For everyone asking: Dre effectively banished Zoey from the family after her College antics in Grownish blew up in her face and he hasn't forgiven her in two years. That's why she isn't in the Christmas episodes and everyone else don't want to touch that hot button issue or face Dre's wrath.

They might not have devante in it because these were Filmed during Covid.
They could have improvised and/or used a stand in, though. That's what they often do anyway when it comes to filming baby scenes.

Watch the after credit scenes. They actually mention them. No excuses, but its better than nothing.
They aren’t allowed to film the baby a lot due to legal reasons and I really don’t know about the dog and then I thought zoey was mad and never wanted to come home or something

Apparently Yara Shanidi goes to Harvard in real life, so she’s been busy and even in real life some college kids are still going to school during Covid. As far as the baby goes I’m guessing his parents probably don’t want to risk him getting sick which is understandable. I still think they should at least try bringing their names up more though
