Wow. I bought my Endurace Al using Canyon web based sizing. It is a good fit for me.

Definitely a bit confusing that he's saying the frame is too big when he has 60mm of headset spacers and plenty of seatpost out. He also bought new bars, so he could have easily adjusted the reach with a new stem. 🤔

It is confusing to be honest for me as well - I bought the bike during Covid when shops were closed so I could not go for a fit and had to rely on Sigma’s website sizing as the bike was home delivered. It felt to big over time so I had a professional fit done and the fitting got me to buy smaller handlebars, shorter stem, straight seat post. I had all this done, but then when descending steep mountains I ended up getting extremely scary speed wobbles and had to revert it all back again. I dont know what it is but I do know that on my smaller Canyon I feel a ton more confident at speed. This was when I for the first time compared Cervellos website for sizing compared to Sigma, and they recommend two entirely different sizes for my height…

He could bring the reach down a bit, but steering tends to get a bit more jittery if you go too small. You can make it work, but at the end of the day you're fighting the frame to make it fit, and best case you're still going to usually have a suboptimal geometry. I've never tried this bike, but I'm not at all surprised a 61 is too big, I'm also 6'3" and usually I'd fit best on a 58.

Yeah this is why you must also buy a bike from a trusted LBS. sorry but your mate made a rookie error on sizing.

I agree one should get a proper fit to buy the bike, if you can. However I bought my Cervelo in this video during Covid, when shops were closed - so I had to rely on Sigma’s sizing on their website - no other choice. Sigma as it turns out, has it wrong by one full size…. - see my comments in the next thread
