a música da minha vida, conheci ela com quatorze anos, e hoje com trinta e dois anos amo como se fosse a primeira vez, é uma melhores e mais impactantes canções de todos os tempos, VIVA A BOA MÚSICA 😎
I used to watch "Austin City Lights" 30-40 years ago. Married dad reliving rock and roll. Can't remember any acts, but it was Friday or was it Saturday night entertainment on TV.
This is a deceptively hard song to sing. Mainly because of the pure heartfelt emotion that is required. For a singer, there is no place to hide. I've seen people destroy this cos they've treated it like a bedroom sing-a-long. If you're not prepared to "feel" the song, then leave it alone. Michael created a monster (pardon the pun). Having said that, he kinda takes the easy route with this particular performance but he's earned his stripes.
I kinda felt the same while listening. It felt uninspired to me. Plus the mandolin seemed relegated to background duty. Still, it is Losing my religion, and it is REM, for that we can all be grateful.
This is the band that my sister make me discover in 1994.. still Listening in 2024
Michael never sings this the same way twice, but it's always incredible.
His voice has definitely changed with age

I cannot overstate how absolutely perfect the timbre of these instruments are...& it sounds absolutely amazing.
ok
Consider this the SONG of the century....
Maybe Smells Like Teen Spirit #1 and Losing my Religion #2

@@ThatGuyChew Yeah, kind of hard to choose. Best REM line in this song, in my opinion: "Consider this/the hint of the century..."
Yes!!!!
Absolutely !!!! ( Russia)
I consider this song literally the starting point of my interest in good music in my teenage years.

Песня моей юности, но слушаю ее уже в 2024.Браво!
Bravísimo 🎉
This is that song where you hear it for the first time and know it was already inside you.
So so so true........
I love you
Be it electric guitar or mandolin, Peter Buck is a master of tone and that's what really matters.
Can't listen to this song without smiling and being grateful for being alive. God bless us all from Patrick
The anthem❤
And this is why I learned to play mandolin. Love this song as much as the day I first heard it.
Best use of mandolin possible. As kick-ass as any guitar ever was.
Consider the MANDOLINE....THE SONG WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT THIS INSTRUMENT.....You ROCK REM😎🤘
Battle of Evermore
Peter Buck was tired of being a guitar hero, so he tried his hand at various folk instruments, including the mandolin.
Absolutely

That was wonderful and as they get older, they still sound the same!!!!!!!!

I remember vividly when this song first dropped I thought at the time it was the best song I had ever heard.
I would like see REM to play togeter again.
Going through a heart break and REM s live popped up damnn that's some good algorithms
Oh life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spot-light
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
Every whisper, of every waking hour
I'm choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt, lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this the hint of the century
Consider this the slip
That brought me to my knees, failed
What if all these fantasies come
Flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
That was just a dream
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spot-light
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
But that was just a dream
Try, cry, fly, try
That was just a dream
Just a dream
Just a dream, dream
All the years these guys recorded and toured together. And yet her they all are still. Respect guys. ✊🏼

Such a great band in the 70s, I agree, especially knowing they were formed in 1980 and their primary succes period came in the 90s.
