I would like to thank you for your help. You are the only one that has shown the fuse and relay. I have a 2002 expo that I got from my son. It was running great and the battery ran down. After charging the battery I could not get the thing ton start. Now I know where to look for the problem.
The permanent solution to fuel pump relay issues is to replace the fuel pump control module which is bolted to the back of the rear axle on the driver's side. Due to a design defect in the way the original module is mounted, it corrodes over time and the electronics inside the module gradually fail. Replacing this module is much easier and cheaper than replacing a fuel pump. If a shop replaces the fuel pump, it may replace this module as part of the process, instead of just replacing this module first to see if it fixes the problem - a lot of people don't realize that a good working fuel pump control module is what controls the operation of the fuel pump, and that Ford fuel pumps are pretty reliable and tend to last for the life of the vehicle).
I think it is worth replacing this first . My truck runs for awhile but it gets warm and the it chokes out and dies . I was thinking maybe fuel pump replacement . It will start and run fine after a few hours of sitting
I like your video bud you explain things well but under the hood on the passenger side isn’t that the secondary starter solenoid I’m tryin to find the starter relay or is the relay made in the solenoid
I want to say thanks for the thanks for the video and it helps some may help get me running in and out of the truck for last couple of weeks it's been I don't have nobody else to turn it over you know what I mean but I'm thinking it's a fuel filter now I think I can hear the fuel pump run but I can't really tell it's raining it's just so I don't know it rains you don't know what's going on what kind of sounds you hear you know but thank you for your video appreciate I give you a thumbs up and whatever else you need
Great video! My 02 5.4L has crank/no start condition and all fuses/relays are ok. One odd thing I wanted to ask about is I was assuming it was the fuel pump and no pressure at fuel rail, then all of a sudden after checking every day for a week one day it started and ran fine up to full engine temp. When I turned it off and immediately tried to re-start, was crank, NO start again. Just seems like a weird way for the pump to be intermittent. Any ideas?
Very helpful video.I have a 99F150 5.4 and does it have a FPDM on it?My truck will start up then the next day it wont.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.
Geesh I'm having the same situation too with that fuel sending unit reading empty Everytime I leave the pump ⛽ Plus, 😒on top of my misfire, obd reader isn't reading again actually anymore after fuses checked good, unable to set radio or clock fully only partially. Now I found lil oil in coil boot. Wait wait I started to run thru the fix it list but u are not telling me that that thread plug is stripped and the connector harness wire snapped.... 😫 It's bad enough u put $50 in the tank to drive 25miles and have to put $10 more in just to get home. All I want to do is fix my truck and go to work. Now I gotta either go walk and go fix it on cuz Its stuck down the street. Since my husband wanted to argue and not work together... I left my husband there and told him he better do something cuz he had his chance to let me fix it when the sun was out. Now NorCal is getting slammed again with another storm. I'll be dam if I work on my truck exposing it to the wet elements... But I sure will leave his ass outside for the rain 🌧️ 🙍🏽♂️to learn his lesson! 🏎️💨👩🏽🔧 #dontmesswithacargirl 😂
01 f150 replaced fuel pump and sending unit fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump relay no start no fuel pressure at the rail can hear the pump working?
I bought a new relay, but no one sells the one prong male connector. I keep getting sold the 2 prong male connector for me 2001 expedition. Will that still work or can I jerry rig it.
I changed my battery on my 01 expedition because it wouldn’t start and after that it started but the issue now is that when I lock the truck it wants to start back up by itself but doesn’t actually starts what do you guys think is the problem ?
I've had this problem also after changing the battery, and after it rains it seems. Mine even tries to start after it starts causing the starter to engage while it's running making horrible noises. it is like it's possessed. I had heard of this problem before and never found the fix. I'm going to have Safelite replace the front windshield as I fear water is coming down the firewall and hitting the main wiring harness to the engine compartment, possibly entering through the hood lamp 3:25 wire branch off. other things to note I am probably on my 10th battery, third fuel pump in the gas tank, second or third starter relay, and forth starter. 01 5.4 L Lincoln navigator
I also have cleaned the key starter ignition on the steering column and use graphite several times, wondering if it's engaging from there. I don't want to re-key it
Oh I understand from your earlier post. Yes the theft light should be out when you were in the on position right before you start it. I will sometimes use both of my key fobs unlock in both keys, also my 01 has a push button disable valet switch down by the left fuse box that I can hit when the key is in the on position and then I turn it off and it is usually back to normal
Hell my expedition just started to acted up today it's just turning over and my battery light is on even when the keys are our of the car do u have any suggestions for me
What if you accidentally flip the wiring harness on starter relay.. i did this and truck cranks and idles fine but if you give it gas or put it in gear it starts spitting and sputtering
@@Carvalds-fo4xm My 01 Lincoln navigator also flashes a few times per minute it has always done as I believe that is normal operation. If it flashes fast or stays lit that is a problem with the vehicle security theft system
@@jameslaiola4976 I think you are right, I've been avoiding it just reseating it with the special hole button and using graphite powder, I'm also thinking this might be what is causing the starter to engage after it is already started, and possibly when the key is out and it still tries to start
Trying to start my truck for a couple weeks by myself running in and out in and out of trying to start it and it wouldn't work it out but you show me something with them all pair of flowers when you connected to make that thing turn over but I think she's it might be the fuel filter but I took the relay out I wore that fuel pump straight relay was I checked the fuses and it'll run as long as I keep spraying carburetor cleaning but that's you

Is there a such thing on an expedition bc I don't have one on mine
Non existent on 97 to 2003 idk about after those years though

Where is the fuel sending unit? The gauge reads empty even though the tank is full. Is it part of the fuel pump itself?
It will be mounted in the top of the tank.

That is the starter solenoid. Not relay
The solenoid is on top of the starter. Hes right, its a relay. Thats its function.
