- Full Review of the New Retro Series by Rhino Billiards. Bocote Retro Series with Rings and Points with microfiber lizard embossed leather wrap and 30in 12.5mm Carbon Fiber Shaft with revolutionary Time Crystal Tip.
Nice review man. Very interesting the pin being flat at the top. I'm going to compare the new pin with the other radial pins I have as well. Happy to see that the shaft tightens up sooner. I come from playing with a Huebler that was tight after three threads😁. Great work👍
@@HereAfterBilliards Thank you for the compliment. 😊 And I'm very detailed oriented so I notice even the smallest little details. Lol
I think between the Rhino and Raven, I would go with the Raven.
@@wc5839 both are excellent but in the end it all comes down to personal preference. :-)
They look similar and their websites look alike as well. Do you know if these come from the same factory and just rebranded?
@@Bawkzers I assure you they are definitely made in different locations and made with different materials.
Love your videos man!!
Glad you like them!
Great review brother! Question: How would you rank this cue against J Flowers and Cuetec? Rank 1-3 for the cues if possible. Thank you
@@finesse2.048 Thank you and you can't really put a rank on a Rhino cue. It's its own species if that makes sense.
@@CuemanBilliards thank you. Ok let me ask you this. Which cue would you prefer to play with. I am debating on J Flowers and Rhino for purchase, and I’m stuck in thought right now. I figured you would be the best expert.
@@finesse2.048 Honestly..... It's all personal preference. They are both great pool cue shafts and then it comes down to the butt end of the pool cue. Rhiho Cues are really nice but Jflowers uses real leather wraps and Rhino uses microfiber leather wraps. Jflowers extension ready and Rhino are not. So like I said all personal preference. But the carbon fiber shafts from both companies are great.
I play the rhino 12.5 shaft. There are two types of radial pins. The Chinese version has that flatter top, the thread pitch is angled more, which means it won't match to certain radial pins.
@@Danks-vz5xz I did not know that. Thank you for telling me that.
@@CuemanBilliards they did this as a walk-around to copy the uniloc patented radial pin made here in the US
One issue i did want to make known...my shaft came with a particularly unattractive tink noise coming from the ferrule area. After heating the ferrule slowly and pulling it, the glue or epoxy was only glued on one half of the surface area that should have been glued. Had to order a new ferrule. Luckily i know how to fix. But should not have been allowed to pass their qc, if present. Great playing shaft, though. Still use as my gamer, thinking of buying a backup as well.
@@Danks-vz5xz wow. That's kind of crazy.
Are those real inlay or only decal?
@@sisukaloncat They're not inlays and they are not decals. They use an exclusive printing technology.
Why is Rhino not selling these with a 12.8mm option like the Nebula? I hate the Nebula butt, but the shaft is great! 12.8 is the perfect size for me. 12.5 is just a little too slim.
@@JohnBowl14690 if you contact their customer service that I'm pretty sure that they will have no problem changing it from a 12.5 to a 12.8. 😊
@@CuemanBilliards - Thanks! I'm thinking of getting 2nd Rhino
@@JohnBowl14690 The retro series cues are a huge upgrade and they look amazing and feel fantastic. 😊
