Dear Fred, you gotta know your geo and component sizes relative to a given geo. Many times a size guide will work for you, but even the guides from manufacturers can put you on the wrong size frame. Brands don't know your leg and torso lengths, arm length, back flexibility, much less how you actually ride a bike (casual upright, low and racy, or a mix). This is why many brands, incl. Cervelo, have a statement alongside their size guides acknowledging that the guide is just a rule of thumb and matching the rider to a frame size should be done with the specific rider in mind.

Great video guys. I’m looking at the Grail CF SL7 as a possible purchase. I guess it will spend a lot of time on the road but want something that will be ok on canal paths etc. I have road and a mountain bike so want something in between. If I may ask, how did you get on with the sizing guide? I often fall in the between size on sizing guides. I’m 179 cm for reference. I’ve never purchased on line without first trying a bike. Currently riding a 56 BMC Roadmachine. Cheers guys.

I look at the size chart as a reference but mainly use the stack, reach and top tube data to choose the size. I tend to be between a 54 and 56 but prefer the higher stack. I usually end up getting a shorter stem.

Hi Kenny!, thank you for your video, I'm thinking of changing my soloist for a crux because currently its on 50 off sale, what do you think, when i ride my solist my hands gets numb i know people say its the fit, but I'm just new in cycling, let me know your thoughts with the crus because i want to ride gravel as well, i can also keep my soloist although half of me says having 2 bikes is too much.

Definitely a bit confusing that he's saying the frame is too big when he has 60mm of headset spacers and plenty of seatpost out. He also bought new bars, so he could have easily adjusted the reach with a new stem. 🤔
