Katy Perry is so real and charismatic. On top of being a talented singer-songwriter and an amazing performer and a pop superstar. This woman is so iconic yet she remains so grounded. I love her. She was the best thing that happened to American Idol reboot.
Katy is definitely a wonderful fun loving coach and artist. She’s just being her normal self. It’s great to see the chemistry between these judges and the contestants. It’s really fun to watch them.

when it comes to artists dating other artists, it's understandable that after a break-up they'd be a little uncomfortable listening to their former partner's music, and maybe avoid it all together, unless it's a hit song that blows up everywhere. but as a judge on a singing show, they should be impartial regarding the origins of the song sung by the contestant. it doesn't matter how bad the break-up was, a good song will always be a good song. a song is meant to stir up emotions (whether happy or sad doesn't matter) and if it get's a reaction like Katy's, then it did it's job.
