The motor should have been running while the refrigerator was on & it wasn't. You can also ohm out the motor & if you have a good spare motor as a spare & ohm it out as well & see if the old one is close to the reading from the new one. Thanks for watching Mr Cool Lu 👍
Thanks for your videos. I may have missed but how can you tell if the freezer is in defrost cycle when the fan is not spinning? Or how do you take it out of defrost to make sure the fan motor works?
Listen for the sound of water dripping cuz the defrost heater will be melting the ice off the evaporator coil. If the refrigerator is operating at normal temperatures it's most likely in defrost, if the refrigerator is warm then there's something wrong. Also, depending on what type of defrost timer you have, you can force defrost or take it out of defrost when it's not in defrost mode. Hope that helps. you hear the compressor running old ones you turn the timer with a flat screewdriver it is in the control panel by the light the newer ones you flash the light 6 times
Good day Have a question about an AC compressor would you suggest to put in a hard start kit prior to getting high amperage at start up? The compressor is running about 9 Amps at start up
If the fan is running your issue is most likely ice blocking the air duct. Look for an opening or two openings at the back middle part of the freezer in front of the silver drain pan. That can't have any ice in it. You can also look on the ceiling of the refrigerator compartment for a small opening which is the duct that the air from the freezer goes to the refrigerator section & if there's ice blocking it you won't get any air to the fridge compartment. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching Octobersfinest & subscribe to the channel 👍
I was thinking he is not going to put a meter on the leads to test until I saw the junkie motor and figure that you have replaced enough of the motors that there is no need to waste the time unzipping the meter bag
I did test the motor off camera & it was bad lol But like you said I've done enough of these to know how these refrigerators work & when a part is bad. Next time I'll remember to film the ohm test on the motor. The motor can test out good electrically but fail mechanically so that's always something to remember.
I know the tenant will be happy to have a working refrigerator again. Good job ! Thanks for sharing! Have a blessed day !
Sure was! Having a refrigerator down is the worst appliance to have break. Thanks for watching Phillip & have a blessed day as well. 👍

Question how you determine it’s the motor needs to be changed

Only thing about a hard start is it will shorten the life of the compressor
Doesn't hurt to try it out & see what amperage you get after installing it. Thanks for watching Paul 👍

I replaced the fan but no air is getting to the refrigerator part still
