Ya, she reminds me of my mom. She passed in 2017, I miss her so much and when I see Laura's videos with her mom it makes me miss her more. I wish we could have one more shopping trip, one more coffee or tea 😔. Time with loved ones is so precious 💗

Isn't Susan the best? I made a trip to Andrews Seed in April and was fortunate to meet Susan and Monica. When I asked Susan if I could take a picture of her, she said, "Let's both be in it" and proceeded to ask another customer to take the picture. Truly a beautiful person inside and out. BTW, I was noticing in this video how much Susan and Laura's walk are the same. I think we all agree this is the best way to start any day!

My son in law Kyle, wife Mary and 4 kids are leaving Sequim WA today after visiting us this past week during a 6 week cross country trip from GA..they saw me watching Garden Answer all week. They plan on staying in Ontario OR tonight & will visit Andrews Garden Center tomorrow (Monday) before heading to Yellowstone. I am very envious!

I really do enjoy these videos immensely! I have to say while I do watch every video posted to this channel (a ritual with my morning tea), the videos with your mum are my most watched, rewatched, and enjoyed. You bring out a total sunshine in each other, it's so heartening. And let's not forget the ones with Monica too! Please keep up with these kinda of videos, they make my day!

Love your shopping trips with your mom Laura. The beautiful pot @2.46 is a bonsai tray and the 4 holes surrounding the central one are for tieing the bonsai plant with wire as the tray is very shallow. You place the plant in the tray, put the wires through the holes from underneath and then tie them up making a cross and voila, the plant is stable. Now you can put soil and hide the wires.

So happy to see you with your mom shopping!. The beautiful flowers along the road reminded me of my Granny. Whenever corn, hay or tobacco planting time came around, G-pop would plow extra rows all along the road for her flowers. Hundreds of feet of flowers lined the roads on 2 sides and it was magic. When we were little, any time we made the summer trip from the city to their farm, we always knew we had arrived when we'd see the flowers in the distance. Great memories!

I don't know how you guys can handle 108°F. Here in Canada when it gets 30°C (86°F) I'm dying and don't want to leave the air conditioning 😄. We also get quite a bit of humidity though so maybe that makes a difference. I remember one day last month it got to 100% humidity. And when we get a few days of rain and the temperature doesn't drop it gets so muggy you sweat just standing still.

Balloon Flowers are in my top 5 list of flowers I love. They can get taller than what the top height says on the tag and you cut them down for a second set of blooms. The only thing that is annoying about them is that the spent blooms are somewhat unsightly. It's the veining on the bloom that is breathtaking. Antique, Candy, and Nursery Shops are the best. 💙💙💚💚💛💛 Sweet video.
Mine get so tall. That they flop over and I don’t care for that. Can I cut them down before they bloom to keep them more mounded? I’m afraid they won’t bloom if I do.

From my insomnia TH-cam rabbit hole binges, I have learned that the 4 small holes in the Bonsai pottery is because you root prune the bonsai so much and have so little planting medium that the actual Bonsai tree wouldn't stay. So you use thick steel wire to secure it to the pot in a criss cross pattern and wire it to the pot and then cover with moss so you don't see the wire. Quite fascinating and such a different way of doing it. I watched this Japanese Bonsai master that's based in the UK and got a TH-cam channel. WHO would ever think I might know a little plant related factoid to share to the masters of Garden Answer! Love you both!

I know the owner of a local restaurant and she always frequents the other restaurants and bars in the area. I love how she treats them as colleagues, not competitors. During the pandemic, she was cheering them on, sharing their daily specials, etc. I think it’s great to be supportive (yes, I realize they were a little bit away from their town).

I planted balloon flower seeds in one of my winter sowing jugs. Tucked the baby plants into one of my front planters in the sun and they just started blooming this week! Mom will love them 🥰 (mine are blue)
