Best line from Jobson was stop gobbin or we're just gonna do slow songs 😂😂😂😂

Alex Turner was 15 when the Arctic Monkeys formed, so what?
Kids just aren't in bands any more, quite apart from how the entire industry is inverted and people now just watch stuff on youtube or spotify instead of buying records (go figure) there is now hardly anywhere for them to play.
That's not their fault. The world has changed and older generations are as culpable as anyone. There's still bands out there though, if you care to look.

I was going through my mother's 7" singles today, some I knew, some I didn't. One of the ones I didn't know was Skids and it was 'Masquerade' (w/ 'Out of Town') and I fell in love immediately. Played it over and over, eventually looking up the rest of their stuff online and have just been obsessed. I've just wanted to talk to her about them and ask questions, but unfortunately I can't, and especially missed her today.
Just some of the catchiest shit I've heard in a while, even bought some strings for my shitty Fender (usual guitar is always in Drop A) so I can try learn some of their songs. What a band.

I saw Big Country back in the early 80's, they were as good live as they were on record, it's a human tragedy about Stuart, he was so talented, but depression and alcoholism can be overwhelming I guess, he'll be missed.
I feel privileged that I grew up during the late 70's and early 80's new wave/punk stuff, it was really ground breaking. I stopped listening to the charts around 1991, it wasn't as good as it had been ......

      Into the valley
      Betrothed and divine
      Realisations no virtue
      But who can define
      Why soldiers go marching
      Those masses a line
      This disease is catching
      From victory to stone
Ahoy! Ahoy! Land, sea and sky
Ahoy! Ahoy! Boy, man and soldier
Ahoy! Ahoy! Deceived and then punctured
Ahoy! Ahoy! Long may they die
      Out of concealment
      Blank and stark eyed
      Why so uncertain
      This culture deceives
      Prophesised, brainwashed
      Tomorrow's demise
      All systems failing
      The placards unroll
      Ahoy! Ahoy!
      There ys go, enjoy ;)

Awesome, I'm a huge Big Country fan from US. His soul spoke to me and his art was amazing. If not for U2, Big Country would be the greatest band from the New Wave era. But 2nd place is damn good too. Was grateful to have seen them live at a college near where I live. I know they heard me, I was the guy yelling "HARVEST HOME." had no idea they play from a set list. I love and miss him/them so much. Be blessed John, and be a blessing to others.

Loved the skids as a 10 yr old punk. Yep and I got in the gigs to. I stopped listening to music when Stuart died. Big country were amazing. In my opinion Stuart was the most natural talented guitarist, lyricist to date, I hope your screeching that e-bow in heaven to the gods my friend. So sadly missed✌️✌️✌️

Like everyone else on here, I never had a clue what he was singing either - it was just a great tune - but what a shame, given that the lyrics are so incredibly powerful and moving. What an author! See below:
Into the valley, betrothed and divine
Realizations no virtue but who can define
Why soldiers go marching, those masses a line
This disease is catching from victory to stone
Ahoy, ahoy, land, sea and sky
Ahoy, ahoy, boy, man and soldier
Ahoy, ahoy, deceived and then punctured
Ahoy, ahoy, long may they die
Out of concealment, blank and stark eyed
Why so uncertain this culture deceives
    Prophesied, brainwashed tomorrow's demise
All systems failing the placards unroll
Ahoy, ahoy, land, sea and sky
Ahoy, ahoy, boy, man and soldier
Ahoy, ahoy, deceived and then punctured
Ahoy, ahoy, long may they die
Time for the audit, gathering trial
La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la
    Collector's dilemma, repositioned and filed
Ahoy, ahoy, land, sea and sky
Ahoy, ahoy, boy, man and soldier
Ahoy, ahoy, deceived and then punctured
Ahoy, ahoy, long may they die
Into the valley, betrothed and divine
Realizations no virtue but who can define
Why soldiers go marching, those masses a line
This disease is catching from victory to stone
La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la
Into the valley, betrothed and divine
La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la
Into the valley, betrothed and divine
