Every place you stay is simple but unique in its own way. Shame about the WiFi in this day and age and technology.
Wow, that building just lying there idle and unfinished for over a decade!? Such a waste. Who would be game enough to take over the work already done if it isn't up to scratch.
It's really about the night life there at Pattaya, isn't it? There doesn't seem to be so many people out during the day, even though it's high season.
Morning Greg, it’s only a quick visit to Bangkok I need to head south to meet friends who are holiday from back home.
I don’t know why accommodation’s don’t upgrade the WiFi’s, It doesn’t cost a lot here and there are so many people that work away from home now.
The big building is in the hands of the courts, I remember somebody mention this a few years ago and a friend reminded me. There is a monument in the hills behind it looking out to the sea. This building is blocking it and there is a big dispute that has been going on for years. They had to stop building until the courts settle it.
Pattaya beaches have been busy in previous years. I can only assume this is down to flight prices etc. It does come alive at night. I’m not a fan of the place, I come here to boost the channel every now and then.

Richy the beach is extendit this couple of years they brought in sand from somewhere don’t know where. And extendit out towards the sea .i think it is better now..

I saw a young Canadian couple on another channel, who on travel days buy 2 meals for one for breakfast and put one in a Tupper box to eat later for lunch as they often don't know where they will end up. I thought that was pretty smart.
That is a good idea, although I don’t think I’ve ever seen anywhere that does 2 for one that I know of.

that's the question ,when to come ,for northern hemisphere folk . I would recommend June or July .Low season ,so things like bar fines and everything really is cheaper ,(supply and demand)
though the rains will have started they never last long and are a nice respite to the heat ,which will have relented a bit . Also ,not so many tourists .
Yes mate I always recommend low season, I generally go to the islands in early October.

I arrived in Bangkok in June and the airfare was like you said £900 sadly I think the airfare will probably go up more but the best thing is it cheaper there
It is mate, hopefully in low season the prices will drop a bit. We know a few years ago when a return could be £350/400.

Hi Richy Top work again the big building which as took years to build there's a court injunction against it due to there's a statue of a famous admiral looking out to see on the Hill behind and the condo is blocking the status view of the sea so There is a injunction and a Court battle which has gone on for years

I’m going back to the last time I was in Pattaya a few years ago in high season Peter and it was much busier then. The beaches were extremely quiet this time and loads of bars were empty.
When are you in Phuket again? I'm there 2-6 Apr before going upto Udon.

I always recommend low season here David, it’s so much quieter/cheaper and the weather is still good.

trust me ,there is no definitive pronunciation for Thai names in English. Maybe in the minds of pedants but the difference between the 2 languages is such that it is impossible to say what the so called right annunciation in farrang is
I agree, different areas with different pronunciation’s too.
@ParkinsonRaw Have even heard the "ch" sound (like in Scottish "loch") for Kh. Nowhere have I seen it suggested that that occurs in Thai. And if you listen closely to some of the consonants, they really are different to ours. Quite often ambiguous. J is never "j" - more like "dz"; "k" can be a very quiet g, such as you almost can't hear it.
Costly flights and the influx of Chinese is less this year due to their economic problems. Hopefully just a temporary thing.
Hopefully for Thailand Frank, i do like low season a lot more here.
