I try and make my way through there.
You forgot to mention the near by beaches, Camp Dearborn, bike trails near town, old fashion Milford movie theater, YMCA, outdoor eating, resale shops, kayaking, horse riding trails, fishing lakes, beautiful state property to take walks in, snowmobiling, parades and so much more. By the way, I think you are wrong about the traffic. I've been here for over 35 years and the traffic is less than I've seen anywhere. There is always a different route that can take you around main Street during rush hour. The only down thing I can say is Milford has only one major grocery store, so it is necessary to travel to the next town to do any serious shopping. The little shops are still very nice. I would definitely give Milford a 10 for best places to live.
Milford,Michigan was a town set up for the Wixom engineering people to live right down road from the plant for Ford Wixom plant 8000 people per-shift 3 shifts.
I don’t blame you one bit. I drive through town all the time and couldn’t get bored of it. I make a lot of my appointments over there for that reason alone.
@@LivingInMichigan we are south and east of downtown so we avoid the Milford Road speedway for the most part, go to downtown for dinner or the weekend and it’s perfect!
At 71 I've lived in many towns in metro detroit, grew up in Royal Oak, raised our kids in Farmington Hills, and enjoyed our grand kids in Milford, by far Milford is the best, starting out as as farming and mill community in the early 1800s and entering the industrial age via the Ford Carburetor plant and the GM proving grounds in the 1900s it has retained its small town feel well. As far as traffic, Milford and Hickory Ridge roads are thoroughfares from the eway to northern communities beyond Milford so traffic can be heavy at times but usually only in the AM and PM weekdays. The parks in the area are great Kensington Metro, Proud Lake Highland rec. and Central park in town make Milford all the more attractive, if your looking for a welcoming family community the Vilage of Milford is a place for serious consideration.
I built many homes for the the rich in Livingston County. Now there is PEFAS in the river system so can not eat the fish and white deer can be seen in the area.
I love u as a person man your so cool But I honestly cannot stand the west of Michigan So commerce township , walled lake , milford and everything west I absolutely hate . I’ve been a east side boy my whole life . I grew up in st clair shores Michigan my whole life and spent a lot of time in grosse pointe Michigan as well . I have also spent lots of time in Sterling Heights . And Clinton township . I’m very much a east side boy so just cannot relate to the westerners . I hate the west side . People are so rude . Too much traffic and so forth . If I was to hit the lottery ever and move to a dream city it would be in Romeo Michigan or anywhere way up north past mackinaw city . I would love to live in escanaba and retire but that will never happen it’s just not in the cards since all my family is in st clair shores . But I do love your videos !!! Just hate milford and the west side lol 😆
A great place! Grew up there in the 1960's, graduated from MHS (Go, 'Skins!) I try to get back there each year for something - usually Milford Memories. A paddle down the Huron River is a satisfying trip, and the trails from the village to Kent Park are fantastic. It's a small town, and the better for it.
Have you been to Milford, MI? What do you like about it?

@@XxSupaKxX Such a great spot. I always loved taking my motorcycle and riding along the proving grounds. Greta idea to take advantage of Kensington!

Definitely was/is a hub for the GM employees to say the least, but you can't beat that commute to work that's for sure.
Good job
Thank you for watching!
Yup - we love it in Milford and are never planning to move!

I don’t know how long you’ve been in/around Milford, but do you remember Stucchi’s Ice cream right on Main St.?
@@LivingInMichigan yes but they were not around long. I had a lot of Stucchi's while in college in A2.
The Cape family actually lived on the top floor of the Cape's Ice Cream building.
@@jprue2392 I bet! I’ve heard it was quite the hotspot there. I didn’t know that they lived up above. Was that for the whole duration of ownership?
Can you make a video about Dexter and Chelsea, please?
I sure can! Thank you for your input.
