Step 1: Fill your jar with rosin! Hash rosin will absolutely perform much better than flower rosin. We recommend to not fill the jar over the halfway mark to allow for headspace in the jar. This prevents any over flowing/boiling of oil from the jar.
Step 2: Pre heat your oven to 150f. Yes, you can use a vacuum oven, but it's not necessary. The more accurate your oven, the better.
Step 3: Place your sealed jar into the oven for 24-48 hours. Sometimes it can take a little bit longer, depending on how much material there is and how stable the material was to begin with. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO FILL YOUR CARTS! Every time you open a hot jar of hash, you're releasing volatile terpenes.
Step 4: Pull your jar when you have a water like viscosity with very few rising bubbles. If you have more bubbles than what's shown in this video, put it back in the oven. Put your glass syringe in the oven to keep it warm.
Step 5: Fill your warm glass syringe with the decarbed Rosin.
Step 6: Flip it vertically, and slowly insert and pull the syringe in and out. This will "smash" the bubbles on the top layer of the oil.
Step 7: Fill your cartridges! Don't worry about filling the bottom of the cartridge, we'll wick them in a moment.
Step 8: Wick your cartridges! Lower the temperature in your oven to about 100f. Put the cartridges in the oven for about 5 minutes. This melts the oil down into the cartridge, and soaks the wick for enjoyable first hits. (We do not recommend putting foam in the oven, however this polystyrene is safe up to over 400f/204c).
Step 9: Top off each cartridge again with your syringe. Do not overfill.
Step 10: Cap your cartridge and enjoy!
Some additional considerations:
This is one method of creating Solventless cartridges. There is an additional method that involves the mechanical separations of terpene fractions and THCA isolation. This process involves a bit more technical of a process and yields a lot less for your starting material. If you’d like for us to put out a video on this process, please comment below!
There are many ways to fill your cartridges. Depending on the scale of your production, it could be an automated machine or varying sizes of glass syringe. They even make syringes with heating elements attached! Precise dosing syringes are helpful and convenient for regulated markets that require it.
If exact weights need to be dispensed, we would recommend dispensing on a scale. Or even better yet, measure weight per ml and utilize a precise dosing syringe.
If manufacturing for production, choose your carts wisely! This is hardware you are choosing to stand behind as a producer. Some cart manufacturers have very high failure rates, which can hurt your company’s brand reputation. Not too mention the cost associated with replacing these products for your customers.

This worked wonderfully. I did 14g of live rosin and it took about 72 hours. Put it in the carts and they have been working great for over 2 weeks now. Seems very stable without adding anything. Thank you for sharing this tech, much appreciated. Peace!

@@EricBigClit "Bull Shit" as in products you don't actually want to inhale. Old school carts are extracts mixed with terpenes or some sort of liquidizing solution to get to a vapeable consistency.
That wicking part is where alot of these companies fail because they just fill them up to the top then package them right up. No wicking at all then once that shit gets to certain dispensaries the carts aren't completely full anymore.
I'm afraid you're conflating. The ones that appear lower are most likely wicked.

Correct. This process is only decarboxylating the rosin. This does make it runnier, but that's not the issue.
The issue is the fats and waxes present in the rosin. They will clog up any filter or wick. These are what also make dabs burn black when dabbing.
The product they are using is already winterized before this video, which they don't want you to know. Which involves ethanol and a freezer
@@leviburns89 100% correct or ran through a syringe filter which is a pain in the ass ! I’ve found that decarbing good clean shatter and adding a few drops of 100% natural terps is 🔥

@Angel Ortiz yes. So you press the material within like 2 weeks of the dry. This gives it a small cure but produces lighter color oil. I also press with a 37 micron press filter always and press at 175. You then collect that rosin and put it in a sealed jar and decarb it at 150f for 24-48 hours. Boom solventless oil.
For higher grade you do the same process but with a 25 micron press bag and bubble hash. This will produce the thinnest oil because it keeps the cuticular wax on the leaves from getting in your oil.

@@camz1039 Do you press and hold button on vooz? Can i ask what else vape delivery systems have you tried? My the only concentrate is bubble hash rosin from whole plant 45-160 microns and it looks like yours too, so i need your experience. Btw i put even small amount like 1g in a 10ml glass vial and attach like 3 legs by wrapping metal wire around the vials neck so all three legs can be placed on small pot edges with hooks at the end , to keep vial safe in boiling water , just the bottom or like 1/3 of vial , bubbles stopped in 25 minutes and product is fire. I hope you understood the idea :)

Maaaaaan why was your video SO much more informative and str8 to the point than any other ive seen? Only question i have is if i want to add some liquid terps at what point do i add them? I assume that would be the last step before adding to carts? Add to your rosin once its reached the viscosity youre after? Or with the air tight seal is it ok to add it at the beginning? Ive had luck filling carts just by cutting my rosin with terp or a liquidizer, but thjs looks much more promising.

I dont see why it wouldnt just solidify when back to room temp...when ive made extracts anytime i got that high in temp the thicker/shatterlike my extract would get on top of loosing flavor/terps

I haven’t tried the heat plate/mixer method yet, but in general following the steps in the video worked out perfectly for me, even when the rosin is on the waxy side to start.
Made this way it is a little thicker, but I have the wider aperture cartridges and it works perfectly, with no clogging issues, and no leaking issues.

so the 24-48hr in the oven was the decarb? Just as some do by putting it on a hotplate and letting it boil for an hour or sum like that? cuz if this wasnt the decarb it would crystalize in the carts.

I was wondering how commercial carts have a nice translucent amber color! Solvent always comes out darker and this would also be cheaper.
@Barry Weaver or heat , if you’re using too much heat to get a higher yield % it will also come out darker and not as high quality lower temps longer times = better quality less yeild better color , not necessarily starting material ( even though starting material is very important) even if I had the best flower in the world if I wanted to ( or if I didn’t know what I was doing ) I could make it come out not golden translucent and more amber golden color

Decarboxylation is achieved by heating cannabis or a cannabis extract to a temperature between 220 and 280 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 60 minutes.

Plant fats usually removed with micron filters during initial pressing or extraction of the flower, special machines designed to only capture trichome heads
I feel like some things might have been left out. My rosen thickens too much and won't work in a cotton based atomizer. I believe there was some post-production to the rosen before making the cart to remove the fats. The liquid is too clear and too thin. I don't see how simply heating it changes that. But i'm no expert and I'll give it a try.

Hi LowTemp, amazing video. I start exploring making my own 510s now to keep the quality high and price low. My question is, modt rosin i buy has big terp pools on top or around the container. Should i separate the terps and decarb the rest, adding the terp sauce later before injecting to my cart? What happens if i decarb the terps also, will i lose all flavors? Thanks.
Mix the terp layer back into the rest of it. Do your phase change at a low temp, no matter what you will degrade some terps but the final product is superior to anything on the market.

I’ve done this process a good 5 times it works but for hash rosin or even really thick flower rosin you need a higher temp around 200 for maybe 2-4 days. It’s worked well for me but my rosin gets darker like amber in the process. I didn’t spend much for the set up ! Get a small black and decker oven for like 50 some mason jars for about 15 and go to Hamilton devices to get some fire ccell carts or even ikrusher for disposables and you should be fine !
@@Romeodm20 Heya, I don't see how decarbing the wax for longer would make it a more suitable consistency for cartridges. The longer the heat is applied, the more viscous the oil will become due to the evaporation of terpenes, no?

You could also place the product into a jar on a hot plate with another jar over the top to prevent terpine loss. and heat on there for 1-2 hrs will achieve same result. And there like £80-200

What sort of jar and lid are you using for heating the rosin? The lid is my main concern or is it because the temperature is so low almost materials are fine? And is there not expansion when the rosin heats of the lid is on tight won’t the jar explode? Sorry, newb here.
Genuine question, don’t you have to decarb it? Or does the initial heat press activate it?
Yes
You never have to decarb but it’s recommended for potency and lowering viscosity. The initial press can or can’t decarb it, depending on what temp your pressing at.
rosin can crystallize in cart if you aren't cutting it with terps, they did decarb for 24-48 hours like it shows lol

Won’t the terpenes and flavor get ruined if it’s sitting at 150 degrees for too long? There’s been times where I’ve hit a rosin cart and the taste was bland af. I’m working on making my own right now, any advice from someone that’s experienced is appreciated! Lmk

How do you get to that watery consistency without using too much heat and damaging the terps and rosin? I decarb usually around 200-240 for 45 min, or until all the bubbles are gone like in this video
the lower the temperature the more terpenes are preserved.
Lower temp and leave in for much longer until bubbles stop

Time doesn't matter. You want those bubbles to stop. I find the bubbles will stop if you look just at it, but when you shake the jar, the bubbles will start back up. I try and go until hardly any bubbles when shook. Never by time.
Any recommendations for brands on botanical terpenes?
Will the amount have any bearing on time on the oven? Small amounts in the 3 to six gram range

10g took me 16 hours
It only took me a couple hours for a couple grams in a small glass, I was using a slightly higher temperature though

anyone doing this and filling ikrusher tik PROS need to watch out and not fill carts with oil over 110 F as it will crack the seals and give them burnt rubber flavors.

Been trying to make rosin carts for a long time had success with hash rosin but never straight up 90-120 micron flower rosin , would this method work with standard grade flower rosin ?

Rewind to 24 seconds, states almost any clean rosin will work. Use a finer micron bag maybe? I understand the wax lipid deal, but 24 to 48 in 150 degrees "changes the crystal structure". Am I wrong?

Why in the hell would you use vegetable glycerin in a solventless product? That’s mainly for distillate carts
@G.Maldo1 Didn't know that much about carts back in the day. In the end, it's a waste of money. Just to make the live rosin, you might only.
Get three percent back on most phenos, and you lose probably half percentage when you make them into a live rosin cart. Forgot I even made this comment 🤣

@@WhatsWrong221 so it turns out that you do not need to add terps to make carts. After curing the rosin remains fluid enough to work through the cart. I read this on some reddit posts, so make sure you do your own research 👍🏽

Yes that will work but use less time. The lower the temp, the more terps are preserved, so they say. Even though I think most terps have a higher boiling point, easily over 200F.
Don’t you have to add terpenes?? Or is that not required? Because I looked it up and it says adding terpenes is what makes it smoke properly in the cartridge.
What's the danger of having an oven on for 24 to 48 hours, could you use a crockpot type set up or is that the most efficient and safest way to do it
hot plate with magnetic stirring.
Use a pot of avocado oil and set the glass jar with concentrate in there, after an hour it’ll liquify no need for oven.

Where you able to run that thing the whole 24 or 48 hours? Makes me worried of a fire hazard, is there anything wrong with heating it for 4 hours then letting it cool and repeat so the oven don't ignite or does that mess up the product
I can tell you suffer greatly from lifes anxietys. Maybe just stay away from the oven for now.
