Many of these types of video fall into the "comparison" style, it is nice seeing someone just appreciating the UK without feeling the need to compare it to the US.
@@danielreed5199 I dont think that's fair, comparison is the thief of joy - CS Lewis or Mark Twain, I think most people are just happy for other people's experiences without jealousy or prejudice. These "many types of videos" is probably an exaggeration or a narrow view of the bigger picture. cheers
He is, I only clicked on the video because the title made me think this was going to be a skit involving a stereotypical 'redneck', but I was wrong and entertained throughout.
Cody, very simple but extremely enjoyable video. It’s my City and it’s refreshing to see an un-blinkered view of it. You have a great Vlogging style. Not quite sure what a “Redneck” is so will have to google it 😂. Best wishes mate from a fellow Travel Vlogger Across the Pond 😀👍
Viewed this from New Zealand, suggested by the algorithm. A Kiwi who lived in London 16 years. Cautiously watched. Gosh, what a really humble and sweet person, lovely to see someone authentically exploring the world with curiosity. Just wandering is the best way to see anywhere.
Its nice to see what London is like through the eyes of someone who hasn't been here before. I'm originally from Sydney, Australia. I've been living in London almost 10 years now - and for me, all the novelty of my first arrival in London has worn off me now. It's just 'home' these days. And don't get me wrong, I love living here - but all that wide-eyed adventure feeling has long since melted away. It was really nice to watch your video and see you seeing London for the first time as a brand new, different, fresh adventure. Reminds me how I felt ten years ago when I arrived. Thanks. Enjoy your travels in the UK and mainland Europe!
I wasn't sure what to expect but as it was short I was intrigued enough to click on and watch. I must say I was blown away with your narrating voice and style, not what I expected but I've subscribed to help your numbers grow. Hope you have a great holiday. Greetings from Scotland 🏴
I always tell people going to London to do the one touristy thing and take a tour of the Tower from a Yeoman Warder. Yeah, it’s touristy, but it’s a lot of fun and the Beefeaters giving the tour are great!
I dont know why the algorithm in its infinite wisdom brought me here, but this is great! Liked and subbed! By the way - when you say "the City of London", people in England will think you mean the financial district. It's our version of Wall Street and people in London refer to it as "the City". i.e. "I work in the City"..."jobs in the City pay more than jobs in Westminster". Its worth a Google. Great video anyway.
Hey man, I'm a Brit that lived in South Dakota for a couple of years, which is probably about as hillbilly as you get in the north. I'm so glad oyu enjoyed your stay in the UK! Btw, fun fact, the ship at 2:40 is HMS Belfast which saw combat in WW2. She's now a museum, but was truly a mighty cruiser in her hay day
Nice to see such a short, straight-to-the-point travel vlog. You did well to avoid the usual tourist traps. Just wandering around aimlessly is the best way to see any City you’re visiting. Well done sir!
I applaud any person who is prepared to take their blinkers off and see the world. Well done to you😊 Flying in or out of Singapore it is not unusual to hit massive storms and feel your heart go one way as the rest of your body goes thr other in giant air pockets!
What an interesting video I'm a Brit who's lived in London since the 1980s. There's a couple of reasons the buildings are from different time periods ,the first one is the blitz, when the German Air force bombed many British cities , including London, some buildings remained ( the old ones you saw ) the rest were a pile of rubble and new buildings were erected in their place . The second reason is that during the 80s, 90s and 00s a lot of gentrification of areas took place which is why you can see buildings from those years. Amazing you pointed it out as I tend not to notice. Good to see that through the eyes of a visitor.
Welcome to England Sir. Glad London was a good experience and hope you have time to see some sights outside of the city too. Take care and thank you for your positive enthusiasm.
London is an immensely old city with many architectural styles that are cheek by jowl. Glad you are taking advantage of our extensive public transport system. Enjoy your time in the London, but see if you can get out for at least a day. I can recommend, Bath or Oxford, but there are really hundreds of places just in England.

Thanks for that, Cody. I haven't been back to my home town for many years. Your laid back and appreciative take on the place made me want to get back as soon as I can. Keep up the good work...
Good luck on your travels, mate. The train journeys must have kicked ass, price wise, as we are the costliest in Europe, apparently. Happy new year for Wednesday too. I wish you rainbows, from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Great clear and unpretentious narration ! Thank you for visiting UK/Ireland. Hope the weather doesn't detract too much. June to September next time will give you the rural beauty at its best, but plenty in all seasons to entertain and inform 👍.
Good to hear someone say a positive word about London for once 🇬🇧👍 as I live just outside London and all I ever hear are people moaning and groaning about London being violent and full of dangerous gangs 😂 it only happens in the bad areas same as New York or LA or Paris etc , Anyway I hope you had a great time 😊
Great commentary Cody. You visited places in the City right by where I work. Nice to see you appreciating things that I shamefully seem to have taken for granted. I do agree entirely about the great mix of old and new architecture. Superb.
Welcome to the UK! Please explore more than London, which is an amazing city but not all the UK has to offer by any means. Keep exploring, lovely insightful videos. You have a wonderful voice too, great timbre to it!
Somewhat repeating what others have said, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this video. It’s so refreshing to hear somebody’s very first impression of London and England. The way you describe such great interest in things I now take for granted in London is so inspiring. You’re a natural storyteller and wish you all the best for the remainder of your trip
Hi, Cody. What a great little video! Loving your enthusiasm and energetic style of presentation. So glad you've travelled to the UK and that you are loving ALL that London has to offer. I'm biased, but i love my country's capital city. Great that you do, too. See you in the next one. Best wishes. Love and light. 💞🌟🤗
This was really nice. Positive impression of London. I was born here and it’s nice you appreciate it all the way from Texas. Thanks, I’ll watch more of these b
Great video with excellent narration. I’m from Sweden and also love to explore on my own. I usually begin with the most touristy places and sights, then expand on residents advice to special gems. London has a LOT to see.
Thank you for such a lovely gentle video, such a welcome change from all the shouty over-hyped stuff that gets flung at us these days. Have liked, subscribed and pressed the warning bell!
I'm from London, don't know why you came up on my feed but dude you're awesome, I wish I saw my city in this way! Looking forward to where your travels go.
I'm from London and I absoloutly love this video, I pass through the locations in second half of your video (tower bridge, liverpool street/ bishopsgate) every monrning on my way to work and forget how lucky I am to be here!
Hello there, Bro. Welcome to England. You seem like a decent person, and conseequently, we are very happy to have people like you visit our little island. Remember, as great and massive as London is, the UK is extremely diverse in terms of people and places. Try and see as many different aspects as you can.
Hi Cody, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to London. The Tower of London is my favourite historical site in London. The museum inside the White Tower is fantastic. A 9½ hour flight is nothing. The first time I flew from Sydney to London, way back in 1982, it took 26 hours. 20 of those hours were in flight. 🙂
This has been in my suggestions for a few days. Didn’t really turn my fancy. But boy I’m glad I watched it. What a great video mate. Welcome to England
Welcome to the UK, I liked and subscribed as I love your positive open attitude and it made me smile to see how much you were getting out of all the different sites. I can even answer your farmland observation. It is called the Metropolitan Green Belt and it covers 516,000 hectares, roughly three times the size of London. Most UK cities and towns have designated green belts around them. A much smarter politician than any we have today realised that the only way to protect our rural areas was to wrap a green belt around our cities and towns where urban sprawl must stop. This land can only be used for farming, forests and recreation, hiking etc. Getting planning permission for a house, even if you own the land is near impossible in these protected green areas. Sorry that took much longer to explain than I expected. I hope you get to enjoy some of our beautiful national parks and I hope you make it to Edinbrough Scotland.
I love the video title. I am from Georgia so I know what a redneck is. I traveled to Spain in 1992 and stayed. My job now is showing Americans and UK citizens both young and old around Europe. I shudder when I think I came so close to wasting my life in the states. Some of things you mention in your video are what makes Europe so cool for me. I just chuckle when someone asks me when am I moving back to the states.
Welcome to England and the UK. A pleasure to have such a pleasant, perceptive and appreciative visitor.
