Nice video. For a future one, you could go over talents and how they then apply to their respective classes in a similar way. Otherwise i think this is a good video intro for new players.
Thank you for the video! I've been looking for a comprehensive playstyle guide of classes in FAB for, well... ever. Question, @Steelfur Speaks - which class has the ability to play differently in each match? Being "non-linear", so to speak. Not in terms of deck-building, I guess most classes can tailor their deck to the meta, but I'm looking for a playstyle that rewards some creativity on the fly.
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it. In terms of changing playstyle from match to match you are looking at the illusionists, Runeblades and assassins. Illusionists like prism can switch between a herald aggressive style and a board based permanent style within the same rough deck package (of course you could build more toward one or the other). Assassins can be more aggressive and pivot to a more blocking style quickly if they want to, and Runeblades (specifically viserai) can change their matchup profile quite a lot. Quite a few heroes have different matchup plans that incorporate going more aggressive vs some heroes or defensive vs others though. It’s a key part of what makes a good meta deck at the moment because you need to be aggressive vs enigma while also able to block/disrupt aurora as well.
Runeblade and mechanologist have classic 'switch' decks that can pivot between gameplans. However, within a given game on any class adaptive and creative play reaps high rewards. If you are really looking to adapt to your opponent and your own card draws then I suspect you couldn't get a play style more focused on that than Oscilio (though I don't play him myself).
as a player maybe buying in, this is very helpful. Still not sure if i can afford a 2nd (maybe 3rd TCG) but i think i'm going to grab something. Was maybe going to get the Dash Armory deck, and was recommended to grab the other Dash Hero to use with it. But not sure if it's better to grab that, learn the game, than choose, or just try and figure out what i like/prefer. Which is kinda hard with so many.
It can definitely be a bit intimidating, best bet is to find your local community and see if you can borrow a deck for an armory evening and see if you can try some things! Otherwise, pick the armory deck you like the best and don't upgrade it until you figure out if you like that class. The cards in the armory deck have decent secondary market value so you might not lose much taking the risk!
Just got into the game and chose Dash IO. Looks powerful, price was great, but I didn’t know worlds started a couple of weeks after I got my deck and now it seems like my deck is getting banned. 😅
Welcome! Its a great deck and she is miles from being banned entirely. Though she might (and it’s still far from certain) have one card restricted to stop her current highest power turn. That being said, that might not happen and even if it does she is still a very solid hero with a card pool that is relevant to other heroes as well so I wouldn’t be concerned about the long term viability of your mech cards at all!
So far there's only 5 classes in the game. Kayo, Azalea, Boltin, Dash and Jarl. I cannot be assed to build my own deck if I can just pay like 60 and have a deck built for me lol
I became disenfranchised with mtg a while ago and downgraded my collection, I really want to get into FaB but singles seem so scarce in the uk, know any decent sites to get cards?
Hi Mate, Card Market sometimes has good stock. Thistle Tavern as well. Though honestly a lot of buying and selling is going through the discord and local groups. So I'd try their first. Do definitely give FAB a try, its a completely differnt game rather than an MTG or Hearthstone clone, so you might find yourself enjoying it. I certainly have! There are also people on the UK discord who give bulk away to new players FYI!
Also get you on the disenfranchisement. This year I sold my Prosper, Yuki, and Shorikai commander decks and my playsets of fetches etc. Just realised I didn't want to pick it up as often. I kept 2 commander decks and some precons to play with friends but its not 800£ in one deck anymore.

Thanks. Talent video is already in the works. ;)
Thank you for this video, I look forward to the talent video.
Whoa… This guys review is just perfect (thumbs up)

Assassin, Rune blade, Illusionist, and mech all seem cool but am i just a guardian? who knows lol.

"What is a class?" DORINTHEA! Lol.
Great video!
Dorinthea wishes she had a talent for some flavour.
@SteelfurSpeaks that WOULD be nice

Just pick the hero that looks coolest
It’s a foolproof strategy!
this is great and will age well
That was the hope in the way that I wrote it, and separating classes from talents.
Assassin is all about tailoring your deck to the meta, they are a toolbox class
lol I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what I said. 😂
@@SteelfurSpeaksyou’re right, I actually misread it, I apologize
Glad to know people are reading the words as well as watching :D
