    Hello everyone I know it’s been a while but I finally finished this video. I hope everyone enjoys. Sorry for the louder than normal music, it didn’t sound that loud after production but does on TH-cam. Anyways, I know the music is a bit different. I wanted to change it up plus this song just spoke to me. Kind of reminds me of the Stranger Things song.

      @@jdbankshot Thanks for the feedback. I too like either rock, metal, or blues for pool music and that's what I typically use in my videos but like I said in the main comment, I wanted to try something different. Also, everyone likes different kinds of music and what you and I like isn't necessarily what others like so I want to try other things from time to time. I knew this song would be a BIG NO from a lot of people but I wanted to try it out. anyways As far as using music, there are parts of the video where there's no sounds because the video is either sped up or slowed down and I use it as filler music. I still have sounds of the hits where the music is turned down. Ultimately this channel is my creative outlet and I like try differnet things from time to time.

    I have that cue. I went with it for first it has a really great hit especially for carbon fiber. Hits way better that the predator revo. Second it comes in at the right level of deflection for me. I really only use front hand English and am about 12 inch bridge length. So with this shaft I can just move my front hand and not have to worry about deflection. Plus when you really slow your stroke down and let the cur do the work the thing really comes to life. One thing you can do wrong with carbon fiber is you can over power the shaft. There's a lot more action transfer with them. So at slow speeds you can get some insane action out of them. This shaft especially. On other notes. I did change the tip to a moori quick and did have a Kamikaze white sight plate installed. This combo is working great for me. I did also try a techno dud tip which was a little harder to control but gave great action

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว

      You definitely get more action with less effort with CF shafts. I haven't tried a Kamikaze of Techno dud yet. I have a techno dud in my tip collection, just haven't installed it on a shaft yet. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

      @@PoolAddiction it was too unpredictable for me with a carbon fiber shaft. I had great success with them on wooden shafts but at time the cue ball would take off on a soft draw shot and go 18 feet when I was only intending 4 foot. Sounds better that it actually was. The fact is I've enjoyed the harder tips and had more success with them. I really really dial my stroke back but have more control on the action. Btw it's just a white Kamikaze pad on top of the black vault plate under my tip. I mainly had installed to protect the vault plate. I really didn't mind the no ferrule but felt more comfortable about retipping my cue with it on top of the vault plate. Probably didn't need it but considered it a precaution

    • @PostUp_Time

      OMG ALL THE CARBON SHAFTS ARE MANUFACTURED AS "HOLLOW CARBON TUBES" SO THEY ALL PLAY THE SAME. ITS A HOLLOW TUBE LATER FILLED WITH FOAM. HOW DIFFERENT CAN 2 HOLLOW TUBES PLAY? ALL IN YOUR HEAD. ONLY DIFFERENCES COME FROM DIAMETER AND TAPER. OTHERWISE IT IS A HOLLOW TUBE WITH FOAM, WITH ANYBODIES NAME ON IT.

    • @jasonsanders9054
      @jasonsanders9054 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PostUp_Time lol sounds like you haven't hit with any carbon fiber shafts. Honestly from manufacturer to manufacturer the difference is night and day. Plus there's multiple ways the carbon blanks are made. Different ways they are filled. Some aren't even foam filled. My break shaft is lined from vibration reducing wrap and it's very close to a wood hit. Plus shaft diameter and taper really has less effect on carbon fiber than wood. At the end of the day a 11.5 mm shaft really doesn't deflect a whole lot less than a 12.8 mm shaft when dealing with carbon fiber

    • @genejoe
      @genejoe ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @jdbankshot
    @jdbankshot ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i think i have a slight problem with the term "budget". sometimes, when i just don't feel quite right at the table, i'll switch to my "players" sneaky pete, 13mm, le pro tip, wood to wood joint, & everything falls into place. it now goes for 110$, but i got it free when i purchased a lucasi. it's the player, not the gear.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're absolutely right that it's the player, not the equipment that makes you good. As far as budget, what I meant is budget for a cue with a carbon fiber shaft. Yes, it's more expensive than a Players cue but the Players cue doesn't have a carbon fiber shaft. Ultimately what it comes down to is finding the gear that fits your game best. Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching!

    One year later, I'm wondering what your favorite cue is and why. My views on cues has changed year after year. Looking back, I don't think cues make much of a difference...wood, carbon, kiel, etc. Today, cues over $300 are all good for the most part from what I've seen. I've tested many cues of my teammates and after a while, they are all the same. It comes down to preference in my opinion.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree preference is key. Some people like different weights, balance, length, and diameter. All that comes into play with your preference. I do notice less deflection with the CF and keilwood shafts over a normal maple shaft. Some people don't like less deflection and that's a preference also. Thanks for the comment!

      Thanks for the feedback. You are not the only one that has issues with the music. I have a certain creative way I like to do the videos, however, I am considering changing things up based on some of the comments I have received. A lot of people think I don't have any audio sound with the testing but I do within its own section of the testing. The B-roll music is meant to have something playing while the video is being played since a lot of the footage is either slowed down or sped up. As far as the background music, I try to keep it low enough to where it doesn't overpower my voice, I think a may get rid of it though since it doesn't add much value and it can be a distraction. Would you recomend which shaft is better for good shot and draw spin ? is it Soft / Medium / hard ?

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of people, including myself at one time, think that soft tip grip more and therefore transfer more spin. However, Dr. Dave has put 2 different videos out about this, one was recent and the other was a few years ago. In a nutshell, he found that the difference between them were negligible. I have not done any tests myself but it think he’s correct. I think the different tip hardness is more for what you like in feel, feedback, and maintenance of the tip. I still think that medium or soft (not too soft) works well for draw but you can get good draw with any tip hardness. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching!

    Great review. However I must say that I am a bit confused at your claim that the jflowers is not as low deflection as other more expensive carbon fiber shafts. Now of course I understand that no testing is perfect and there will always be differences between those who are conducting the testing. With that being said, I have watched many many many deflection test from many "testers" who have tested everything from Revo to cynergy to Jacoby black, meucci, becue, tiger, and pretty much every other carbon fiber shaft you can imagine. Of all the previous deflection test I have watched I do not recall a single test where every single deflection test shot (soft, medium or firm) never exceeded 1 inch. Your jflowers deflection test is the only deflection test that I have ever seen where the deflection, no matter if it's soft medium or firm, never exceeded 1 inch. Now of course as I said previously, no testing is perfect and there will always be differences between those conducting the test. But I have to say, compared to the prior videos I have watched, an average of .75 inches at firm, and not a single shot (soft medium or firm) deflecting more than one inch, that's absolutely amazingly consistent and amazingly low deflection. That is the most consistent and lowest deflection I have seen from any shaft I have ever watched being tested. Now please understand that my conclusion is based off of watching many different testers in many different videos knowing that no two testers are the same and that you are your own tester who cannot compare your results or findings to the results or findings of others, and are giving us your own final findings and conclusions, which myself and I'm sure many others are very appreciative of.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. I keep a running total of all the shafts I have tested so far and the J Flowers ranks 8 in soft, 6 in medium, and 5 in firm out of 8 shafts. I agree it still has great low-deflection qualities and is definitely low-deflection but it was middle of the pack of the shafts I have tested. I am not totally sure of others' testing and can only speak for my own. I really appreciate the comment and I probably need to do a video on the shaft test rankings that I have done so far. In the end, what I was trying to say is that it is low deflection but not as low deflection as the shafts I test so far and it's in the lower middle of the overall rankings. That's saying a lot considering the company that it's in. Thanks for watching the video and I am glad you liked it!

    Thanks for your unbiased review. You seem to say that it is a decent cue for the $319 price. One thing you (and everyone else who reviews this "$319" cue) does not disclose is that for anyone buying this cue in the USA, there is an added $40 shipping charge. That makes this a $359 cue. What do you think of this cue at this price point?

    • @PoolAddiction

      I didn't know they were charging that much for shipping. At one point I believe it was free shipping but obviously that changed. I figured it be great to have just for the shaft, so I could use 1 butt with an interchangeable shaft set up. Only problem is the shafts wont interchange...1 is very loose and the other is so tight I cant get to screw down it stops almost 1/2 inch from the joint....conclusion the radial pins are slightly difference depth lengths in the butts and diameters.....so eventhough both plays well....I have 2 cues, not 1 interchangeable shaft...CON. Has any one else tried this? I originally give the JF cue in CF a 4.5 star out of 5, but now I lowered it to a 4.
