By far you’re one of the best, TH-cam appliance repair videos that I have seen we had the same issue with our twin cooler GE refrigerator (same issue exactly upper vent not working). I followed your directions, thumped it, and the fan worked but only for 1 day or so had to redo it, and I will order a new part. No one else had instructions and videos like this truly a genius and explained everything very well. I greatly appreciate it, so does my family. Thank you again. 😊
You just saved me $3,500 on a new fridge! Thank you, you are appreciated. We had the exact same problem with the exact same fridge. It was made in 2013 and it’s 2024, it’s a good fridge!
Thank you, this worked perfectly. Does anyone else thinks is crazy this fridge will bark at you if you leave the door open for 5 seconds, but doesn't bother to let you know that your refrigerator is now at 50^ unless you go to the temperature adjustment screen and actually change the setpoint?
Thank you, worked great! Mine was really frozen. Took half an hour with hair dryer to get the fan cover off. Saved us a lot of money. This video was great. Thank you again. Clear instructions. My old fan blade was really rough and not free spinning.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ you literally just saved Thanksgiving dinner with the bump idea!! I'm ordering a new fan on Monday morning. I wanted to make sure I thank you for your time and help with this amazing video! Thanks again for your help!
This dude is awesome. The video directed me to the diagnosis, no air through the upper vent. I ordered the fan and it was delivered in 48 hours. The process went very smoothly. As soon as I plugged in the new fan I could feel cold air though the upper vent. Everything back to normal. Thanks!!
Thank you so much for the video. It was exactly what was happening to our refrigerator. My husband said call the repair man but I found your video he fixed it with no problems. Saved us the $250.00 service call instead it only cost us the part $83.00.
Exact same frig with exact same problem…ordered a new fan and installed easily. Took longer to thaw all the ice from the coil with a hair dryer than the rest of the job. THANK YOU for the explicit and very thorough instructions!
I have the exact same refrigerator with the exact same problem. Thanks so much for posting this fix. While a new evaporator fan was on order and expected in about four days, your quick fix worked beautifully! The new fan went in, just as you had instructed. Thanks so much for saving me so much time and trouble!
Thank you for creating and sharing this. Like others, I had the exact same problem. I came home from a week vacation to find the fridge warm. Only differences was that I had to physically spin the fan to get it functional again, and I had a large foam piece covering the condenser. I am ordering a new fan today.
Thank you! The freezer and middle drawer of my cafe fridge weren’t working but the top fridge section was. Located the fan inside the freezer, unplugged it for a bit and now it’s working again
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video! I was quoted $600 - $1000 for this repair but I was able to fix it myself for $83, the cost of the part. Your video was so easy to follow. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Thank you so much. Had the exact problem and tried going through GE first. Big waste of time and realized in the first couple minutes of your video what the problem was. Thanks again...
Thanks for the video which allowed me to self repair for only the cost of the part which I found on Amazon. Unfortunately the bump method did not restart the failed motor but it was worth a try!
Followup, mine is a CFE28USHLSS and the fan uses a completely different rubber boot to connect to the removable panel, not the back of the fridge. I was very afraid of tearing the boot so I cut the old fan off of it instead of stretch the rubber. After reassembly, the main fan works but the drawer fan now doesn’t. I took it all apart and ensured it was plugged in but still never turns on. Fridge seems ok though.
This was a great video and helped me fix my fan issue. For some reason after I replaced the fan though my fridge is cooling too much and freezing over and I’m not sure what is causing it
Thank you for a detailed video. I have same refrigerator, the issue with mine is everything is freezing in the fridge, from eggs to everything. Could this also be related to fan?
I just discovered last night that I have a similar issue, but its my freezer. Set at Zero but stayed 27 through the night. And I noticed no ice was made yesterday. So I checked the side vents and no air. Shot with a temp gun and one was about 45 and the other was like 51. I will be checking the freezer fan tonight after work.
wish my fan was so located. We have a GE of that style also but the fan is down in the freezer section and now replacing it a second time in 2 or 3 years and it ain't easy to do. There is a sensor bulb down in there worth replacing while you are at it. Any good appliance parts website has diagrams showing parts and maybe functions
Hello there, I have a GE profile that the freezer is t cold at all, the fridge is doing great but the freezer fans aren’t blowing cold air at all, I just ordered a new capacitor and Start relay, is this common for the GE French door style fridges? Any ideas why the freezer isn’t cold would help, thank you in advance
Howdy, thank you for the video. I kind of guess it was the fan motor because I am a vending machine operator, I see this kind of problem in some of my coldfood machines. You hit the nail right on the head. My question is, should I replace both fan motors while i'm in there? Are both fans the same? Or different?
im confused.your fan you said was running.i took mine apart today and it was also running. my evap cooler is so iced the styrofam stayed stuck on so now im waiting for it all to defrost. my fan was spinning however. am i missing something?
@@countrylivingwiththewades8784 it was like 57 degrees. My issue turned out to be a thermostat. Thermostat went bad causing the defroster to not engage
This is the refrigerator fan part# WR01X10588 correct? I have same problem and want to make sure to order correct part. Where did yall order it from? I went on GE and part cost shoes $96.71. Just wanna make sure on right track..TIA

I did not publish the fan part number because par numbers can change with a slight model number change, I did not want to lead someone to a part number that might not be correct. I researched to part number on GE's website.
